Rain Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rain Wednesday

Postby carolb » Wed May 04, 2016 6:22 am

Gmorning all :)

I'm home! Had such a great time on my winter trip, & again, most of my enjoyment was being with my forum family:) OSharon, glad you were able to implement some of my "ideas," & also so happy to hear they made you start thinking "creatively"!! So different than the S&B home, so it takes a new perspective on organization our little homes, right?

Rain! I've been in rain since I left Kathleen's a week ago! Yesterday was a "dry" day, so bro came over & we mowed--could have used a hay baler then wouldn't have had to rake so much  And now, the rest of the week it's to rain! Guess that's good so I can focus on cleaning out HarBor & getting settled into my "big" house. I always feel disoriented when I get back.

Pat, will keep you in my prayers. Sounds like mom is "feeling" her age. Donna, so glad the eye is coming along. Mickie, nice to be counting the days til retirement, huh? :) Sue, I don't think anything stops you--selling your house yet still making improvements while you wait for a buyer ;)

Ok, y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Good Morning Ladies,

Carolb, thanks for starting the coffee this morning. I've been a bit busy so late getting on here. Glad you arrived home and are now getting back into S&B mode. Yep, rain heading your way as it's a rainy day here.

Well, I have some news for you all this morning. As many of you know, I have had a contingency offer on my house for the past month, contingent on the people selling their house. Well, they have sold their house, so now my house is next in line. The closing for them will be on June 15th. In the meantime, there will be an inspection of this house and if all goes well, we will close within 5 days after the closing on the 15th. I in the meantime will be having an inspection done on the lake house soon as i get a list of the inspectors from my agent and if all looks good there, will close on that place within 5 days of closing on this house. Will have 30 days to vacate this house. So it's going to be busy. Agent suggested I stay in show mode for a little while yet, till after the inspection and make sure all goes well, then I can start packing stuff and not worry about people wanting to see the house. So keeping fingers crossed that all goes well. I'm going to have my work cut out for me as the other house has to be emptied of all the stuff, furniture, kitchen stuff, clothes and whatnot the owner has left behind. Figure it's her loss and my gain in a way as I can have a garage sale and make some money off a lot of that stuff. Doens't need to be done right away. I plan to call in Habitat for Humanity or Salvation Army if need be to remove some of it. Also hoping to have carpets shampooed and maybe get a painter in to remove popcorn ceilings in bedrooms before I move my furniture in. If not will deal with it later. Hmmm, maybe I need a working GTG here  Hardest part is going to be having to wait till I can start finishing up with my packing. But you know I am not one to be idle, so will keep my busy.

So am heading to town this morning. Since it's a crummy day, want to return a big planter I bought yesterday for curb appeal and pick up some more boxes, tape etc. Also need a few things from store. So am going to head out in the rain and get moving here. Hope you all have a nice day, keep dry in the rainy areas, enjoy the sun where you have it and the travels if on the road.

Mornin' ladies and all that follow ~~~

Glad to hear you're home safe and sound Carol. You had a fun trip seeing as many forum sistahs as possible and keeping us informed.

Donna just pick a data and place. It will be your motivation to motor along.

Sorry about your mom Pat. Being the caregiver is hard to do, but you know you can always chat here and get things out if needed. We all do at one time or another. And keep looking for a new furkid, the perfect one will show up at the right time.

And Sue! Congrats on the contingency coming thru. Will be busy couple of months for you. Hoping everything goes smooth for you & you can still get some camping time in.

Have a good day ladies and stay safe on the roads.

Congratulations on the upcoming sale and move, Sue! Hope all goes smoothly with the inspections.

Carolb, glad you made it home safely. I'm sure you'll settle in to your summer routine quickly.

Donna, I understand your restlessness. I've been in one spot long enough to feel it too. I am ready to move on, and waiting for dentist appt. is not fun, even if it is only a few more days. I'm getting pretty lazy too.

Time to take Thistle out for a walk. Rain expected here by tonight and to stay around a few days, so I'll have an excuse for my laziness, lol.

Morning all. Sue, congrats on the contingency coming through. Step one done and now hope everything pans out for you getting into the other house. I already had a visit from my SIL this morning. She's getting things in line for her move to MA later this summer. She seems to be much calmer now that she has made the decision to move and quit work. Just moving on with her plans. Donna, are you thinking of getting rid of your RV? Not sure if I missed something here! Liz, hope you can get everything taken care of with the dentist and can hit the road again.

Not much going to happen here today, at least not outside! More rain for us too! I'd love to get the yard mowed since it's getting pretty long again but it's still pretty wet out there. I am going to get out and try to clean up after the dogs but that may be all. The sky is darkening as I speak! Hope everyone has a good day and travel safe if you are on the road.

Good morning :-)
So happy for Sue on the sale, and happy for Lyn on her purchase.
So today is an early release day, will be on the click straight through
and get home early. Would be nice if every day was early release.
Lost a Colorado friend suddenly and unexpected to everyone. She
had pains and went to the doctor, was diagnosed with stage 4 liver
cancer, they gave her 6 to 12 weeks, she didn't even make it a week.
Glad I got to see her at the reunion.
Done with breakfast and time to get back to work. Y'all have a great
day, be safe.

Not much going on today. Got some class work to do and just being lazy. The screen where I cracked it has been flickering on my regular computer, so I have been spending last two evenings updating things on my backup computer and upgrading to Windows 10. It is very slow so I still really need to buy a new replacement for this one with the cracked screen. Need to decide if I want to buy a new computer from Dell with Windows 10 or 7, which they are still selling on some computers.

Anyway, been getting out a little here at Zion, but still careful as my back is almost healed. Would love to ride my bike, but no way quite yet!! Saturday I head to Lake Powell and then Grand Canyon in the middle of next week. Hopefully, I will feel confident about riding my bike then.

Good Afternoon! If I hurry, I can have an afternoon cuppa before it's beyond my deadline time!

Carolb, glad to know your are safely home! Just wish we could have had a couple days at Dome Rock! :( Pat, sorry to hear about your mother - hard to see I know. My mother went through similar though from cancer attack rather than age. Sue, congrats on the house happenings! Ava, just had a quick death with an RV friend only lung cancer (don't know that she ever smoked). So sorry. Liz, hope the dental work goes well and you can move on!

I'm in Eastern Washington at a Thousand Trails. Trying to do some cleaning, etc. Wiped some of the Arizona dirt out of the truck this morning. I planned to leave here Friday and had my route set to Kansas via I-80. Then I looked at the weather along the way and changed to I-90! May add an extra day here. Grandson's senior happenings begin Tuesday with award night.

I dreaded going to Port Angeles last weekend, but it turned out to be a really great time. Sometimes family can be a bit unpredictable! My brother was the poor person who had to register the SS when the clerks had no idea how to register it. He definitely deserved to drive the SS! Also let grandson, daughter and son-in-law drive - enough of that!

Everyone hang in there with all the things life sends! Safe travels!
