Warming Up Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Warming Up Friday

Morning,

Thought I had better get back on here. Just been busy working out in the new yard while we had the cooler weather. Lots to do out there, but am caught up now. Fencing is done, with a couple of minor things needing done later, grass cut and trimmed. One small tree trimmed up a bit, railings on sides of deck removed and open up the deck dramatically Going to redo the ends and make a long step type deck coming off the main deck with rails on both ends. Like a wide stairway off a porch. Got a big pile of stuff needing to be hauled away, old wood etc. Got my new little glass table for my porch put together as I plan to eat out there since it's so nice. Gave the porch a bath yesterday. So just been busy doing things out there. Got a lot done here this past week. Still boxes to unpack, but not stuff I need right now, so they can wait for a rainy day if we ever get one. House cleaning day today as am getting ready to leave on Sunday.

See that a lot of you are experiencing some awfully hot weather. Gonna have to come north. The pictures of those fires out west are terrible as well. Hope Barb has a good time and good weather on her camping trip. I'm in the mood for a GTG in late Aug or early Sept Anybody got any ideas for a good place. I know there is one planned for IL in late Aug and one for early Oct. but would be nice to have one inbetween before the really cooler weather sets in. How about OH, any place good down that way. Tina?

Well, time to get busy here before it starts getting too warm. This house needs a really good cleaning, but I won't be doing that today. Just a general cleaning. But it actually needs a good repainitng. Don't know how long it's been since it's been done. Will hire a painter to do the ceilings. Original owners had hooks for hanging plants or what not all over in here and I have a lot of holes to fill in. Good fall and winter projects and maybe even rainy days. But today is cleaning the bathrooms, dust and vac and then will head to town later this afternoon. So ya all have a great day out there.

Good morning to all from Jackpot, NV. We finally found cooler weather. Almost cold this morning, but will warm up into high 80s by this afternoon. And in a couple of days will be in the 90's here in Idaho. So glad we will be dropping in altitude today, going to a little town between Twin Falls and Boise for the weekend.
Plan on staying in Boise a few days to see if we can get an insurance adjuster to look at the damage the guy did to our awning as we left Vegas. Bill is afraid the whole strut will have to be fixed.
We seem to be in the only area where the weather is nice. LV is still HOT. Stay safe if you're on the road.

Sue, I wish I had your energy. It took a Directv problem to even make me clean my office. I can actually walk in here. :o

I have to bring Hank for his heart worm shot at 2:00. I'm trying to decide whether to go to town early and run errands or go later. It's too hot to leave him in the car. I need to ask the vet if Annie can have another allergy shot. She is scratching and licking again. The last shot lasted 11 weeks. She scratches until her ears and neck have scabs.

The RVW Heart of Dixie Chapter has a rally in Pine Mountain, Georgia this weekend but that's too far for me. I have missed the last 2 campouts for one reason or another. The Texas Chapter hasn't been having many rallies and most are over towards San Antonio. I wish they would have something in East Texas.

Less hot here in Napa than expected, and very windy yesterday, so very comfortable. Glad I am not in the Central Valley! Napa is sunny and relatively cool compared to just 15 miles east because it is slightly in the hills east of the Central Valley and also gets the North Bay breezes coming off the ocean, hence the great climate for wine growing.

I have had a busy week doctor and dentist-wise. A long dentist appointment on Tuesday where I had two teeth prepared for caps. Then yesterday, I went in the morning to the orthopedic hand doctor where it was determined that the really sore spot on my right middle finger was probably a small neuroma on the nerve. May need surgery, but no time for that now, since doctor is going on vacation and I will only be here another two weeks. So got a cortisone shot in it, but really don't know if this will work. Anyway, got copies of x-rays and a report to take to doctor in Ohio when I get there in late August.

Then on to Sonoma for an almost-two hour appointment with allergist to see if he could help my persistent cough. I always have trouble with breathing test because it makes me cough and messes up measurements, but they tried it several times and then gave me medicine and tried it again. FInally got a good reading and they sent me home with three prescriptions. Kids and son were waiting for me at playground and then Baskin Robbins, and afterwards I treated them to Train Town, which is a kiddie park with a train ride and a few rides. Very long day, in any case.

So today is going to be much easier. Got a teleconference at 11:00 am and need to take my bike in to nearby bike shop, but that is about all. Whew! Next Monday and Tuesday, I have eye scan test and then appointment with doctor about my eye problems. As they say, getting old is tough.
