Check in Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Check in Sunday

Postby Colliemom » Sun May 01, 2016 5:51 am

Mornings ng everyone,

First day of May. Time for everyone to pop in and say hi. So if you've been AWOL, reading but not posting, etc. chime in this morning and at least let us know you are still alive and kicking  doesn't matter if you've been doing anything exciting. Those of you who are newbies to this forum, don't be afraid to ask questions, after all it is an RVing group and we need our minds exercised about anything and everything.

Raining here this morning. Will just make things green up more. Cut grass yesterday and finished my yard work. Off to mass this morning. Not sure what to he rest of day will bring. But whatever it does and wherever you are, have a blessed day.

Morning all! Thanks for the coffee Sue, got any coffee cake, I could sure go for a piece.

Sitting here icing my knee, as I do every morning, but wow is it hurting this week. Sure hope the implant is okay. Guess if it's not, I'll deal with it, but I'd really like a break from this thing.

Not much doing today, groceries, maybe a trip to Walmart, possibly going to the beach later. Mostly just feels good to relax and drink my coffee.

Getting ready for work. Just remembered it's the first of a new month. Thought, have I spoken yet? Answer, no, so shouted out "rabbits". I don't think I'll ever forgive Soos for that superstition lol.

It will be the third day of the store for the season. Going as well as can be considering the lousy weather, not functional walk in cooler and delay of being able to sell wine, beer or liquor. Weather will improve every day this week. Walk in cooler should be functional Wednesday, then another week or so for liquor sales.

Best get a move on here. Morning all, and have a great day.

Happy May Day! Sun is shining here! Warming up too. :D

Off to work soon. Got off work early yesterday but it was so cold, windy and cloudy out that I just went home and took a long nap. Tomorrow I drive up to Buffalo (a small town about 20 miles west of me) to get my tow package installed and stop at Walmart there (closest WM to me  ).

When I was researching this Jeep on Carcomplaints.com, the only issue that came up was that the windows sometimes fell down into the doors. I figured I can deal with that easier than mechanical problems. Well, I already have an issue with the drivers side window not wanting to go up straight. There is a plastic part inside the door that is weak and fails, so I found a site on-line that sells a replacement for that part that is metal instead, so will order that for it. Doesn't sound to hard to fix it. The two windows in the back I will never use so will maybe just tape them to hold them (I guess that part fails even on windows that are not used). If that is the only issue with this Jeep, I will consider myself having gotten a great deal! I highly recommend carcomplaints.com before buying any car. It was right on about the bad engine in my 1999 Ford Escort so I knew that was going to fail at around 150K miles. The day I left California, it hit 150K miles so I was driving back to MN on a wing and a prayer. The engine blew at 154K miles, two months after I got back to MN.

Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning Everyone !!! Sun is out beautiful, a wee surprised as it rained off and on all night, started yesterday evening, just when I decided I'd go out and get a few things from RV that I wanted. Opened the door and was raining to hard, still don't have those things :) We're supposed to expect rain off and on through Wednesday, so thinking I shouldn't wait to long before making that trip outside.

Beth, I'm sorry you have some frustrations starting your time out there this year. Hoping things get there and start running more smoothly. Hope the ladies that are in the real stormy area will all check in today. The storms we have everywhere anymore are really scary.

No news here, nothing really fixed, I have gotten a lot done that I can do, have a list each day, which I do and if still ambitious and have energy left add more to the day :D The repairs would be nice to be done though, mower is not going yet, but rain has the grass growing and weeds doing a fine job out there  :D Checked skylight when rain was the hardest, saw nothing inside, but wondering about the roof area. Oh well, they'll get done sometime :)

Hope you all have a good Sunday, and the sun shines for you and gives you a happy feeling after all the bad weather,
Stay safe, and enjoy your day,
CArol

Good morning Everybody. All is well in CT. Had a reality check the other day and realized that I cannot maintain all my gardens. The body complains too much, so.... Two of the big beds are going. Not sure if I will replace them with grass or make an outdoor sitting area. Getting rid of flower gardens is not easy or cheap. Maintaining them isn't either! Found a young woman who will weed and a had load of mulch delivered. Enjoy today. Peggy

I'm set up at Zion National Park for a week. Spot is very close to visitor center and they have an extensive shuttle system so I should only have to move to dump tanks in few days. Warmer here than last couple of weeks and sunny so happy with that. Got up early this morning to make reservations at St Lucie South in Florida (COE) for November and got prime spot along river. yea!!

Really lazy so going back to bed to read for a while until it warms up. Back is slowly getting better but it has been whole two weeks as of today since I hurt it.

So when are all if you getting on the road???

Good morning, happy May. I'm still tired and want to go back to sleep but too much to do. Allergies bad again so don't know how much I'll actually get done. Found a handy man to do the last of the work on the house. What a relief it will be if it works out. Rabbits! Safe travels, everyone.

It is really raining today and not just down here. We got 3 1/2 inches yesterday and I heard it raining again last night. There is flooding up along I-10. I heard something about people being rescued on I-10 and I-49. The satellite keeps going out. Today is a good day to stay home.

Barbie, good luck with your window fix. My son is driving my old ford van. The system that makes the drivers side window go up broke and he ordered the parts to fix it. It is almost impossible to put your hands into the door to fix it. He worked on it for a week and finally got it fixed. I would have taken a sledge hammer to it.

CArol, I think I need to make a to-do list everyday and maybe I could get something done. I did get some of the grass and weeds out of my rose bed yesterday afternoon. Since the ground is so wet the weeds were easy to pull. I know someone that got bit by a copperhead snake so I am afraid to put my hands where I can't see. I need to get the weed-eater out but have to run 100 feet of extension cord to use it. That will have to wait until it drys up. Peggy, I hear you on the garden maintenance. It's all I can to do to keep my small rose bed clean. I think I would like to have a small raised bed for tomatoes but Harold thinks everything is in his way when he mows.

Judy, I would really like to be on the road but I won't get far. I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to the RVW campout in Gulf Shores, Al in two weeks. The Crawfish Festival is next weekend in Breaux Bridge. A friend offered to let us camp in her yard for the weekend but after all this rain I doubt she will want people driving in her yard. It is a traffic jam to even get off the interstate so I haven't been in 30 years.

Good morning/afternoon everyone!

All is well here in CA.

Barb, I had the same problem with the windows in the sprinter van. My son & I fixed it. As long as you can take off the inside of the door to get to the mechanism its not too tough - but you might need an additional set of hands. There were a couple of helpful youtubes to help us figure it out. Dealer would have replaced the entire thing for over $300 - we did it for less than $20. Of course it helped that son had all the tools we needed. :) To keep the back ones up you can always put a suction-type thing at the bottom of the window which will help keep it propped up - I had to do that for a little while until we fixed the passenger side.
By the way, how's your shoulder holding out?

Peggy, pulling out gardens? sounds like work to me - as does making it an outdoor seating area. Grass, I can deal with.
JudyB, you amaze me at how you grab those great spots as soon as the reservation period opens up - hope I get to be as good as you are at it someday. Hope your back continues to improve.
Beth, soon things will all be up & running before the season kicks into full swing- and the weather surely will improve. After all, you said 'Rabbits' right?!
While I always love rain, sounds like if we could spread it out a little more everyone would be happy. I know we'd love to have some out here.

Hope everyone stays safe & has fun today,
Take care,
Catherine

Catherine, I plan to buy some suction cups to hold the back windows up for now. Never use those windows anyways.
And my shoulder is doing a lot better now. No pain anymore, but occasionally I get a popping sound in that joint (the other shoulder does that too! :? ).

Barb, Glad to hear the shoulder is better - hope the popping sounding isn't anything.
