Having Fun Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Having Fun Wednesday

Postby Colliemom » Wed May 18, 2016 6:21 am

Brrrr, chilly here. In upper 20's. But nice day ahead. Plenty of sun and 60 degrees. Warming up as week goes on. The asparagus farmers over toward the southeast from here have already lost about 10% of their crop. Al the businesses who have plants and flowers here are taking measures to protect them. I have a couple of pots of flowers, but I can take them in at night and leave them out during the day, so no worry there.

But, going to have some fun today for a change. Meeting Louise (HavingFunNow) for lunch down in Mt. Pleasant. We haven't seen each other since last fall. Will be a nice day for a drive and a welcome break for me from all the business of house selling etc. feels good to not have to keep house in order, get through inspection, the which I haven't heard on yet etc. and get a life for at least a day

Spent yesterday going to my vet for the dogs flea/hearworm meds and the after lunch worked over at my neighbors, cutting her grass and raking up some tree debris (pine needles/sticks etc.) Looking better over there. Thouht maybe she was going to have to rent hay baler if the grass wasn't cut before long. She's a widow, going on 88 and relys on some of us in the neighborhood to help with things like grass, snowblowing, repairs, etc as she can't afford to hire all that out. My reward is quite a lot of "care packages" and other goodies from time to time :D I don't mind doing it as it helps her to be able to stay in her home as long as she physically can.

Hoping you all have a great day out there today too. Enjoy the sun if you have some, rain, well, what can I say, on the road, have fun, health issues, prayers and thoughts heading your way.

Good Morning Everyone !! Not sure what today will be here, some rain, but when is anybody's guess. Sue, that is very nice of you to help your elderly neighbor out like that. Nice you're meeting Louise today, making even a short trip, sure appeals to me today :D Tomorrow have to make another trip into town to see what is causing and what can be done and how costly repairs to my RV will be. Have several issues and of course they are ones that are not covered under the extended warranty. That is always the case of course.

Today will do a wee bit more cleaning outside and have a couple storage bins on rv, want to clear some stuff out of. All of this between rain  I have to confess I am not moving along on all this stuff as fast as I had hoped. In fact yesterday I ended up not amounting to anything, woke with such plans and they went capook !!!

Won't set here long today, just wanted to wish everyone a good day, whatever you do, enjoy your time today, but stay safe, Please . I'm a little behind on this thread, so not sure what some are doing, but hope all are managing to stay well.

Have a good day,
CArol

Good morning Sue and Carol and all who follow. Big rain and thunder last night, so I slept (sorta) with dogs on top of me. Today will be slow going and I see more sleep in my near future. Good thing I got all the errands done the last couple days. Sue, so glad you'll see Louise today. Pictures? Judy, sorry to hear you couldn't speak with a state side Dell rep and sorry that you have to back track to get your computer. I was off Dell before your troubles, I had my own version of them about five years ago, and now I'm even more off them. I hope everyone is happy and healthy or on their way there. Lynn, how are you doing with loading the new TT? Catherine, how are your computer troubles resolving?

Travel safe,
Nikki

Good morning all! Another rainy cool day today. Ah, what would it be like to have a few days in a row of sunny warm weather! Sue, always fun to get away for lunch with a friend! You deserve a day out away from all you'e been dealing with! CArol, I do the same thing some days, think of all the things I want to do in a day and then don't manage to do it. Wish just thinking about it would get it done! Judy, been following your computer saga and glad you finally got it. Sure don't think I want to ever deal with Dell.

Yesterday was crazy around here! The frig guy finally came yesterday afternoon and was here for awhile! I got a little nervous when he looked at a part and wondered how it fit! But it got fixed and my pocketbook is lighter! Then it was on to getting Lola and friends RV to our "guy". Both of us need inspections and he is going to service the generator plus just generally check it out. Sure to have an ever lighter pocketbook after this too! But at least I'll know everything is in working condition. I took her out the other day to put air in the tires and I managed to come up under the mirror and put a lump on the top of my head! Boy, did that hurt! Kinda strange to look out back and Lola not sitting there! I need to give her a good bath and wax her when I get her home! Between rain drops!

That's about all the excitement for me. But the day is young and who knows what might crop up today! Hope everyone has a good day and travel safe!

Gorgeous, sunny and warm today! :D Supposed to be in the mid 70's and sunny for the next 10 days or so! Yay! Listening to the birds singing outside. Summer is here!!!

Have tomorrow off so, other than mundane things to do around here, will try to get the kayak out for a bit and see how my shoulders do with that. Yes, I am having issues with my other shoulder now too. :(

Off to work here so will keep this short. Hope you all have a great day! :D

We haven't gotten the storms that were predicted. There is a small area of rain off shore but can't tell which way it is headed. They have lowered the chance of rain until Friday. I think my sister and I could have gone to the lake. I just don't like to be up there in a storm because of all the tall pine trees.

We are having an issue with our refrigerator. It sounds like a fan behind the freezer part is going out. My son thinks we should get a new refrigerator before it quits. It is 10 years old and the front of one of the drawers has already broken. I am thinking about one with a bottom freezer but don't want to give up the ice and water in the door. That would mean one of the French Door ones and they are more expensive. Guess I will start looking at refrigerators. Would also have to decide if I want to change from white to stainless steel. I like stainless but then it would be out of step with the rest of the kitchen until everything else goes out. Decisions, Decisions.

Good Morning All, Todays weather from San Diego is: High 68 Low 60 Cloudy and o'er cast. DUH, so what else is new?

I am getting lots of practice driving the TT. I had trouble unhooking from the truck, so went back to the dealers to get more help. I had about four men and one woman out there watching! I also practiced the backing up a little in the storage yard. Beth, I see what you mean about moving the steering wheel slowly! Today I take it to get photos taken at AAA insurance. It pulls quite easily and no problems there. Now to practice more backing up today!

Back to PT tomorrow...had a nice week off. I'm not using the cane all the time, only once and awhile. Knee still hurts, but not as severely as it used to. The way I feel right now is, no more joint replacements for me! It is too traumatic on my body.

Got to stop at Wal-Mart too.

Have a great day, lyn

From what I hear if you buy a new refrigerator be prepared for it to have a problem or quit running before the year is out. I hear all sorts of horror stories from friends who have replaced theirs recently from high priced to lower. One had to have his replaced within a week and then had to have that one replaced shortly after. And repairs are a joke, the repair man my other friend had told her after several visits he couldn't fix it, and she finally got a small amount from the company toward a new one. He said they use parts from everywhere and it's hard to tell where to find replacement parts. So if yours in running and can be fixed maybe you might want to go that route. Mine is 18 years old and I'm hoping it last awhile longer.

I hear you on the "no more replacements", Lyn. If I could go back and undo mine I would, I'm only 55 and it's taken a huge toll. So glad you're loving your new TT!

Not much doing here, just getting ready for work in a bit. Really rainy the last few days, locals tell me it's just the beginning and "it'll do this every afternoon, all summer". Hmmmm

They dont make appliances like they used to. At work, our washer went out after many years. We got a new one and within two months, we had to get 3 replacements! That was thru Sears. Finally got one from another place and so far so good.

Barbie, I think I read somewhere that kenmore and Maytag are made by the same people. I got a Frigidaire washer and dryer when I got rid of the POS Maytag washer and dryer. So far so good. I think the only thing washers need is the water temperature, water level and timer. All that other stuff is just more to break but try to find a simple one. What gets me is that ever so often I get a message to clean the washer. What the heck is it doing every time it washes a load of clothes.
