Sunny Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Saturday

Where is every one? - out enjoying the weekend?
Here in Vegas it will finally near the 100s, but not until Monday. We will be staying home mostly, just running errands. Soccer games and NASCAR on TV. Also the Jeep, Willie is in the shop. A broken front axle. That was the nose we started hearing while off roading in Utah. We are lucky we didn't end up stuck somewhere. Good thing Bill didn't put it in in 4x4 drive - then it would have gone.
We are still doing things to the new RV - getting it the way we want it. Bought some short queen sheets - hope they fit. I have two more doctor appointments/test then hope I'm done with freethinking and that nothing serious is wrong. Sure felt a lot better before the doctors got to me.
Best get out and take my walk before it gets too hot.
Be careful of weather if you're traveling.
There is hot good Mexican coffee ready and some croissants and palmeritas it you're hungry.

Morning, Carol and all. Still not quite up, but awake and reading. Congrats, Sue, on finally knowing which house will be home for you.

I saw that Sarah got Magic into her new storage area. Whew. How sad that people steal like that. When I had a storage locker my first couple years, it was broken into twice. After the second time, I gave everything else in it away. They got what I wanted most the first time. While they weren't caught, we figured who most likely broke in the second time and know how down on their luck they were. I disagree with what they did, but had they talked to me, probably would have offered them some things. Taking from Sarah's Magic was plain mean-spirited and I know how much of a violation it feels.

Linda arrived in Keystone yesterday, starts work tomorrow. Wonderful to have her back, as a friend and as a great worker. I'm planning to actually get some time off this summer! I'm actually planning 3 days with a drive to Little Big Horn for, most likely, two nights, then stopping overnight the third at Devils Tower (or vice versa)... in a couple weeks before the season gets totally crazy. Then I'll figure out another get away for a few days after Sturgis when things are calming down.

I discovered hail damage on one side of my rig from the storm a week ago. Called my insurance company Thursday. Adjuster came out and took pictures Friday and insurance company was prepared to issue a check later yesterday afternoon. Instead, I'm sending them my back info and they'll directly deposit it. I have a recommended service place up here, so Peaches and I may have to move there for however long it takes to repair. Will call them after the long weekend.

Good morning all! Looks like we all slept in this morning! I sure slept good last night! I spent most of the afternoon giving Lola a bath and I was bushed by the time I got done! I started on the roof and tried to get off the black marks but couldn't get them to go away but at least it's cleaner. I tried to use the Wash and Wax All but she had such a film of whatever that I just gave her a bath but then went over her with the WWA. I have to say she looks pretty good! I thought the bird poop was from when Jim had her but realized it was from the robins here. I hung a basket with the moss stuff in it and they made a nest in it! So now I see I have baby robins! The basket didn't have dirt in it and has been hanging there for a couple of years and this is the first time it's had a nest in it! So guess I'm going to have to keep an eye on Lola and make sure to clean up after the birds! :x

Mickie, my dad was stationed at Chanute back when I was in grade school! By the time you were there I was married and in Holland! My DH was Air Force too! He retired in '82. That's how we ended up here! He was the recruiter in this area. And we too always had young troops around for the holidays!

Well, time to get going. Not sure what I'll get into today. I do need to go to Lowes and pick up a couple of things. I want to repaint the porch and apparently they have a sale on paint right now so need to at least get it so I have it! Have a good day and travel safe. (Beth, glad Linda made it and it'll be good that you'll be able to take some time off!)

Good morning, all! I missed a couple of appointments yesterday with students before I realized the alarm on my phone was not working so I changed the sound. Now I will not be embarrassed by missing something. If I don't have it written down or on my phone alarm, you might as well forget about it!!

Also, I made reservations last night in Hillsborough for the GTG. I will only be able to stay a couple of days because I will be heading north and have reservations in the panhandle on my way back west to California.

I'm in Taos, NM, for four nights (arrived last night) but lots of work to do today, so no sightseeing until tomorrow. Guess I had better get started so I can keep earning the money that pays for this lifestyle. ;)

No sun here this morning...just our normal o'cast. High of 68 and low of 62 today.

The other day when I was practicing my backing up in the lot on a main street of San Diego, a man stopped by to watch. I was having troubles as I was going into a parking spot on the left side of the road, not the right side where I did so well. He finally asked if he could help and my daughter (my spotter) said yes. It turned out he is a truck driver and gave me some good pointers. I hope I remember them!

I am so proud of all 16 police departments that participated in the security at the Trump rally yesterday. They were magnificent and there was no damage to any structures. The protesters were shouting obscenities and throwing things at the cops. The protestors were gathered at the foot of the main tourist area downtown. If those people had gotten out of hand, there would have been millions of $$$ worth of damage. The police dept said they studied films of previous protests and knew what would work in crowd control and what would not work. They did a very good job!

Judyjb, I loved Taos...I was with Elderhostel and stayed at the Mabel Dodge Luahn house...several years ago.

Good morning on another sunny nice day here in No. Central CA.

Lyn - I'm proud also for the police presence at any rally. Wouldn't it be nice if those protestors could show as much enthusiasm on a job (if they even have one) rather than being so disturbing and causing so much damage? Oh, and good job on your practice sessions.

Finally have a break here at work! The past week has been insanely busy! Been working 9 hour days and doing 30 haircuts per day with barely a break all day! I got home at 7pm last night and fell asleep on the couch for two hours. Got up to eat and went right to bed! Today i feel like a truck ran me over :o . Luckily, it is slower today so have been able to sit down once in awhile. 9 hours again today but have the next two days off!

Glad Linda made it safely to SD. I will try to get out there this summer.

Break time is over. Gotta go!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
