Sunshine Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunshine Tuesday

Postby Colliemom » Tue May 03, 2016 7:40 am

A Cheery Good Morning all,

Bright sunshine here this morning, although they say we are to cloud up by afternoon, rain and colder for tomorrow and then back up to 60's-70's after that. I can deal with that. Maybe just maybe I can plant a few flowers and keep my fingers crossed. Frost is no big deal as can cover them. But a few pretty posies will make the curb appeal stand out on the house.

Pat, so sorry to hear about your mom. I lost mine to cancer 20 years ago and still miss both her and my dad to this day. CArol, wish i could have seen that program you watched on Sunday. I looked back on our local PBS station and didn't see anything about it. But I do know that PBS can have programs someplace one day and someplace another, so maybe it will air here eventually Liz, hope the new bridge works out for you and you can hit the road again. Really been enjoying your pictures. Sounds like everybody else is keeping busy with this and that.

Nothing special on my agenda for today. Going to get some landscape ties and build a little flowerbed in front where I removed a big shrub last fall, the get it ready to plant some flowers later this week. Lowe's has some really beautiful Dianthus of various varieties this spring and i want to get some along with some other kinds. They have really been taking care of their stock since it's been in, including moving it all inside the store the last cold snap we had. And the girls and I will enjoy a nice walk later on.

So going to get cleaned up dressed and mosey along. Hope everyone has a nice day today. If on the road, enjoy your travels. Prayers for those with health issues or family members with them.

Can't believe I'm up, really thought I'd be able to sleep in today but the fellas drilling into concrete outside thought differently. Oh well, coffee is tasty anyway!

Heading to the chiro again today, then off to work. Really loving that we've started counting UP to retirement, once our saving account gets up to where we want it, we. are. done! May still do a little part time work now and then, but the 40 hour a week career grind should be done.

Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Good morning to everyone. Looks like another rainy day today, grass is growing but to wet to mow! I need a goat!

Carolb left me here with all sorts of ideas for Lola! So yesterday I spent time out in her purging and rearranging! And even came up with some new ideas! Thanks, Carol! ;) Lola is a fine mess right now! But once I implement some of her ideas I think it flow better! Now if I just remember where I put things!

Appliance guy was here earlier and it was as I thought....saw the problem and now has to order the part and come back next week....if the part comes in. Luckily the problem doesn't affect the running of the frig. Need to get ready now to go to the dentist. Then, I hope, back to work on the RV!

Alice, once a mom, always a mom! Sue, I have a plant my kids gave me for my birthday and I keep covering it at night, just in case! They usually say not to plant outside plants around here until the end of May! Which reminds me, I need to go out and uncover it! Mickie, glad the chiropractor is helping you! Love my chiro!

So not much else exciting happening here. Coffee is hot and I do have eggs! Got some at the store the other day and SIL brought me a dozen fresh off the farm brown eggs yesterday! So plenty of that! Hope you all have a great day and travel safe if you are on the road.

I just woke up, but am still groggy! I did not get to sleep last night until almost 3:00 am because I was trying to update my "spare" laptop. My regular laptop is four years old, and about a month ago, it fell on the floor and the screen developed a "crack" in the display on the lower left side, however, it was working fine, so I ignored it. However, a day ago, it started flickering and letting me know it was on it way to dying completely. So I have to contemplate buying a new laptop because my spare, while it is has barely been used, cost me only $300 three years ago, meaning that it is very, very slow and has Windows 8. Software has expired, etc. so I had to download 98 updates, and then update to Windows 8.1 so I could update today to Windows 10--and it took 12 hours to do that!!! I was sitting in front of the screen at 2:30 am waiting for it to finish, half falling asleep.

Dell still sells some laptops with Windows 7, so I need to try out Windows 10 and then go into Best Buy to check out what models they have. A laptop is really important to me because I spend so much time on it each day, so needs to be faster and function like I need it to function, so need to see if 10 is OK. Hate, hate, hate, to go through deleting and getting rid of all the cloud and other junk they put on home laptops today, so that also is a consideration.

Still at Zion and going out today since weather is finally sunny and warm. Met an interesting lady yesterday who was 82 and is still motorhoming and considering selling her home and going full time. Gives me hope I have a few more years of this life!! Back is slowly better--only spasm every couple of hours if I move carefully instead of every 10 minutes, so it is healing.

Good morning
Already ready for a nap, didn't sleep well last night but my son made it to the Memphis airport, even though he has to hang out for two days, there will be no chance now of him missing his flight. Story is in campfire thread.
Did the weeds in the front this morning, they were getting quite tall and looking really
bad. Was going to do them tomorrow because its half day but its going to be hot! Glad
I've got that chore over with.
Nap time is calling my name, y'all have a great day, be safe

I went and had breakfast with the RVW lady that was coming through. She lives in AZ and has been on the road since March. She is on her way home from Florida. She wanted to drive Hwy 82 along the coast. I couldn't find any closed roads going that way so hope she doesn't have any problems. I hadn't been to town since we got the 7 inches of rain. All the ditches and fields are full of water. The river is very high. Some side roads I passed were under water. The farmers are pumping water off the rice fields. Rice needs to be in water but not covered. I'm sure that will affect the crops even if it doesn't kill the plants.

There have been shows about the National Parks on PBS some nights for the past couple of weeks here. I have seen some of them but watched them again. We are so lucky that there were people that were willing to spend their life fighting to get the National Parks established. I watch PBS about as much as I watch the shows on Directv. I would be happy to get rid of Directv but Harold has to have his shows.

I have to go take the dog for his shot. If he wasn't such a digger I would go in the motorhome to get the tire checked. I think I know where it's leaking. Hank can find all kinds of things to get into if he isn't in a kennel and the kennel is too big to fit through the door.
