Don't know if any of you in your travels have ever been into northern Alberta or even Ft. McMurray. I was back in 2000 on the way home from AK. It is or was a beautiful are up there. Here are some of the latest video clips of the destruction from the wildfire that moved through the city.

The damage is just heartbreaking. I watched a video one couple posted of the security camera feed inside their house (nanny cam), they saw their house burn down in living color.

It's hard to believe that a fire is so big that 80,000 people have to be evacuated. They are showing pictures of air lines that are evacuating people and their pets. One thing that Hurricane Katrina showed us was that people died because they wouldn't leave their pets. If they had wanted me to leave my dog on the side of a road and get on a bus I would have started walking.

I feel so bad for all those people who lost everything! I also feel terrible about the pets and also the wildlife that were lost, especially all the new baby animals. So heartbreaking for all!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I feel for the entire town. Sadly our area lost over 3000 homes last year and had over 100,000 evacuated, so we "get it" here in northern california. Very grateful there has been no loss of life. Son in MN says they have had smoke from the Canada fire as well as fires in northern MN.
