Is there a way to upload photos here instead of putting a Flickr link?

No, we can't upload, it uses too much bandwidth. But there are several ways to share pictures, including Flickr and Photobucket. Mitch also just posted about using Facebook.

In order to post photos here they have to have some sort of "address". So the 3 mentioned above are what works here. Personally, I like the Facebook option, as I often post pictures there. Photobucket is cumbersome to me, so I'm glad to have another way to post them.

I use the Photobucket app with no problems at all. Fast and it works.

If you have your own domain/webspace somewhere, you can also post your pics in that way.

That is how I do it.

Sandi, can you post photos on the forum from your smart phone using photobucket. If you have an I-phone which I do, can you tell me how you do it. Thanks Peggy

Yes, Peggy I've posted pics from my iPhone. (See post below. This is for iPad) Download the Photobucket app for iPad. Open the app and if you don't have an account, it will ask you to set one up. Upload your pic to your Photobucket album by pressing the up arrow in the upper right corner. Then it will ask you if you want to upload from your Photo Library. Click on Photo Library and select the pic you want to upload. Once it uploads to Photobucket, click on the pic in your album to open It up. In the upper right corner is a symbol that looks like a chain. Click on it and select the second from the bottom IMG Code. Then go to your post and paste the image code there. You can do a preview to see if it looks OK. Voilá!
Sandi

EDIT: Please see my post below. The directions in this post are for iPad. The post below has instructions for the iPhone. Sorry.

Sandi, on iPhone which version of Photobucket app did you choose? There are several and all seem to have in app purchases. Will they work for free or is there payment involved? Thanks

Sorry, I guess I need to edit what I posted yesterday regarding Photobucket uploads from an iPhone. The directions I gave were actually for the version of Photobucket for iPad which I use more often just because it's bigger. You CAN upload from an iPhone, but it's a different app for the phone. If you search the App Store for Photobucket, you'll find one that says "Photobucket - Backup & Print ...." and it's free. So here are the directions for uploading pics to that version on your iPhone. Open the app and click on the three horizontal lines in the upper left corner. Then click on "Your Bucket." At the bottom you'll see an icon that looks like a cloud with an arrow pointing up. Click on that icon. It will then ask you to click on "Camera Roll." Select the pic you want to upload then click "Upload" in the upper right corner. It will then show you it's loading. Once the upload is complete, click on the pic. Along the bottom click on the square with the arrow pointing up. Then click on "Copy." "Copy Links" will be shown. Click on the "IMG" link. Then go to your post and paste that IMG link in your post. That should do it. Again, sorry for the confusion. At least I can say there are now directions for both iPhone and iPad.
