Happy Birthday U.S.A. Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Happy Birthday U.S.A. Monday

Postby Birdie » Mon Jul 04, 2016 1:38 am

Happy 4th of July celebrations to each of you. I hope it is a fun day for you. Just helped Canada celebrate their 149th, or so the signs say! It is a very cool 61* here near Cavendish, Prince Edward Island. I did awaken to a very quite campground at 2:45 a.m. Atlantic time, which is one hour earlier than EDT. The skies are so gorgeous with the stars sitting just about in hands reach. Today will be another day of site seeing and then this evening we will start the process of breaking camp and moving on tomorrow to Antigonish, Nova Scotia to watch some of their Scottish Summer Highland Games. I will be doing some birding, okay a lot of birding! For those of you being over heated, may you have a few clouds and a little breeze; the rainy parts light sprinkles if you need the moisture; the windy parts a refreshing breeze for you; the cold parts may you warm up a bit today; the fires should lay flat and become embers.

May you and yours have a safe and happy celebration. This is my first WiFi connection and I am behind reading up on your activities since July 1. I hope that you all are doing well. Okay, back to see if sleep will come visit again...it is cold!

Happy 4th of July. Quiet here. Course it's only 830 a.m. Fireworks for this area were Saturday night and I was in the U.P. of course and their's in Michigamme were last night so I missed them all the way around. That's okay. Few pops around here last night but otherwise quiet. Whether or not anybody does anything today remains to be seen, but last year was quiet, so not expecting anything this year either. Doesn't matter anyway. Dogs don't care.

Birdie, so glad to see your cheery post this morning. Sounds like you are in a beautiful place up there in Canada. I have yet to see that part of it. Been to all the others, but not the Maritimes so far. Enjoy.

Off for some grocery shopping this morning. Need some staples and I know those stores will be open today. Getting to where most don't close on holidays anymore except Christmas. Might do a few outside things today. Going to be a bit too warm this week to do much out there though.

So have a wonderful 4th everyone.

Glad you are enjoying Cavandish, Birdie. Other than the Cabot Trail, don't miss the towns on Lunenburg and Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia. Lunenburg has a great city campground right next to the Visitor Center that is nice and not too expensive. Also, you can walk to town from there. Lunenburg is known for being a seaside town with incredibly painted houses. Check out my blog here: http://grandmajjb.blogspot.com/2015/09/ ... rg-ns.html One of my favorite places I would go back to in NS.

I am catching up on things and then headed over to my kid's house to make a pineapple upside down cake for her 4th party. Haven't made one in a few decades, but used to watch my mother make them all the time. Nice weather today, and will be cool enough to take a jacket for tonight.
