Sleepy heads on Thurs?

Gmorning all :)

I read forum earlier, thought someone--SUE:)--would have opened by now. So here I am. And being lazy, rather that going to general talk, will wish you a happy bday Louise!

Anita, you didn't miss anything. I really didn't explain. Tigg still suffering from allergies--chronic this year since allergy season is still going on all summer for everybody. I just took allergy med, cousins, friends, many still on allergy med! Nasty year. Anyway, vet prescribed new stuff for Tigg, working much better. Been wondering about your GD, just so wish the med community would find the magic pill for Krones. Crikey, don't know spelling.

LindaMac & I are off on a day trip by car. Going to Adirondacks, Old Forge. Not too long, as she'll get plenty of scenic drives once she leaves here & heads to Canada. Having a great time, & I hope many of you get to meet her someday.

OSharon, light a fire under Jim! Get that awning situation under control. Can't wait to see you & the boys.

Ok, time to be off. Hope y'all have a great day, stay out of storm paths, & be safe! 8-)

good morning ladies
well, I finally got a good nights sleep and woke up at a normal time, thank you melatonin!
I finally admitted to my friend Bill that I am NOT going to Oklahoma with him. Its better this
way, and having a lengthy discussion about his sister not having long on this earth, he may
need to stay longer and I've got to be back to work on the 3rd. Certainly didn't need stress
over that situation.
Also visited the retirement website and did some calculations with their app. Found out how
much of the lump sum I can get for my purchase and what the amount for the monthly will be
after that. I can get my motorhome (used of course) but after that I'll be living in poverty!! :o
I have to do more number crunching, looking at the gas, insurance, medical, cell phone and
of course the occassional campground fee. Looks like I'll be boondocking for the majority of
my time. Have to look at taxes too. We do have a program at work where I can return as a
retired employee and specify how many days a week I would work. Seems like tue, wed, thur
might not hurt. Just something to think about when I'm looking at the numbers, honestly,
I do NOT want to work, I just want to kick back and watch the squirrels and birds in the trees
and be lazy. Ok, so I might have to cook now and then and make a move to the bathroom but
hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.
Well, the car is loaded with crap for the salvation army and need to gas up my car while its
cool. Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Nothing much going on here yet today. Just dropped my Jeep off to get the brakes fixed and a general tune-up.

Went shopping yesterday for clothes. Now I remember why I don't like to do that. I wear a size 4 in pants and they are very hard to find unless you look in a juniors department. But those pants are all jeans or leggings or otherwise very narrow on the bottom. I need a little bit of a bootcut since I have short legs and the narrow bottoms don't look good on me. Found some shorts and tops but no pants. May have to look on-line for my size and style.

Gonna spend the day cleaning around here. Cloudy and windy with a chance of rain today so a good day to stay inside. Much cooler out tho so I have my windows open for some fresh air.

Have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good Morning!

Gee, I may have to surprise you all and start MC! I've done a couple outside chores and now sitting in the A/C in front of a fan drying off!! Yesterday's predicted thunderstorms didn't happen here tho I believe they were all around us.

Carolb, Steven and I were checking him in for a medical procedure and the nurse didn't know how to spell Crohn's. Funny thing is, we couldn't remember either - have to stop and think where the 'H' goes!! All I know about Sophie is that after several months of check ups every few weeks in Kansas City, she doesn't have to go back until October other than the infusions. I envy you your drive in the Adirondacks, but my turn will come!

Ava, I'm sorry things didn't work out, but I think you were (are) smart. Barbie, what's a size 4??

Need to decide what is next!

Make it a great day and safe travels.

OMG, my thermometer says it's 101 outside. I'm suppose to be getting ready to leave. It is only a couple of hours to the campground if I don't stop 10 times. lol One of the ladies that is coming says she has a vintage camper that doesn't have air conditioner or refrigerator. I couldn't stand it. Someone is bringing a kid pool to put our feet in. She may have to get in it.

Barbie, I have trouble finding pants but going the other way. To get them wide enough they are usually 4 to 6 inches too long. I could use some new shorts but haven't seen any lately. I usually shop that the discount stores so you have to take what you can get. I have trouble finding shirts I like. It seems like everything is the thin material that sticks to you when it's hot. I don't know who can wear some of the blouses. If they have a V neck my bra usually shows.

Ava, it's hard to decide when to retire. I didn't have much of a choice since they closed the office I worked in. I wasn't moving to Houston. I was offered another job. I was delusional and thought I would be able to travel. In hindsight I might as well have kept working because I can't get very far.

Better get moving.

Had a teleconference this morning and am focusing the rest of the day on work to catch up. Too much goofing around last few days! Nice to sit and watch people go by, however.

AVA/Alice, it is hard to decide when to retire. I worked until I was 69 to get the increased SS, which has made a difference. I also am lucky enough to have a job I can continue to do part time and on the road. I know you do not want to continue working, but is there something else you could do to earn an income for a few years that would be a little easier than dealing with busloads of kids and all the administrative stress you have been having? Something low key?

Love this northwestern coastal weather, by the way. Cool with gorgeous breezes!

Got my Jeep back. Got new brakes, a new water pump, oil change and tune-up. Need to get a new oil pan since it is rusted thru and leaking a little but need to save up some money for that. Not a cheap fix but necessary. May have to use my rent credit refund for that next month. Needs to be done before winter. So much for saving money to buy a camper and/or move south! Will probably have to stick it out here for another year now. Just can't swing it financially this soon. Now with my work hours cut back, I won't have much extra money to put away either. I need to start buying lottery tickets!

I am looking at retirement at about 80 years of age! Can't live on $800 per month with just Social Security!
