An Upper Peninsula Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

An Upper Peninsula Monday

Good Morning from Michigan's Upper Peninsula,

Cloudy and cool here this morning in MIchigamme. Feels good after the upper 80 degree weather we have had over the weekend. Girls and I arrived here yesterday morning for a week's vacation. Time to relax and enjoy life now that the business of home selling, moving, settling in etc. are done. Places to go and things to see lined up for this week. Today though might just be a relax and not do much of anything day. The dogs were out exploring the place yesterday, running around and chasing each other and just having a good time being free of fences and leads. This is Piper's first trip to the U.P. as we Michiganders call it.

Thanks for starting coffee yesterday Evie. I was busy getting ready to hit the road. Had a uneventful drive up and there were a lot of RV's on the road heading home too. I will be joining them next Sunday when I head back south. Resort of booked for the holiday weekend. I have a reservation at Mitchell State Park in Cadillac for the 11th-13th of July. Will be first time out with my trailer this year. Then will be returning up here to the U.P. the end of the month for about a week and a half at 3 different state parks.

Meantime, just wanted to get coffee on this morning and say hi. Time to wash hair, get dressed, make bed and take the girls for a walk. Hope yu all have a nice day out there.

Good morning to all. Thank you for the early coffee. Enjoy your vacation! We will be on the road again today heading only 100 miles to Boise where we have friends. Will stay on their mini ranch. After that not sure what we'll do. Weather here has taken drastic change will be in HIGH 90's maybe even 100 for at least the next week. Almost as hot as Vegas.
We haven't traveled in summer for so long I didn't think about 4th of July coming up. We have no reservations anywhere - oops. Going to try some campground north of Boise and see if we can find anything.
Still trying to get used to this smaller RV. Cooked our first dinner in it last night. Because the counter and stove are on the slide so are raised about 4 inches from the main floor it is a little awkward for me to reach, being height impaired. Also sink has one deep skinny side and one wide side. Need to figure out best way to do dishes. Need a new strainer to fit the skinny side I think.
Been reading Liz blog and the Oregon coast sounds nice. We always used to go there when living in CA but haven't been for years.
Barbi sorry about your vacation - that was scary. Hope the rest of you on the road have good weather and fun. Drive careful.
Wrote on the blog about visiting a Japanese relocation camp here in Idaho. Very interesting. Met a man who had lived there.

Good morning! Ah, Sue, a well earned week away! Enjoy! And Alice, sounds like you've had a busy time with young ones! I usually only have one or two GS's a day at a time and I just about go crazy trying to figure out what to do with them! I usually try to figure out someplace to take them that might be new and fun for them. In other words, I get to spoil them!

Looks like we might get some rain today. We need it, amazing how fast things dry out. Just glad we aren't getting what they got on WV. Vet appointments for the boys this afternoon, one needs rabies shot and both Lyme shot. Then I need to remember to get health certificates for them. Need updated ones to put in the RV. Never been asked for proof but figure if I don't have them that would be the time someone would want them.

I'm in the purging mood again! I spent a good part of the week end getting rid of stuff. It'll last for awhile until I hit a wall and have to take a break from it! Glad I don't have to do this on any time schedule!

I'm waiting to hear from the insurance company about my awning. Needs to get fixed one way or the other but sure hope it comes through.

Shelia, another step forward. I'm sure you'll be able to find just what you want! Carol, say hello to Boise for me! That's the area my parents came from and I still have relatives in the area. Liz, the Oregan coast is so beautiful! Thanks for taking us along! Oh, and Catherine, your daughter is gorgeous!

Ok, time to finish my coffee and get something done! Hope you all have a good day wherever you are and whatever you do. Travel safe!

Did some riding around downtown Napa on my bike this morning and took some photos of interesting buildings and houses. Then on to the ophthalmologist's office to get a retina scan. Got to go back tomorrow to get another kind of scan and meet with the doctor. Hope there are no changes since February. Will be posting to my blog in about an hour, so you might want to check then.

Going to be 99 today, so am huddling inside to keep cool. we will be taking a short trip on Thursday and Friday to the beach, so that will be fun and cooler, also. Since we are all going in my motorhome, I need to repack the stuff from underneath the dinette/bunk area to other places so I can make up the bunks.

I did zero today. It has been threatening to rain all afternoon but hasn't yet. Ava, thanks for mentioning Bass Pro. I finally remembered to order some fishing bobbers from them. There is one kind we like and I can't find them anywhere but there. A Field and Stream store opened in the Costco mess but they have about the same thing Walmart has. Just more of it.

Shiela, glad you got your truck sold. Hope you can find one you can use.

I envy everyone that has found some cooler weather. I would like to go somewhere until I go out in the heat.

Spent yesterday unloading my Jeep and organizing my garage. Went to see that apartment last night. It is cute and all my stuff would fit in there but there are hardly any windows and she has a chocolate lab who doesn't like cats and there is no door separating the upstairs from the downstairs. I decided to pass on it. Will keep looking...

After work today I met the guy from the on-line dating site. We had a really nice conversation. He is really nice and has a great sense of humor. And he looks better than his photos (which were nice to begin with!). We seem to have a lot in common. We are planning to have a "real" date soon!

Got a call today from the police department by my dad's house. My dad's renter called them about the lottery scammer situation which is totally out of control. The officer wanted to know why we kids are not doing anything about it. I told him we have tried but keep hitting dead ends. When I told him that the last time I called his police department and asked them to come out and talk some sense into my dad two months ago, that officer refused to come out because he said it would do no good anyways. This guy was really angry about that saying they should always follow up on a request like that. He said he would do whatever he could to help us get some help for my dad. He later called and left a message saying he talked to his supervisor about contacting adult protection but his supervisor told him they wouldn't do anything. He said he was going to talk with them anyways and see what they say. I will call him back in the morning and find out what happened with that.

So, once again I am very stressed out! Need to go to bed early tonight since I open the shop in the morning. I am on a split tomorrow but for some reason, someone offered to take my second half, so I said OK to that!

I am rambling here so I better drink some Baileys and get ready for bed!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
