Sarah I am so sorry this happened. Just so wrong. I have spent the last couple of days shopping for new insurance as my rates just keep on increasing instead of decreasing every year. I finally settled on one and saved $350 and way more insurance for less money. I insured my contents for $10,000 for only $20 more so your incident just reinforced I did the right thing by upping the amount. I hate shopping for insurance and had to make sure I was comparing apples to apples but think I did okay

I went with Progressive. All the insurance companies had mixed reviews so decided it was kind of a crap shoot. A couple of my friends have Progressive and got good service so that tipped me over. I was with National Assurance (aka Good Sam) went up to $1085 per year Progressive was $745 so pulled the trigger with them.

Not looking good on insurance. Damage to RV is covered but that really isn't too bad (as far as I know at this point) and I have a high deductible. Does not appear they will cover much, if any, content even things like sewer and water hoses, heavy duty extension cords, leveling blocks etc. All of that gone - actually pretty much everything in outside storage compartments.

Homeowners does include contents but not sure what all yet. However high deductible there may negate most of it. Will be a while before I know.

Today I did joyfully discover that my new expensive, maintenance free house batteries are still in place (forgot to look yesterday) and I found the missing dogs bowls under some of the stuff that was dumped on floor.

Poor Nicky did loose his new lighted collar, thunder shirt, and Furminator among other things.

Sad to say also noticed even more items missing like all my small appliances and linens.

Took lots of photos before starting to pick up stuff and still working on list of missing items insurance company and police both want. A lot left to do.

I am slowly coming to terms with fact that its just stuff but cannot shake the horrible invasion of privacy and violation feelings. Just wasn't comfortable in there this afternoon.

Sarah, it seems there is more of this all the time. I know this is a terrible blow and you do feel violated. I wish there was a way for you to keep Magic at your home. I live in an area where people didn't lock their houses and cars until a few years ago. There have been several breakins this year and there is an anger element in these people. They not only steal, they take the time to trash and damage what is left. We live in a different world but I still believe most people are good. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I hope you're feeling a little better today, Sarah. Is there anybody local who can go out to the trailer with you? Sometimes having good company helps with that 'invaded' feeling.

Oh, Sarah, I'm so sorry and I know exactly how you feel because my Flitter was broken into twice since I moved here 5 years ago. AND she was parked inside a gated storage space with 12 ft. high razor topped fence! It's a senior community and I imagine someone's grandson or nephew took grampa's gate opener or something. Second time there was a homeless family sleeping in it. Freaked me out! Went through a couple cans of Lysol! And, yes, insurance is practically useless because the loss doesn't total a whole lot over the deductible. Even if it did cover everything, your rates might double for the next few years.
