Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Storms rolled through last night. Pretty fast too. Don't think they amounted to anything here other than some heavy rain. Cloudy this morning, but might have some peaks of sun later. Supposed to go to mid 80's and humid. Karen, I'm like you, I hate warm, humid weather. 70's are much more to my liking. That's tomorrow's forecast.

Heading ot the farmer's market this morning before dropping off some hazardous waste stuff from around here and the neighbors. They collect it once a year. The off to run some errands. Need to get the fence posts for the new dog fence which i plan to start installing tomorrow. Looks like some storms on Monday morning, so that will change my plans for Monday sort of. Neighbors two sons are going to be moving her stuff from the house then too.

Sounds like everybody's just puttering along in the summer mode. Nothing much going on. Liz of course is findng all kinds of exciting htings to see. Mikki, agree with you about Anita's big family. Mine's small too. Only 4 cousins, the which of whom I rarely see if at all.
Been noticing there's no talk of any RV trips going on much. Nobody doing anything special this year or have those who are, just disappeared and not telling us where they ventured off too  I'm starting to think RV mode a little myself. After I get back from my week in the U.P. I dn't have anything on my agenda.

But for right now, the agenda is a bit full at least till end of next week. Already making plans for some outside work around the new house and fore see a landscaping company coming in to do some clean up for me. Not that the neighbor who is leaving, didn't care for hte yard, it's just the stuff like cut up trees and what not still there from the original owner. Time to get that junk hauled out and spruce up the area a bit. That house has never had much "curb appeal" so to speak. Recent neighbor has done a lot but still more to do. I know I can improve it and it will be fun doing it too.

So guess I will start getting ready for the day here. Those of you out east, storms heading your way I guess. Those down south, keep cool. But everybody have a nice day.

Good morning Sue and others,

Working day for me today and tomorrow; we have 4 Labs in 3 different locations to care for this weekend. So I was up and at 'em early.

Hot and humid here today and yesterday, they say a front will move through later this afternoon and cool it back down. That's good because I'm finding I no longer can take the heat.

Cleaning house today; last minute laundry and shopping for trip, tomorrow. Not much else going on.

As far as trips go Sue, you already know all of my plans. I may sneak in a few extra weekends at the club here and there, but July is already booking up with sits. I usually like to leave July open because it's one of the busier summer months for some reason.

Have a good day! :D
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Good Morning.
I haven't posted for a long time. Life has gotten busy for 2 old retired people. Our only grand daughter was born last May. Wow! What an experience to be a Grandma! Love every minute of it. Since both parents have rotating work schedules we provide day care 2 week days and 1 weekend a month. While we love every minute of the time we spend with her, some days are exhausting. Poor little sweetheart has some health issues. She was born with a protein intolerance and it took the pediatrician and her parents months to get her on a formula that doesn't cause horrible diarrhea. She has to have a plant based formula. Other things can upset her system too. Last Monday we had her 12 month vaccinations and by Thursday she was reacting with horrible pain and diarrhea. Instead of daycare she came to Grandma and Grandpa's were she got special individual care.
We still have our 1969 Shasta and use it here. Three years ago we bought a Forest River Micro lite which we kept in Tucson. Unfortunately the park we stored it at was sold and is being "developed" into a high class condominium project. We then decided it was in our best interest to buy a lot and found a lot with a 27 ft Coachman trailer on it in Yuma. So the Micro lite is there too. WE will be spend January and February in Yuma in the future.
I gave up the Farmers Market and have narrowed my volunteer work to the Master Gardener program and our local historical society.
Some weeks I need a social secretary to keep track of where I will be and what I will be doing.
I still read the postings and try to keep up with all of the interesting things that take place with your lives.

Good Afternoon all,
Rita, so good to hear from you and see the picture of your sweet looking Breezie again. He is such a cutie. So sorry to hear you Granddaughter has health problems, I hope she will be able to outgrow them but it must be daunting to deal with. Glad you were able to find property.
Too hot here to do much, I gave up on the outdoors at 8:30 and plan to stay in the A/C till dusk or it gets cooler!

Good morning!
Happy Saturday!
So glad both closings went well for you, Sue. Now for the move & building fences & working on the yard & .... You sure stay busy!
Barbie, I loved the pic of you & Naomi - she is beautiful & looks so happy to be with you. I'm sure saying good bye is hard, but what a blessing that you have this special time together.
Anita, hope to see some pics of the wedding when you get a chance. Enjoy that precious family time. You sure are moving around a lot this summer. From sea to shining sea...
Carolb, hope you get enough sunshine between the rain to let your garden grow.
Rita, good hearing from you. These sweet grandbabies sure steal our hearts & take alot of our time, don't they. Hope things ease up for your little one as she grows. Mine just cut her another tooth yesterday - I love these precious moments of discovery with her - first laughs, rolling over, crawling, walking... absolutely precious.

Hearing about the heat & humidity folks are experiencing is more like the June weather I'm used to - not this cool, overcast June gloom stuff. While I enjoy the cool temps & even a break from the sunshine, it just isn't June unless it's hot & humid. I'm sure the heat will catch up with us out here soon enough & I'll miss these cooler days.

Folks will start arriving later this week for DD's wedding the following week. So looking forward to see my kids & grands from KS & TX - have really missed them. And we get to meet SIL's folks - a little scary but I'll survive, ;) I'm sure they are probably as nice as he is. Mostly I'm looking forward to take a week off work to cook for & hang out with the whole gang & to get this wedding behind us. Can't really complain though DD has done all the organizing & work on it, I just get called for deposits & payments. :o Her dad will pick up the bigger tab of the dinner following the wedding.

Well, I've got to give this place a thorough cleaning so I'd better get busy.
Have fun & stay safe.

Good Afternoon!

Yes, I do have a lot of relatives! My mother was one of 8, I have 27 (plus or minus) cousins who have many children! Think there are 4 generations here. Those here are my mother's oldest brother's family. Some of these I am just meeting for the first time, the rest I have seen very few times in my life. There are couple of wild ones and I don't mean the younger generation! We started out at a cousin's widow's home yesterday and then ventured into Cape May for dinner. Unfortunately, live music makes it darn hard to visit.

Everyone needs the opportunity to follow Liz around! I'd do it again in a heartbeat, but I have a little trouble keeping up! Just like I'd have trouble keeping up with Sue and her projects!!

Lyn, sorry you are having some pain issues. Rita, good to see your post, but sorry to hear about your granddaughter. Ah, Catherine, you'll have great family time, too!

Hope you are all having a good day! Safe travels!

I'm back from Atlanta, helping out with my uncle who has lymphoma. Luckily, he has a rare slow-growing type so his chemo is a lot easier than most other chemo treatments. So far, not a bit of problems, other than he was a little nervous about a tiny bit of bleeding from his port when they removed the needle. Chemo took a lot less time than was predicted, also.

However, it was a stressful few days because of how they do things--fixing dinner and cleaning up is four hours. Breakfast is at least two hours. They wipe off all groceries with antibiotic wipes, etc. They are so germaphobic, it rules their life. Then they listen to very loud political news broadcasts where everyone yells at each other--this is mostly during meals! TV is turned up because they can't hear. This is made worse as I am an exact opposite to them politically and have to try very, very hard to keep my mouth shut and be polite. Anyway, glad to be back in my home on wheels!

And I have 29 first cousins and who knows how many second cousins. 24 are from my mother's side and 5 from my dad's side. We had great fun as kids because many of us were close in age. I was 8th oldest on mother's side, and soon after it was baby boomer time, so lots right after me. Also, at one time we all lived within a three-mile radius of my grandparents--you should have seen our Christmas parties in my aunt's small house! Now I have 5 first cousins living in Florida--that I know of. I am not in contact with a few and a couple of died.

Glad you are back, Rita. And Liz is making me dizzy with all her travels and hiking!

Judy, your Aunt and Uncle are lucky to have your help. It sounds like a not so fun trip. I can't stand all the political name calling and arguing so I either mute the TV or change the channel. I hope I can remember and not aggravate my boys. Harold is already getting on my nerves. I don't know why old people have to worry about everything. I loved my mother in law to death but she would make me so tired. She wanted to pay me to bring her to the grocery store. Then she had to compare prices on everything. I wanted to tell her to not pay me and let's hurry but I didn't. When I would see an open space on a bottom shelf I seriously though about sitting on it.

I was close to most of my cousins as a kid but now we are scattered. We had 2 Aunts that lived in Dallas and that was kind of a gathering place but now they are gone.

Good to see you post Rita. Sorry your granddaughter has health issues. Thank goodness you are there to help out. My younger son was allergic to diapers with perfume. Little did we know that was just the beginning of his problems. He was deathly allergic to fire ants. He still has skin problems and digestive problems.

I went to Costco this afternoon. Boy, you can spend a lot of time and money in there. I was hungry so bought some of their chicken wraps. They are not good. I talked Scott into one but Harold was not buying it. lol

Stinky says it's time for me to go feed the outside cats. She likes to go with me and eat some of their food.
