Finally Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Finally Saturday

Postby Colliemom » Sat May 07, 2016 6:50 am

Howdy y'all,

Well, after spending yesterday thinking it was Saturday all day, it finally is. Don't know why i was thinking that way, but I know we all do it. Sometimes a day just feels like the next day already. It was a beautiful one and maybe cause a couple neighbors were out working in their yards, just felt like a weekend, even though the neighbors are retired,

And since it's now Saturday, I plan to clean house this morning and maybe pack up a few more things. Am still waiting to hear when inspection day will be here. They are supposed to do it within 10 days after accepting an offer on their house and they have done that. Agent is going to check and see what's up. I in the meantime will have one done next Tuesday on my prospective purchase.

Opened my TT yesterday and let the nice warm air in there. Also put the battery back in and some stuff I had stored in the basement for winter. Just put it under the seats for now. Will clean and organize it after it comes back from being dewinterized next week. Not rolling out anyplace right now anyway unless something comes up between then and Memorial Day. But gonna be a bit busy and really no time, plus wouldn't be relaxing as my mind would be on what I need to get done yet. Nope, probably wait till after move.

Nice to see all the posts yesterday. Carolb, you sound like you are chomping at the bit to get flowers and garden and whatnot started. I have just a couple of pots planted with flowers and a larger tub holding some that i want to take with me and start at new place. Already plotting out the landscaping over there. Most won't happen till next spring though. By time move takes place and I get myself somewhat settled in, will be time to head off on my August trip to U.P. and hopefully WI. Shrubs can be yanked out in fall and things ready for next spring. Work inside that house can be done in winter. That is if all goes well and I get the house. If not, will be maybe turning into a full timer

Well, time to get busy here. Want to get this place cleaned up as I'm still in show mode per say, but not quite to the extent I was before. So need to get things up to speed here. Cleaned the gutters yesterday. Surprising how much gunk gets in them over the course of winter or summer. Flushed out a few pounds of sandy stuff, mix of dirt and stuff from the shingles. Did that last fall too. So now they are running good, not that they weren't but better. So you all have a great weekend out there.

Mornin' Sue and all that follow ~~~

Usual chores and errands on the agenda for me today. Canceled the camping weekend with Mom because of weather forecasts for storms. Weatherman (people?) have eased up on the forecast some, but some rain & storms are still expected. Sunshine on the east side of the house, dark clouds on the west, and hearing thunder now so glad I canceled. It's one thing to already be camping and have some rain and quite another to be setting up or tearing down, during the rain (learned that in Indiana last year lol).

Supposed to rain only in the A.M. and I'd like to do some weeding in the back yard as well as put down some dirt and seed where the tree fell last year. I'd like to get over by Colt too to bring a couple things there, and reorganize a bit (what can be done with the slide in) in preparation for vaycay in 2 weeks (yahooooo!!!)

Hoping everyone is doing well. Stay safe on the roads ladies. Have a good day.

Good morning all. Sue, sounds like things are moving along with the houses. Hope the inspections all come out good. I thought about you yesterday afternoon as I was wandering around the Lancaster Lebanon area. Son sold his vehicle to a dealer in Lebanon and needed a ride back home so of course I said no problem. Guess I should have guessed this wouldn't be easy when my GPS said it couldn't find it. My phone routed me so I figured I was okay. Wrong, came off the turnpike from the Harrisburg area and sign said left to Lebanon and GPS said turn right. One of those times you wonder if you should trust yourself or the GPS. Anyway, I followed the GPS and before I knew it I was on backroads and saw some campgrounds and parks. Definitely not car dealer area! Finally got to a Sheetz and guy from dealer talked me into the dealership! Apparently this isn't unusual because the road name has been changed several times and the maps can't keep up. The dealership actually rented an area in a field and put a sign with directions to them when people were directed to the field! BTW, son had some trouble too! But it was a neat area and wonder if I can get back to it someday when I'm not on a mission! So, Sue, if you get to make your trip to Gettysburg I may have some more places for you to explore! Gotta pull out a real map to see if I can get an idea of where I was!

Fought rain off and on all day yesterday and looks like more today. Amazing though, how green and beautiful it is. It's always a couple of weeks ahead of us down in the Harrisburg area. I think they are saying we may actually have some sun tomorrow! Maybe I can get out in the yard for awhile! This spring cleanup is going slow this year! :D

Anita, thanks for the post on Patty. I don't know her but my heart goes out to all of you that do and to her family. Never easy.

Well, coffee is done so I need to get busy. I decided to make a new privacy curtain for Lola. Carolb got my creative juices flowing! Realized I have the material here so might as well pull out the sewing machine and do it! Or try to! Hope you all have a good week end and travel safe if you are on the road.

Good morning, all. Sue, you might just be the most industrious, competent person I know of. You really are an inspiration. Barbie, I'm so sorry that your dad is too sick to take care of himself. You're so good to hang in there with him as heart breaking and frustrating as it is. Where's Liz? Have we heard from her since Yosemite? Maybe I'm just behind in the reading. I'll check her blog today. I've been thinking about all of you who know Patty. Losing friends, even acquaintances, can be so hard. I don't much like being old enough to start losing loved ones regularly. In yesterday's post, Maria Popova of Brain Pickings fame describes a children's book about death. Brain Pickings is one of my favorite blogs, a daily read, and the article was a lovely gentle reminder of inevitability. Wow, I'm in a mood this morning! Enough.

Green thumb wishes to all you gardeners. Want to come pull weeds at my house?

Ladies, start your engines.

Good Morning! It's another beautiful Eastern Washington day. This park has been so quiet, but the young families have shown up for the weekend - not that that is bad, just not as peaceful. :) I think several rigs are together and they backed up to the playground - good thinking!

I have had Patty K on my mind since the post yesterday. I know it isn't easy to stop smoking, but ..... Yesterday was the 38th anniversary of my mother's passing so she was on my mind as well. Seems bad news just keeps coming - another SS driver killed thanks to an impatient driver; 92 year old uncle in Kansas having issues and in rehab after a seizure ; 82 yo RV friend under hospice care. Reminders to make each day a good day!

Regarding shirts - I have learned if I find something, I better buy it! I don't do sleeveless thanks to a comment an aunt made many years ago. Some of my shirts have sleeves that are too short for my flabby arms. Guess it's like not wearing makeup much anymore - too old to care.

Today is the start to Kansas. Not going too far today and will stop for groceries along the way. Looks like a pretty full schedule until June 17!

Make it a great day and safe travels.

I was dressed early for me this morning. Harold had a friend working on something at the barn and I didn't want to run into them in my nightgown if they came in the house. It is nice and cool this morning. I should get the weed eater out and work on my flower bed. Need to find my oldest tennis shoes because what ever I wear will be green.

I need to work on my front curtain in my motorhome. I still have some of the little plastic tabs but don't know if I have enough. They don't last very long before they break. The curtain is 14 year old so could use a new one. I'm not going to make one and not sure I want to pay what they want for one.

I had issues with my TomTom GPS on my trip to Texas. At some turns I would hear left and my sister would hear right. I don't know if it was my ears, brain or the GPS. Coming home it was determined we were going to take I-10 and I was more determined we weren't. I couldn't put my sister's address because it wanted to take us back to I-10 and then up to her house which was way out of the way. It would't give up and recalculate so I would just turn it off. I know the roads of East Texas pretty well. I liked my old Garmin a lot better but I can't say too much because the TomTom was a Mother's Day present last year or the year before.

Yesterday the only phone at Walmart that we could use was some off brand $10 thing. They had about 20 models of the cordless phones. We can't use them because Harold would never get it hung up and the cats would knock it off the base. I should have looked online for a name brand phone.

Today is the Kentucky Derby. Yesterday MSN had a list of all the winners so you could see who won the year you were born. I remember some of the winners from when I was 12 and older. I always wanted to watch the race and would be mad if we had to go to grandmother's house that weekend. Calvin Borel is from some little wide place in the road East of here. They have a sign up saying it's his home town. A cajun jockey on national tv is a hoot. He was on the news recently announcing his retirement. I don't know if they still have dirt tracks in Louisiana. They use to put kids on these half broke horses and let them race.

Yesterday got to 92* here! And no humidity! :o It is cooler today and very, very windy! It was hazy this morning from the smoke from wildfires in northern MN and Canada.

Being lazy today. Just kind of feeling down in the dumps today. :( Maybe from my dad's deal yesterday. (Turns out that since he couldn't get the loan he wanted, he opened up a new checking account that my brother and I don't have access to so he can do what he wants with the money in there now.) That is really stressing me out a lot lately. No word yet from either of my brothers about getting together to make a plan.

Am still discovering new things about my Jeep. I tried turning on the A/C (turning dial to blue area for cold air) a couple times since I got it but only got warm air blowing, so I figured I need to get some Freon put in. I tried it again yesterday and got warm air but then noticed some buttons on the dash I hadn't noticed before. One looked like a defrost button but the other one I didn't recognize so I pushed it. Cold air!!! Yay! I have never had a car that I had to push a button to get AC. Learning something new every day! I love my new car!

Just took a walk down to the dock. There was a huge piece of driftwood (about 5 feet long) that had floated up to the beach a few days ago so I had pulled it up on the beach. Well, some guy was down there today with his grandkids and one of the kids had pushed the driftwood out into the water. I tried to reach it from the dock but the wind pushed it the other direction and out into the lake. So now some unsuspecting boater is going to hit it and do lots of damage to their boat. That made me so mad that the guy let those kids do that. My kayak is still in the storage area otherwise I would have paddled out to get it.

Am trying to rearrange my work schedule to make time for a visit from Linda (bikerchic) next week. Hope I can find someone to take one of my days that week. Will be good to see her again. Haven't seen each other since Easter about 4 years ago.

Hope you are all having a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
