Trudy, that's a neat candle site.....I lit a candle there, too. Thanks. I need to bookmark it.

Nan, my best wishes and prayers are with all of you. Infections are scary things. My hearing loss is the result of an infection that fought of antibiotics - until they used one so strong that worked, and took away my hearing. I'll never regret that. I hope that she has no losses with this and they can find the right antibiotic and cure for her.

Big hugs to each of you also.

Nan, I know you are very worried. My husband was diabetic, and I know that even if that is not the source of the infection, diabetes can complicate healing. Remember, that what seems impossible to man is always possible for God. I am praying that he will give you calm assurance and the peace that passes all understanding. You DIL (daughter-in-law) will be in my prayers, starting right now.

UPDATE: Surgeon came in to see Deb today. He said surgery is not needed at this time. They changed the antibiotic again. Deb said today for the first time in weeks she was able to turn over without pain. So with your prayers and good thoughts it seems maybe we are beginning to see some positive progress. My son has stayed with her all day at the hospital. We talked today, and seems we were all thinking the same thing last night but would not say it out loud. Can't tell you how much relief we all feel. But please continue to pray until Deb is home and her old self again.

I'm glad they don't think surgery is needed at this time. My thoughts and prayers will stay with all of you while this is ungoing. More hugs.

Nan...thanks for the update. I've been thinking about you all today, and hoping for a bit of positive direction on this. Take care of yourself, now, too, and try to get some much-needed rest.
