Sunshine Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunshine Sunday

Good Morning,

The dogs and I are up before the sun this morning. Mosquito's are too I think. Had breakfast and they have been out and now back in. Going to wash hair in a short bit and relax a bit before heading off to mass. Need to stop at WalMart and get some computer ink. Got some yesterday as was out of one color and wouldn't you know, right after I put that one in, another one decided to give up the ghost  Printer is busy these days with all these real estate contracts etc.

No word as yet on whether or not the people with the contingency are going to be able to raise the funds to buy the house. Tomorrow is the deadline. Neighbor is heading to NY this morning to take care of some business this week and will be back by week's end. Since it's going to be in the low 80's today, will probably pack up some more stuff in the house as too hot to work out in the sun and other than gathering my outdoor decorations to one place for moving, really don't have much to do out in yard. Was going to do that after dinner yesterday as well as loosen up some dirt in a flower bed and yank out the weeds, but mosquito's drove me out of the yard.

Anita, hope you can get everything under control so you can start for N.C. without having to drive like a maniac. Looks like the gals are getting settled in Giant City SP. I'm sure we will hear of their adventures as the week goes on.

Off to wash my hair here and watch a little TV for a short. Have a nice day everyone :)

I was really P o'ed this morning i told her she was a bad girl... then later when she didn't want to eat her breakfast and was hanging her head and I felt bad... scratched her belly told her she was a good girl then she ate her breakfast and now is curled up and napping.. I was looking over all the mess I have here meaning all my possessions helter skelter all over the place... I don't have one storage area that I can put everything in ...it just makes a mess I try to do something about it and then I get overwhelmed ...I should take my own advice and started in one little corner of one room and go at it... I definitely do not like Florida this time of year the only time I can do anything is early in the morning and I can't get everything done if I wasn't so tired I could do it late evening too because it does cool down then a little oh well enough of my soap opera... have a good day & B safe...donna

Good Morning. First I want to thank all of you for your words of condolence. It was a rough couple of weeks but we made it through it. The funeral was Tuesday. The prayer service and funeral were bittersweet. I saw people from my hometown that I haven’t seen in ages. When I would go to see mom it seemed that I would be at the house or nursing home and that would be it. Mom taught for many years and so many former students were there. At the prayer service many of them spoke about what they remembered about 4th grade and Mrs. Collins….. there were a lot of good laughs. One of my friend’s brother told about carving his name in his desk the first day of school and that he had to stay in a noon hours and recesses until he had sanded it all off…he thought it was his first inkling that he wanted to be a carpenter! Also there was elderly gentleman at the funeral and dinner and we had absolutely no idea who he was. Found out that he was an 8th grader the first year that mom taught in a county school in 1940. He was 88 years old and told us that he had had a terrible crush on mom. He had driven close to 60 miles by himself to attend the funeral. Wednesday morning Mary Ann and I divided up the cards into piles of hers, mine or either one of us to write thank you cards…writer’s cramp by the time we were finished. We got those finished and late afternoon I came home. Slept like the dead that night.

Needless to say it’s doesn’t seem like May is 2/3 over to me. The month is a bit of a blur. I’ve tried to read posts to catch up and really haven’t succeeded.

Have a good day.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Good Morning All, Donna, thanks for the reminder about the eye drops....I left my hearing aids on my bedside table last night and forgot about them. As soon as I read your post I jumped up and put them where they belong...my daughters dog comes into my bedroom every once and awhile (after the cat) and dogs love to chew up hearing aids!
Pat nice report on your Mom's funeral...interesting about all the former students attending.
I'm going over to visit with the other daughter today. And, get the tail gate put back on my truck. In a couple of weeks I will get the new cap put on the truck.
Sun is coming out...have a good day all, lyn

Good morning!
I was woken up with a phone call from work. Seems the til was short by $120 this morning and I closed last night! Oops! I jumped out of bed and drove over there to help figure out what happened. Turns out when I did the drawer last night it was a -$60 (too many credit card transactions and not enough cash will do that sometimes). I didn't notice the "-" so I put $60 in the deposit. We were able to fix it since I didn't bring the deposit to the bank last night. I told them that this is why I am a hair stylist and no longer an accounting clerk, since I almost put Cargill out of business when I worked there!

So with that solved, I came home and decided to take Lola out for a walk in the back courtyard. She did pretty well for her first time out there. She is naturally skittish so she didn't move around too much but she was fine with the harness and leash. Hopefully, she will get more comfortable out there each time and start enjoying the birds and chippies out there. I gave her a treat when we got back.

Nice day today, 80 and sunny! A bit of a breeze coming across the lake but I might still try and get out on the kayak before all the boats get out there later.

I am planning to drive down to see the ferrets tomorrow afternoon. Hoping the weather isn't too bad. Supposed to be possible nasty storms coming thru, so will play it by ear and see. Am working for an hour and a half in the morning to cover for a coworker who needs to go to a funeral, and then will see how the weather is by then.

Lots of indoor stuff to do today but will do that later after I do fun outdoor stuff! Gotta go dig out my box of shorts now...

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning,everyone.
What a busy group!
Donna, how frustrating to get your eye drops chewed up so often. It was interesting though how Phoebe wouldn't eat until she was on your good side again. She really has bonded with you. :D
Sue, we all look forward to find out how your housing deals work out.
Lyn, backing up already with that new TT - excellent!! And done with PT - way to go! Soon you'll be on the road again.
Anita, hope your generator problem is easily fixed.

Nancy, so happy to see you back online. I think you actually introduced me to this forum years ago when you were selling your Chinook. I'm pretty sure I inquired about it but my brother thought that engine was bigger than I needed - that's probably why Chinooks are so easy to drive - they have all the pick up & power you need. I still perfer the layout & size of Chinooks to anything out there. I'll be praying that you find one that is perfect for you. And still hope to meet you down the road someday.

Pat, That was interesting about the older gentleman who drove so far for your Mom's funeral. And hearing how you divided up the cards for thank you's reminded me of how we all got together to do the same after our Mom's funeral.

Well, our little princess was Baptized yesterday. Her other grandparents put on a party that was comparable to a wedding reception! They've set the bar pretty high for future celebrations. Poor baby though was exhausted & cranky as the day continued on... I always hold back & let other family members tend to her when I'm at their house but was honored when my DIL asked if I could put her down for a nap - she said she knew I was the only one who could comfort her - made my heart melt to pat that little bottom as she finally got a nap in. I absolutely adore that little one!

Well, not much else to report - going to get a little work done today & then straighten up around here.
Take care. Catherine

Gorgeous and sunny sitting on the hill here at Cochiti Lake, except really, really windy. Shaking my motorhome. I really like this campground for the paved, very large camping sites, and the price of only $10 with water and electric for us with the geezer pass. Real bargain and a great place to stay a while and relax.

I drove into Santa Fe yesterday to try to get my bike pedal bent back into shape, but the two bike repair people just could not do it, so will somehow have to find a new set of pedals. It is really hard to get parts for these electric bikes.

Then I drove downtown to the farmer's market and bought some radishes, tiny white turnips, and baby bokchoy. Nice to find food at a market instead of just crafts! Santa Fe was extremely busy so no place to park in the only lot that can handle big vehicles. This is one of the few times that not having a toad is a real problem. Called the museum and asked if today or Monday would be the best day, and they warned me that today would be even worse than yesterday because of a low-rider show bringing thousands. So I will get work done today and go tomorrow.

Good news that my uncle's lymphoma is much less serious than I had thought when I went to be with them about 5 weeks ago when he had a lump removed from the back of his knee. Nothing in his bones, and only three small spots on his legs and buttock, which is really good for non-Hodgkin lymphoma! My son had it all over his body and maybe in bones five years ago and is doing fine.

Barbie, I am lucky if my checkbook with a few dollars of being balanced, which absolutely drives my cousins who work in banks nuts! I figure close enough is good, and it's not worth my time to agonize over 97 cents, so I would not want to cash out a work register either, :o
