Not too busy Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Not too busy Tuesday

Good Morning all,

No, I didn't disappear, just been busy and haven't been on here these past few mornings. Nice to see a few more daily posts out there. Been working on my fence here, moving it back just a tad in a couple of areas and strengthening it up. One more section to adjust and will be done period. Also been running errands and picking up stuff. Bought a new table and chair set for my kitchen and was putting that together last night. Pretty warm and humid here, so not into too much right now. Work up a sweat just trying to get something accomplished.

Miss Mermaid, I know how you felt in that storm you were in a few days ago. I had similar experience on my trip west last year on my way home. Extremely bad storm hit the campground in Kennebec, SD in middle of night. None of us had chance to head for the safety of the buildings. Molly woke me up as I was sleeping. Had felt the trailer kind of shudder a bit but thought nothing of it till she woke me up and I saw all the lightening going on and the power going on and off. Then really felt the trailer starting to shake. By that time was fully awake, put on some socks etc., grabbed my hat and coat and leashed Molly and we stumbled from trailer to my truck. Was drenched by time I got her in . Spent rest of storm sitting in truck feeling the shuddering of it all. By the time all was said and done, one large 5er had been tipped on it's side despite being hitched to the truck, and a pop up camper two sites over was also flipped on side. The one behind me stayed up right but was turned sideways. Needless to say, those of us in park all crowded into the main building once the storm subsided. Women, men, children, dogs, babies, you name it and stayed there till we knew no more were coming and then returned to our rigs. Some opted to go to the courthouse where there was a storm shelter and sleep the rest of the night. When daylight came, I found that an aluminum picnic table on my site had been picked up and flipped into side of my trailer and punched a hole in siding. Also, all the jack blocks I had under my stabilizer jacks were gone  Found them later a couple of sites over and in the road out front. The roof of the campground office had been ripped off, letting rain pour in and destroyed the computer system and all the stuff in the little store. Winds were cocked at 90 miles an hour. Kennebec's big grain elevator had also been shredded and I saw pieces of metal laying across the expressway when I left. SD campers who were in the park assured me that storm was not the norm for out that way.

Sounds like you gals in PA are enjoying some good weather and soon to be good company too. Have fun. Martha, I too got a kick out of your long nosed buddy in the pond. Hope it left though. Alice, sounds like you are making progress in purging and Catherin, good luck on living situation. JudyJB, enjoying your tales of family and your outings. Over the years I have gotten to where I like being in campgrounds were people are around. Maybe it's cause I live alone and am not around people that much.

Heading off to town this morning for two new storm doors for the house as neighbor and son are going to install them and also do some remodeling on the deck for me. Things are shaping up slow but sure here.

Hope you all have a nice day out there. Keep cool and watch those storms, the which of will be here this afternoon. Stay safe.

Gmorning all:)

Two days in a row for me to open? Sue, you must be really busy with all your new house projects to not be greeting us each morning ;)

Quick post though, since I have a guest sitting here with me for coffee, and NOTE TO BETH: my guest, LindaMac, the screen name she used, wants to get on our forum, but cannot post on introductions for some reason? Will you please look into that?? She admits she may not have received the msg with a password reset, since she has so many different email accounts. She kinda rivals you, Anita, our google guru hahahahah

Okay, glad to hear everyone seems to be doing well. Carold, good of you to catch us up on your life. Louise, glad to see you posting more often; a garden lady, like me:)

Ok, y'all have a great day & be safe wherever you are 8-)

Sue, I don't think I had ever heard how bad the storm was you were in. A lot of people don't care about TV when they are camping but I want to see the local weather. Since I now have a smart phone I can check the weather on it if I can find it. I'm getting along with it better.

I just got back from Lafayette. My younger son had an appointment with a dermatologist. I wanted to make sure that he kept the appointment since that is mine and Harold's doctor too. And that he was prescribed something he could afford. The last time he went to another dermatologist the doctor prescribed some cream that was $800. I want to know how much of a kickback he is getting on that. I don't know who he thinks can afford $800 medicine.

I stopped at Field and Stream to get a life jacket in case I decide to go boating. I lucked out, most of the life jackets were 1/2 price. I thought about going to Costco but ran out of steam. I still need to get some groceries for this weekend but I'll wait until tomorrow or Thursday morning when I head out.

Yesterday when I went to Petsmart I was going to get some more goldfish for one of the water troughs. They want $5 for a goldfish. Are they crazy. I never could get anyone to help me. I was going to ask where the cheap fish were. lol

Just set up my laptop, should have done it before this, but the place is at the back of the house and the kids are usually at the front. Their older brother is home so I'm not totally in charge right now :D DD has wifi in her house, which is so nice for me !!

Still waiting to hear from rv place, will have to call in the morning and let them know they don't have forever on it, just because I left it. Hated doing that, but couldn't be helped, the job will take awhile I know. Also have a step recall notice and they are going to see if they will be allowed to do it. In notice said something about dealer where it was bought, I'm NOT going way back there !!! So do hope they can do it, she knew right away what I was talking about, more so then I did

Martha, I love your post, you usually leave me smiling, in some ways you think so much like I do about things :D Sue, you plum wear me out, with all your doings !! Also, Carolb, can you buy that energy somewhere   I've done some weeding around pool area, but sooooo hot, only short periods of time I can be out doing it, if I'm out, I'm in the pool at other times  Everybody seems so busy or on the road seeing the sights, if only weather were better for some.

Speaking of weather looks like we're blowing up a storm or some rain outside, I'm setting right by double glass doors, so will be end of my time on here if it gets worse.
Just wanted to add my two cents for today, well actually maybe half a cent

Hope all are staying well and SAFE ,
CArol
