Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday

Gmorning all :)

Guess it has been quite a while since I've posted, but I have been reading. Was hoping Sue would be here first thing to report on her house inspection results, but alas, I'm here to open our MC:)

Anita, didn't know about your trailer getting hit--someone mentioned insurance, so I hope that covers it. Lyn, so happy to hear about your TT & towing practice. Do you have a trip planned? Some of you off on trips, so safe travels. Martha, I'm glad we had the walk to your pond, so I could picture you out there fishing:)

Still at cousin's camp driveway, been running furnace every night! Sun up early these days, but has been too cold to get out. So I've been doing a lot of reading--LOL, that's why I haven't been here much: when I get involved in a book, the world around me disappears into nothingness! Going home today to work in the yard--was there yesterday too, & bro & I planted some things already--broke the rule of "no planting before Mem Day" so will have to be prepared for any late late late frost.

Hope y'all have a great day! Be safe, happy & healthy 8-)

Morning Carolb and all who follow

Carol, I was still in bed when you posted this morning  Was up about 20 minutes later but having breakfast and all the good stuff and...... I'm an early bird, but you are earlier. Or at least this morning anyway. Hear ya on the cold mornings. Been that way too and what we have usually heads your way. Temps heading up, so hopefully this is the last night for having to put my flower pots inside.

Okay, to the inspection. It went very well. In fact my agent said it's probably one of the best ones he has ever seen. There were about 3 small issues that the buyers wanted addressed. One care of, one amounted to nothing. Just need to have some breakers updated in the power box and will be all set. Hoping electrician gets here today for that. Then the inspection contingency will be lifted and I can proceed with my offer on my neighbors house :D Closing dates will be coming up fast, so must make sure that I keep on things. My buyers had their closing moved up from June 7 to June 3rd, so will probably be closing with me between June 5-8 now. Then i will have 21 days to vacate. They have a truck bringing their stuff up from TX after their closing, so that's why they are not taking immediate possession. If I am lucky and get my neighbors house, that will be vacated the 14th, so I can start moving stuff in anytime from that day forward. Lots gonna happen in the next few weeks here. So today am going to start bringing up boxes and stuff from the basement to garage and clear out the basement. Then can start working on packing up stuff here and there in the house that's left. Should be an easy move. Need to talk to utility companies to find out about services when time comes. That lake house that i turned down cause of all the issues, is having a new roof installed and the chimney repaired up there. So my inpection I had done must have woke up the family to the fact they had better get some improvements done or they won't sell it. Buyers are savy these days, so ya gotta keep on top of your game.

Rosemary, enjoyed reading about your trip. Sounds like you had a nice time and glad your TT performed well for you. I've had mine for going on 4 years now and haven't had an issue with it yet. Everything has performed like it should. Right now it's up at the local RV place getting it's spring maintenance done. Lyn, also glad to see you are enjoying playing with yours too.

Sounds like everybody's doing okay for now, just trying to enjoy summer. Sorry some of you are getting so much rain, We could use some here as we are dry and fire danger is high again. Doesn't look like any till next week at earliest. IL GTG starting up this next week, hope you gals all have a good time. I will probably be canceling my June reservations as they fall right in the middle of moving out time. But can keep July's. Campgrounds will be there.

Guess I will get cleaned up and wash hair. Molly always gives me my morning washing when she wakes me up. Face, ears, arms etc. but she doesn't use soap  Don't know if electrician will call this morning or not. Hate having to wait for calls like that. Although like I said, will be working between house and garage anyway. Hope yout all have a nice day today.

Mornin' Carol, Sue & all that follow ~~~
I know what you mean about still having the furnace on Carol. I haven't shut mine off yet, and it still pops on around 5 AM. Sue so glad to hear the inspection went well. We all know you keep things in tip-top shape so no surprise there. Dontcha love doggie wakeups? Zorro has never been a bother in the A.M. He's old now and doesn't wake up until I walk out of the room. Punk on the other hand has at least learned to stop the paw slaps, but you know how it is when you think someone is watching you? That's Punks wake up tactic now. I'm safe from his wanting attention, that is until I open my eyes then all bets are off.

As of last night, Eileen is hoping to get down to the GTG at Giant Springs for a night or two. Another yea! Need to get some groceries tonight and cut the grass, then I'll be all set (hopefully) to go hitch Colt in the early A.M. tomorrow and hit the road. Looks like some storms are scheduled down there mid-next week. Well at least the leak has been fixed that I discovered in Shipshe last year.

That's about it. Have a good day ladies & stay safe on the roads.

The storm that was coming from Texas got here about 8:00 last night. We were under a tornado watch for a while and there were so many lightening strikes it looked like daylight. The weather radio said we could have gusts up to 70mph. There are limbs and leaves all over the yard. One pretty big limb fell out out the oak tree in the front yard. Of course our electricity went off and didn't come back on until 1:40. Out electric coop had 21,000 customers without power in the area and 9,000 just in our parish. I'm surprised we got power back that soon because we are on a side line with only 5 houses. I need to get some more of the night lights that come on when the power goes off. Try to find a flash light in the dark. I'm afraid Harold will fall.

Cheryl, Punk reminds me of my older son when he was little. On Saturday mornings when I was trying to sleep in he would come stand by my bed and stare at me. If that didn't work he would try to open my eyes. Be glad Punk can't do that.

Good morning all. Good to hear from you CarolB! And Sue, glad you got a good report! Sounds like things are going to be busy for you the next few weeks! It's been cold here in the mornings too. I usually don't need the furnace this time of the month but with the dampness I've turned the thermostat up a few times!

Got a call from Jim last night and he said Lola was going to be done and he's working on the other one today so we are set to be able to pick them up tomorrow! When I get her home I need to give her a bath and she really needs a wax job too! I decided not to spend the money on getting the bath at the truck place, I can do it myself! Better I save the money for gas!! I just hope the trees are done shedding so I won't have to deal with all that stuff on the top of her! I managed to sweep the driveway yesterday and got the area I park her all cleaned up. It'll be good to have her back home!

I have to take a friend to State College today, would rather stay home and take advantage of the good weather but she works tomorrow so need to go today. Loving that the days are staying light longer so I can do some stuff outside when I get home! So that's all that's going on here. Time to quit rambling and get this day going! Enjoy your week end and travel safe.

Gayle hit town last night, so we're having brunch later this morning! Yay! They're back in MI, which means summer has officially begun -- never mind the frost. Gee, life is full of so much fun that I won't get any work done at all!

William tends to wake me up by licking me, but at least he isn't jumping all over me. That's a good thing. He was confused yesterday, because I was sleeping off my reaction to a tetanus shot. Lots of opportunities to wake me up! One of his favorite things.

Good Morning All, Sue, you are one busy lady! Wish I had that much energy. To those going to the GTG this weekend, have fun! Wish I were joining you. Cheryl I am using the "How to Back Like a Man" instructions for my practicing with the TT. Love those instructions. My daughter is my spotter and she was very impressed with my ?skill?.
Our temps today are high 67 and low 60. Yes, Barbie, 72 is San Diego weather. We are in our June Gloom period right now although it is still May!
I was released from further PT yesterday...Hooray!
Carolb did you finish the book I gave you?
I am dehydrating carrots and string beans for future camping trips. Want to get more veggies in my system while camping. As My firsts trip isn't until August, my reports on the success of this will have to wait.

It has been so long since I posted and I confess even since I checked the site. Until 3 years ago I was making my plans for full timing but life has a way of turning us in a different direction as all or most of you know. I feel like a new member after a couple of years but I'm anxious to catch up. It will take some time but I'm looking forward to it. I'm thinking I might start looking for a small motorhome. I sold my Chinook in 2012 and it was such a dream to drive I am thinking I might look for a 21' older well cared for one. They are around still I am finding. I occasionally run into women who own their own RV and I always tell them about the site. I'm looking forward to connecting with old (former) friends and getting to know new ones.

Good morning, and y'all know how I love Fridays! This being the last of the school Fridays for awhile, only4 days left of this school year. Seems like not too long ago it felt like it would never get here. Bill tells me we have tentative plans for memorial
day weekend, can't wait to find out what they are. I've researched another place in Az to check out, thinking in terms of horseback ride, but Sycamore Canyon is beautiful and only accessible on foot or horseback. Its roughly south of Williams, north
of Cottonwood, and east of Sedona. No campground there but there are campgrounds nearby. I'm putting that on my serious agenda, which is much better than the hello agenda.
Time to get busy here, bath is done, but still have to wash my hair before I go back to work. Y'all have a great day, be safe and
everyone has good weather. Enjoy your gtg.

Hi, all! FIrst, excuse my typing, as I am getting used to a new computer with larger keys. In addition, it has the accounting numerical keys on the right, which I don't use, but I am constantly hitting NumLock instead of Delete or Back! Lots of correcting, but otherwise I like it.

I went to bed at 11:30 last night and woke up at 11:00 this morning--almost 12 hours of sleep, and I got up a couple of times but I really slept hard. That's why I almost never drive 3 days in a row!! And Wednesday's drive was 305 miles. Yesterday's was long because I did laundry in the morning and got a late start because I had to go online live with some students. Then got to Albuquerque and stopped to buy a laptop case and return stuff to Bed Bath and Beyond. Ended up doing my 6:00 pm meeting with students in a parking lot, so did not get to Cochiti Lake until 8:00 and almost dark.

SO I guess I needed all that sleep! Today is my resting day, except I do have one cupboard to clean out and put in some new shelves. When I bought my rig, I loved my big upper cupboard, but stuff rattles around too much up there so I have to work on solutions.

Cochiti Lake, by the way, is COE and only $10 for paved sites and electric and water, with a fantastic view. Going to be here for 9 days if I do not have another emergency with my uncle. Near Santa Fe so lots of things to see in this part of New Mexico.

Lyn, we used to call it "May Gray" and "June Gloom".

Nancy, good to see you back on here again! Sorry to hear about what you have gone thru but happy to hear you got thru it all and are doing well! Depression is a very dark time to go thru. Been there, done that. And being scammed out of money by someone you trusted is very difficult to deal with, as well. Hope you can get a new RV and hit the road at least part-time again!

It is 71 and partly sunny today but for some reason it feels cold to me. Am sitting on my couch with a blanket wrapped around me! Am on a split shift today so will head back to work at 4pm.

My dad went to the bank yesterday and somehow got himself a $12K personal loan! The people at the bank know what is going on with him but are all too willing to keep giving him money! That money will be gone to the scammers within a month. (I could get a nice little travel trailer for that kind of money!).

Have a good day!

Late in the afternoon, but just reading about everyone and what a wonderful surprise to see Nancy back. I've wondered how you've been doing and I'm so glad to see you back. Hope it works out you find an rv and can meet up with some of us. Glad to have you back, you've been missed.

Barbie, so sorry to hear your constant concerns with your Dad. I don't understand a bank to keep handing out money to someone they know is not well. Anything to make a buck I guess and getting interest is their main job, I guess. Rotten anyway.

Lyn, I'm so pleased to hear you're well on your way to doing what you want. Sure admire the fact you can pull that tt and already mastering the backing in of it. Sure hoping to see you down the road somewhere one day.

Kind of a grey day here, have watched tv as I did minor jobs within the sound and then sometimes, have to run in and see whats happening. Getting A LOT of work done in other words, NOT !!!!

Thinking about my evening meal, cooked chicken last night, so thinking a salad and sauted mushrooms. Not sure what I'm going to do to the mushrooms is spelled right but hopefully you all know  :D

Hope you're all having a good day, and enjoying whatever you're doing, Stay Safe all,

CArol

Barbie, you should contact the bank manager and tell him what his employees did.

Nancy, what a treat to come on and see you back. And, yes, life does make us change paths frequently - but you know you are welcome here with or without an rv! You belong!

I'm running myself somewhat ragged at work right now. Fun, but not, if you know what I mean. This is a year of what will go wrong is going wrong. Liquor license snafu is finally solved but our computer is not talking to my register now and vice versa - so I can input prices, etc, but not get them through - work around is inputting prices manually at the register, so I spent most of yesterday and lots of today putting prices on products that came in yesterday for a new souvenir rack, sunglass rack and cell phone accessory rack that came in - and when things are communicating, will have to input them. Double work :) Wednesday a glass shelf on a souvenir rack broke and souvenirs went everywhere - it sounded and looked TERRIBLE. But in the end, after clean-up, it seems we only lost 4 products ... This past Saturday a customer hit the emergency stop button to the gas pumps - trying to figure out the air pump for the tires - and instead of that being an easy fix (it happens occasionally) it was an hour before I got our gas pumps working again. Then, the three new sites being built for workampers - which are part of our sites and were to be ready BEFORE I arrived are still not ready. Jake, one of my workampers, is attempting to get as much of it finished as possible, but the "maintenance" man for the owners just doesn't seem to ever have the parts for us ... He's now telling me he will have them to Jake on Monday. We'll see. If not my boss intends to find out what is still needed and go get it. So, this weekend I'll change sites for the third time so one of the workampers due in this coming week can go into and stay in the same site. I'll still be waiting for one of the new ones ... So will, if they ever get done, have changed sites 4 times. Maybe I'll finally put out my mats, etc. Barry the bear is wondering if he'll ever get out of the car. And, in the past hour we had our first hail storm of the year - just got a call from the store, phone lines are down - that means we can't take credit cards - at the pump or in the store, until they come back up. Yes, we CAN call in - but have to use our own cell phones, and it's a pain, so if I'm not there, I don't require they do that. Usually it gets fixed fairly quickly.

Meantime, Peaches has attached herself to my hip - until just now when even the rain seems to have stopped. She just jumped down.

I still have one opening - have a good prospect that I hope remains so and I can possible offer the position to. When we get into the really busy season, I think it'll be a rest from the start this year :)

Judy, glad to know you got your computer, finally. I never thought I'd want the keyboard numbers to the right, but have had them on my current and last laptop and discover I use them a lot. Now I'd hate to be without them when doing actual work on here.

Alice, yay, it's summer for you. Enjoy and take lots of pics to share with us.

Barbie - how does the bank think they'll get paid back? That's insane.
