Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Hot muggy Sat....

Postby grammynmaggie » Sat Apr 30, 2016 5:09 am

Good morning everyone...Pheebe woke me up early 3:30 a.m. to go outside and I did not get back to sleep.... I got my cataract on my right eye removed on Wednesday and it's doing good I had a corneal abrasion and that's what has been painful but it's slowly getting better... I am amazed at the difference my left eye looks like I'm looking through dirty tea stained glass window my right eye now looks like I'm looking through a Shiny Bright clean window everything looks white and bright beautiful I don't remember ever being able to see this good.... now it's not clear & it's still a little foggy and I still have my astigmatism but it is so bright and color stand out great anyway I'm pleased so far ...I was supposed to go over to Wickham Park Brevard County geocache people are having a get-together event but I think it's going to be too hot and sunny for me to my eyes don't do good in the sun right now so I guess I won't go my plan was to take the rig and spend the weekend at the campground and go to the event but that's not going to happen... we are having summer weather in the nineties.... waiting for the sun to rise so I can go down to the Home Park take my picture for the day ...usually post it on Facebook for my people in the north and anybody else that wants to look at a pretty sunrise in Florida... Well for now everybody be safe and have a good day...donna

Good morning, Donna! So glad your cataract surgery went well, makes me look forward to mine.

I hear you about hot and muggy, I left the AC off last night and woke up in a puddle of sweat at 4:00am. Just stayed up since I have to go to work this morning.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day today.

Gmorning Donna & all to follow:)...& Mickie, you snuck in before me:)

Donna, so happy the cataract surgery did it's thing! Now you will realize I really wasn't as tan as I looked to you

I'm having my morning coffee in OSharon's camp driveway:) Arrived yesterday afternoon, & she had Thanksgiving dinner ready for us--yep, turkey, stuffing, gravy, taters, the whole shebang! Lucky me that she decided to clean out her freezer:) Hoping it doesn't continue to rain today so I can help her with yardwork ;) Have been in the middle of spring rain since I left Kathleen's. Good for the gardens though:) The dogwoods were in full bloom all along my route--a lot of deep pink ones, my favorites! Dog woods don't grow in NY.

Martha, can't believe people aren't excited about Tabasco ice cream ;) I loved it!

Last of April, looking forward to May flowers--I'm getting excited to be home to start my garden. MO SIL sent me home with some interesting plants that should do well in NY climate:)

OK, y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Sitting in the rig at the fairground here in Eaton. The pups made me decline the available weekend overtime so that I could take them to another dog show. Expecting rain off and on both days but the grooming and showing is all inside. It is the pottying that they would prefer to take care of outside that will be the most fun. Hope everyone gets a chance to discover their wonderful day

Good Morning here too,

Wow, a lot of early birds up this morning already. I was over on FB chatting and thought I had better get over here and get the coffee going, but Donna did if for me today and a lot of you are already enjoying it.

Donna, been there done that with cataract surgeries too. Make sure you get a pair of dark sunglasses as your eyes are going to be sensitive to that sun. I use Solar Shields and I love them. Can get them at WalMart. Carolb, I too love seeing those dogwoods. Haven't seen spring blooming down that way in a long time. Glad you made it to O'Sharon's. Heck, had I known she was going to make Thanksgiving dinner, I would have run right over, hahaha. Sounds like you are ready to head home to your garden. Nikki, you gave me a good laugh yesterday when you said that "maybe I have a life". Well, lately it's been cleaning house, cleaning house, cleaning house, mowing grass, cleaning house...... And Tina back on the show circuit. Good luck today.

Off to town here for me this morning. Buying a few bags of mulch for arund a few trees out front before the sale ends tomorrow. Talk about waiting for the last minute. Well, weather hasn't been good either. Sunshine today. Mowed about half the yard yesterday and plan to finish today as rain returning tomorrow. Want to dig up some of my wild geranium and pot some to move when and if the time ever comes. Been quiet on the home showing front this week. Maybe next week, will go someplace for a day just to take a break from this place. We shall see.

So time to move along here, get dressed and head north to town. Y'all have a great day out there. If in the areas with storms, keep an ear our for warnings, if on the road, enjoy your travels.

My story is pretty much what Sue said. Packing, cleaning, sorting the junk from the keepers. Ridiculous how much crap 2 people can accumulate in 20 years here. Our move date is May 11, with movers loading up on 5/10 to close on May 11. Getting down to a 2-bedroom condo from a 4-bedroom house is challenging, but we're nearly there. I'm off to a sewing conference Thursday thru Saturday next week so DH will be sitting in boxes and squalor while I'm gone  . But that means I have to be pretty much done before I go, as I'll only have Sunday and Monday to finish up before the truck arrives. We're happy to be going to a low maintenance environment where we can pack up and go when we please. And we'll clear just enough from the sale of this place to buy the condo and the motorhome outright, something that means a lot to us. All those years of saving are finally coming "home to roost."
Enjoy your day, and hope to see you on the road soon.

Just relaxing for now, maybe a little weed work for later.

Time for a breakfast snack and get dressed. Y'all have a great day, be safe.

I love Dogwoods too but I didn't see any on my way to pick up my sister and take her home. She was commenting on not seeing any either. I don't know if the companies that plant pine trees have killed them or not. In the woods in East Texas you use to be able to see Dogwoods and Red Bud trees. I tried to plant a Red Bud but it didn't make it. We were almost too late to see the Blue Bonnets in Texas. There were a few small patches in several places.

We are under a severe thunderstorm watch and the yellow box is just to the West of us. Harold is calling his friends to the North of here to see if it's raining there. They don't have anything else to do so they talk about the weather. Some of the poor people in East Texas have had flooding rain again. I'm glad I got my business tended to yesterday so I don't have to go to town today. I just heard some thunder.

I need to move the tax boxes out of my office but don't want to put them in the old house. I am always digging in them looking for something but I'm getting tired of walking around them. I don't know why I need a 14" by 18" file box but I fill one up every year.

Donna, I enjoy your sunrise pictures. The sun comes up over the woods here so the view isn't as pretty.

The lights just blinked so better get off the computer.

Hi, Rain here!!! Not much ,but, every drop counts! That is a shame about flooding in east TX. Pictures look horrible.
Carolb, you sound so happy to be arriving home. I too love the dogwoods. One spring I was in Knoxville, TN. They have maps of neighborhoods to drive to see many, many dogwoods.
We have some RedBud trees in PetCo Park. I did not realize they would grow here. However, they are doing quite well.
Our outdoor organ in Balboa Park is now the largest outdoor organ in the world! We now have 5,005 pipes! Free concert every Sunday!
I seem to have hit a plateau with my knee. Graduated to the cane. But still having pain when walking. I haven't driven yet.
I loved the Tabasco Tour. I guess some just don't have enough curiosity.
Have a good day all, Lyn

Good Morning! Love seeing all the posts!

Donna, so glad your eye is doing well! Carolb, continued happy visits and safe travels. Martha, so many of you just keep having storms! I dread arriving in Kansas in 10 days. Eileen, downsizing is hard! Lyn, I guess patience is the name of the game with your knee. I have been seeing dogwoods here along with rhodies in bloom. In that respect, it is a great time to be here.

Brother and sister-in-law came to the casino for dinner and slots last evening. I would have had more of a win if I hadn't waited for them to finish! :( Beautiful day so I'll park and my brother's, unload the SS and go to my sister's.

Make the most of your day!!

Good Morning Everyone !!! sure thinking of all of you out in the stormy area. Wow, its really outdoing itself for terrible weather. Was predicted to come this way, wore out some, hopefully. Hasn't made it yet, in my area at least and I am just as happy it hasn't and hoping it doesn't. I don't mind rain even hard rain, but lightening, hail etc. and tornados, I can do without all that, can't we all ?? Oh in saying all that I forgot, I really don't need hard rain right now, I have a leaky skylight that isn't replaced yet, in my bathroom over tub, so except for possible ceiling problems, no damage done under it.

I've really been lazy in getting this day going. I keep looking out of the window, hoping guy will come and get mower going for me or better yet bring the guy he thought could and would help me clean up some of the tree rubble left from fallen trees last fall.

Wanted to let you all know that are in the main storm area, you are in my thoughts, please take care and stay safe, Wishing a safe and fun day for you all. Eileen, so glad all has worked out so well for you, and how you wanted it too. you are almost done !!! Alice, thinking you might have a better day then most if you are with that special someone. Martha, take care, you are right in a bad area, Sarah is too. Not sure if Carolyn is home or still gallivanting around.

Hoping all stay safe,
CArol

Lyn, you snuck in on me, thinking you are the only one pleased with having rain, I know how it is out there though, lived out in CA for a number of years and it always needs rain. Sorry, your knee is still giving you pain, in time I think that goes away, have friends who have had knee replacements and they're hiking and all now. the dogs are probably the reason the redbud tree is living :) I love them and have always wanted one. I have dogwood but some got taken out last fall with other mess I had removed. So not many this year, and I missed them. Ok, need to shut up here, someone else will be coming in before I to submit this again. :o :D
Hi Anita !! now another try

Mornin' ladies and all who follow ~~~

Cold rainy Saturday here in the Chitown area. More Spring temps are expected starting Monday. Waiting to see the long term for next weekend for the Mother's Day trip with Mom, but depending on which channel I saw last night, Saturday could be raining (NBC) or sunny & mild (ABC). So we'll see.

Eileen sounds like you are right on track for the final sale and move. That will be a big change, but the future RV and traveling sound closer on the horizon for you. I remember you mentioned you may join us at Giant City, but you may still be unpacking. Hope you can still make it for a day or two. You know you have a place to sleep if needed.

Glad to hear your cataract surgery went great Donna. Getting visit updates from Carolb is fun to read about too. And Tina getting away to a show. Have to have fun sometime Tina :D Sue sounds like your still in house sale mode. Still keeping fingers crossed here the folks on your contingency can come through for you. By the way, how are Molly's eyes doing with the drops? Zorro's eye seems better one day, then bad again the next. I'm guessing it's such an irritation like constantly having something in your eye. Poor old guy.

Well heard this morning that Dad is already north of Nashville on his way back home from Florida. Now the parent juggling begins again for the summer, but glad he's heading this way. I have a mini-job for the ole retired electrician to look at. Ever since I had a minor electrocution when I was a kid, I don't touch electricity. Yea I was a stupid kid. :?

On a final note, Punk sure gave me a laugh the other night. He always has one toy or another in his mouth and is constantly in play mode running back & forth to the bedroom. I happened to walk past the utility room and something caught my eye. Guess he decided he was thirsty and went for a drink of water and either didn't want to let go of his toy, or forgot he had it in his mouth. Needless to say, I found the stuffed piggy floating in the water bowl. What a goof.

Ah well, better do some chores & errands here today. Have a good day ladies and stay safe on the roads.
Cheryl

Donna, glad your cataract surgery went well. My eye Dr said he can greatly reduce and possibly eliminate my ( really severe) astigmatism by using a special lens and using enhancing relaxing incisions using his laser at same time or after the initial surgery. Did your Dr offer that? I'm holding back as long as I can on surgery because I'm so afraid of losing my rather excellent close up without glasses vision. I'd love to have distance vision without glasses but have seen how frustrated Mel is over losing his near vision and Drs can't seem to get it back with glasses RX. On the good side, my vision is lots better with my new glasses, which Costco fixed their mistake on finally ( I'm impatient, it took 6 days for them to fix, but got them yesterday). It's amazing what a difference between old beat up scratched glasses and brand new with better RX can do! I guess no more excuses for stuff I had put off cuz it was hard to see and read!
We had a few drops of rain last night. Even had some EF-0 yes that is zero scale tornadoes in region this week. Yeah CA are wimps and even report EF-0. !! Haha
Praying VA calls soon re a sleep study for Mel cuz I'm getting tired of noisy breathing followed by NO breathing! Not much planned here today. Found some ribs he did on smoker in my freezer so plan coleslaw and beans with ribs tonight. Anyone hungry?
Have a safe day all.

Yes my doctor did recommend that kind of lens for my astigmatism but Medicare does not pay for that and I would have had to pay an extra almost $3,000 out of pocket I could not afford it so I opted just for the basic lens and I will still have to continue to wear my glasses for the astigmatism I've worn glasses all my life since I've been 12 years old so I think I can finish out with the glasses it would have been nice though
