Good Morning from Cooperstown, NY!!

A pretty nice drive yesterday. I saw 2 bald eagles chasing each other - why can't there be a place to pull over? I made the reservation for this campground last March - you'd think in that time they could have prepared this site better! I requested a pull thru and what I got was a former seasonal site in the trees. Sewer 'hookup' is a horizontal pipe going through bushes to the actual sewer. I guess if I want to use it, I'll duct tape my sewer connector to it! I'll survive, but wasn't what I was expecting!

Was only in the 70s yesterday when I got here. Not even 70 yet this morning! Nice change! All of you in the hot zones, stay cool and hydrated. I'm planning to ride after I finish coffee and shower.

Found out last night that my niece's Marine husband is now a Major. They are just now being transferred to Quantico, VA. Long story short, several months ago I inquired about being able to drive SS on base without motorcycle endorsement. I was told to contact the Provost Marshal's office - turns out my nephew is the new Provost Marshal!! Since they are going to be living off base temporarily, it doesn't matter anymore.

Looking forward to the next 10 days with activities here plus gtg with Carolb, Peggy and O'Sharon (watching to see when she hits the road).

Good morning ladies
Car is loaded with deliveries this morning, two stops and then the grocery store.
Should have been 3 stops but son is still sleeping. Saving that one for another day.
If I keep this pace up, I might decide to retire end of December, but highly unlikely,
may even string it out to end of school year. Still need to make my visit to the
retirement assoc.
Sadly, I found the perfect unit for me at the factory in Elkhart, my size, price and mileage,
all perfect. It sold in two days! I'm not surprised.The search continues. As the time for
retirement gets closer, what shows up on the market could determine when I actually
put in for my retirement. So yep, I have specific questions to ask the retirement assoc.

I'm up, just not moving very fast. 70 sounds nice, it's already 100 this morning. I had the Roomba working but I don't hear it. It has gotten itself in a bind somewhere. It doesn't do the best job along the walls or under things but it works and I don't have to.

There is no telling what kind of sewer dump a campground is going to have. The state park I went to last weekend I was having to dump uphill. My sewer drain is low to begin with. The city near my sister had a nice dump site in a parking lot of one of the city buildings. I like to use it when we went to the lake. They closed that one and moved it to behind the building going down hill. My tanks won't dump that way. To use that dump I have to be going the wrong way and have a long enough hose to reach under my RV. They let people that don't have a clue build things.

Guess I better get dressed or I will never get anything done. Harold has already hooked up a trailer, brought the mower to the shop and come home and I'm still drinking coffee.

Gonna be 100 today with a heat index of 111, so I got up and went to the library early to pick up some books they were holding for me. Will stay inside the rest of the day. Didn't get much done around here yesterday so will have to get it done today (laundry, dishes, vacuming, etc). My joints are already feeling much better now with one less day at work each week. Just hoping I can afford to keep this schedule up financially.

Edit: Just read that there were terrible storms in northern MN overnight and two campers were killed in the Boundary Waters area near Canada with more seriously injured. We had a little bit of wind and rain here but nothing much.

Anita, I was promised 6 months ago to have a site where I could get satellite. "No problem, you can easily get satellite from this site." Ha!

Got here late yesterday and found out they had put me right behind the biggest tree in the campground. And story changed to "We don't guarantee satellite, and we never move people." So even though they had several open sites this morning, they said they were full and had no open sites. (Apparently, they plug people into specific sites in this commercial campground months in advance.) I said I wanted a different site, not an extra site, and since they also told me they don't guarantee sites, that made no sense. Anyway, they moved me to their "emergency" site and I have partial satellite. Grrrrrr. Whole attitude is lousy for customer service.

Working today while kids and grandkids are out river rafting. Going to go into Sisters for looking around and dinner tonight. At least I got caught up on my sleep this morning. I am not used to getting up early and fixing breakfast or getting on the road early. Leave in two days east while they go south, so will get back into my regular schedule.
