Tuesday - Inspection Day

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday - Inspection Day

Postby Colliemom » Tue May 10, 2016 6:27 am

Good Morning,

Sun is coming up into a bright blue sky here. Chilly, only in low 30's, but that's normal for this time of year. I have been playing the put the flowers out, put the flowers in a night game for about a week. Eventually I can leave them out. Only one hanging basket and a pot at the moment. Might get some more once weather stays to where I can put them out and leave them. Lowe's has these really pretty pots of various colors and I am considering buying a couple of them for the new house deck.

Today is inspection day at the lake house. Will be interesting to see if there's anything really amiss, but I have a feeling not. I already know the roof needs replacing which I plan to do anyway as I don't like the washed out dark maroon red color. Also need to have new gutters installed. Siding needs a good cleaning as well. Otherwise outside is fine. Siding is something that needs cleaning up here anyway as we all get dirt, mold and what not on it. Would like to replace the two front windows too, but will have to see how funds work out. Depends on how the offers on this house turn out and what i have left after closing expenses are taken out etc. And I reimburse my account for the cost of the inspection etc.

Donna, maybe having a second vehicle to putter around in wouldn't be a bad idea. Then you don't have to drive the MH all the time. But don't give up hope of going places. We all have dreams and plans and sometimes they get changed, but we can find ways to make them work. Nikki the last two houses we had sold out from under us, so this one being number three and my first one is moving along as well. I"ll take some pics of both places and post them on here. The 72 hours contingency expires tomorrow and so far no word from the first buyers. But being they got notified on Saturday and you can't do anything on a Sunday, it's going to take a couple of days to get things in order especially if they intend to counter the offer and need to work with a bank or credit union. Or perhaps they are going to just pass on it. Yes, I do think the other folks really want this house and if the first offer matches theirs, they might just up the ante a bit. Shall find out shortly.

Okay, gotta get moving here. Need to get cleaned up and dressed. Inspector will be over there at 8 a.m., so want to be there. It's just a quick run up the road here so can be there in about a minute if I drive over. Y'all have a great day out there. Will keep ya posted. Thanks for all the well wishes.

Sue, thanks for the back story. I'll look forward to seeing the pics of the houses. Hope today's inspection goes well.

Going to eye doctor today. I lost my prescription sunglasses, which is a drag because my eyes are so sensitive to light now days. As long as I have to replace them, might as well get new clear glasses as well. It's been a couple years and I ruined the coatings on the clear lenses I wear all the time with cheap glass cleaning tissues. That'll teach me.

I think Matty's hair is filling in, so maybe allergy season is over for him. Winter allergies are worse than summer allergies for many Texas' creatures two and four legged.

Tomorrow I get the window in the Fit repaired, a rock attacked me. Bad rock! Bad! Bad!

Caulking just about finished on Betsy. There's a small section I can't reach.

Ready, set, go!

My valve extenders came in yesterday so I will go after lunch to see about that again. Hank needs to go to the vet for his teeth cleaning tomorrow. I don't want to bring him too early so will probably be two trips to town. I brought Annie the day before for her cleaning. I thought they were going to do it in the morning but didn't do it until in the afternoon. They had to give her fluids before I could pick her up. I bet she went 24 hours without water. There are some things that go on over there that I don't like. I don't like the other vet places in town much either. I might try the one my son brings his dog to that is on the way to Lafayette.

It is very windy again today. I would like to fill the hummingbird feeder but I'm afraid that most of it would just pour out because it is swinging so much. The birds are getting a wild ride.

Sue, hope the inspection is good. I don't think about it still being cold enough to have to bring plants in at night. I need to take the Ficus tree out of the old house and put it on the carport. It's so top heavy that it has to be tied to a pole to keep it upright in the wind. I don't want to put it in a bigger pot because I wouldn't be able to move it. I will have to do a search to see if it can be cut back some. I bought a pot the other day to put a plant that is in a hanging basket in. I'm not much of a gardener. I'm going to try putting one of the roses I got for mother's day in a potato like they keep posting on Facebook. I have started roses from cuttings before. I think there is a bottle of root starter around here somewhere. The big question is, can I find it.

I just noticed that there is a place on the top right where you can send an e-mail. Has that alway been there or is it something new?

I was ambitious yesterday--cleaned out my two utility bins, the one where the hookups are and the one next to it where I keep hoses and extra electrical stuff and cleaning stuff. Also, defrosted my freezer inside, which was long overdue. Got a lot of work done, also.

Today I head for town to pick up a prescription, get a big load of groceries to last me a week at Grand Canyon, go to the big vehicle wash so I can get some of the dirt off this, and finally stop at the dam visitor center. Also, want to do one last load of laundry and also some rugs before I leave here tomorrow, but will do that when I return to this campground later.

My laptop has left Nashville by truck for parts unknown. It looks like they have shipped it to Ohio by ground instead of to Arizona where I am by air, as they had promised!! Dell promised me they would find it and forward it to wherever I was, but this whole thing makes me furious. In the meantime, I am using a really awkward backup laptop that I hate.

AHA! I was right! I just made two phone calls to Dell who confirmed my laptop was being sent to Ohio because there was a misprint on the label. They have rerouted it to Page, AZ, and it will be here tomorrow. However, I was planning on leaving here tomorrow. So do I stay an extra day?? Change my plans? I Really want this computer, so I may call the Grand Canyon campground. Grrrrrr. :x

So, off I go!!

Good morning
What a shame Judy, think I'd stay and wait, but only you know how your schedule will work.
Love Donnas story of Phoebe and Charlie, really makes me smile.
Did I mention moving to Superior us now official, as I've been awarded my own
house key, :D Seems trivial but to me its a big deal!!
Y'all have a great day, only 12 more school days and the summer fun begins.

Me, too, Velda. I haven't posted about her new offer, etc, but was kind of waiting for everything to fall in place. Exciting times.
