Wow, at 55 lbs, so much for "carry it anywhere"!
I found this other break down yak...ORU - REI carriers them. Have heard a lot of great things about it and will probably get one in the next month of so.

It does look inviting but my 66 year old body and long legs would still find folding itself into and out of the boat more difficult and twisty than I want to deal with. Stuart also would not know where to ride....and if another Golden Retriever ever found a way to travel with us just where would he/she fit? I will stay with my Sea Eagle inflatables and my Remi sized Hornbeck. I have both flat water and white water options covered. :)

I keep looking at Kayaks and then I think about the waters around here that I could kayak in. Some of the women are bringing Kayaks to the campout next weekend. Someone posted pictures of the alligators at that campground and I think nope, not me. We have a small alligator in our pond and I think that sucker would try to get in with me or at least take a bite of the kayak. As much as they tell people not to feed the alligators, people still feed them. Any that see people all the time are not very afraid.

Martha, it helps that the only times I have kayaked in FL is in the winter months when it is cooler and they are all rather subdued and out sunning themselves trying to stay warm enough...... Now southern warmer FL  I have seen some water down there I would not go in anytime of year.

A little too pricey for me! But interesting concept.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
