Rolling into Spring, Finally!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rolling into Spring, Finally!

Postby Colliemom » Thu Apr 14, 2016 6:17 am

Good Morning,

The week is rolling right along here, into Thursday already and spring is coming with it. They say our winter is over, not that a snow flake is still possible some day yet. But after April's record breaking 15 inches, time for it to melt and things to green up. Heading into a glorious weekend. We've had so much precipitation of one form or other these last couple of years, that I am seeing water in places I haven't seen it in years. Small ponds and bogs that have all but dried up are ful of water. The lake across the road here, has come up at least 5 feet since fall of 2014. It's good.

My house showing with the agents went well yesterday morning and my evening one was a half hour early. So that was nice too. They were supposed to see another house before this one, but it got an offer and got sold. Of course, they work and had to come from a half hour away, hence the late evening hour. Will get report from agent later today probably.

Now that weather is warming up, will get out side and get busy. Replaced a couple of vent covers on the house yesterday and am looking at a couple in the soffits, that are getting kind of raunchy. Want to get outside of windows washed too. So things to do and putter with. Think I might Uncover my trailer this weekend too. Outdoor show in town, be fun to go see. So it's work and play weekend coming up. Couple RV dealers going to be there too.

Barb, sorry about the house, but here is something better out there.

Well, wash is done, off to the dryer with it. Hope you all have a good day today :)

Mornin' Sue & all that follow ~~~

Yes, hopefully Spring here also Sue. You're so ambitious changing vents on the house! I'm not that handy and will get mine replaced since they are pretty dented from hail over the years, when I get a new roof. Think you're going to need a bigger trailer with 2 collies

We didn't get snow, other that what covered the grass the other day, but I am looking forward to the 70's this weekend. All that is left for me to do for ride to dealer is put in the battery in Colt. Might take a ride tonight with Punkin to get clothes in for the weekend and let him get a sniff around the big dog house on wheels.

Have a good day ladies and stay safe on the roads.

How is the level of the Great Lakes, Sue??

Spring is definitely here in Georgia with the dogwood in bloom. All went well and I am headed back to Phoenix tomorrow. Typing on cell so more later.

Good morning Everybody from sunny and getting warmer CT.
Martha, no I haven't cooked any of my LA beans. I gave some of the cream peas and crowder beans to my brother when I stopped at his house in NJ on my way home. I don't think he has cooked them either. He and I may plant a few in our gardens as well. Three years ago I brought home Anasazi beans from AZ and planted some. They grew well in my garden and I had plenty of dried beans to give away!
I need to get some smoked ham, so I can make New Orleans style red beans and rice. LA has some of the best foods! Stay savoring my canned figs!
Pat, I love the pictures of Bronc. He is quite the little man.
Enjoy today. Peggy

Gmorning all :)

So happy to hear the reports of Spring showing it's face finally:) Sue, I visited you in spring 2014. Can't believe your little lake has come up 5ft! Peg, good to see you here this a.m. Martha, IRS is going to have a field day with my tax return! Yours is 38 pages??? or did I read that wrong??

Barbie, dang, the house sounded so perfect for you, but obviously it's not for Lola. Speaking of Lola, OSharon, are you ready to get your Lola on the road? Or are you waiting for my visit ;)

BJ, yes, thinking of you as I've rearranged & re-rearranged my "schedule." Still working on project with SIL, so now in MO til Saturday, I think. Kathleen, I'll be calling you, but looks like I'll see you next weekend. Soooo, that gives me a couple days before my sis expects me on Monday, which means a possible gtg with you, BJ? Will know better what I'm doing at the end of today.

Hope y'all have a great day. Safe travels CArol & all others on the road 8-)

Good morning. Spring is coming to PA too, Sue! Sunny today and more to come with higher temps! I'll take it! I was cleaning up after the dogs yesterday and realized I could and should mow the backyard! I'm actually kinda excited about doing it! I'll need to wait until later today to do it since it's still pretty damp out there! One chore I don't mind doing.

Melissa, sorry to have missed your birthday! But sounds like you had a nice day and hope more for you all year long! And welcome to the new members too! I've been busy all week and actually can't believe it's already Thursday! I had a good trip to the outlets the other day, didn't get much. I picked up a couple of book bags for the grands but not much else! But we had a good lunch! It's mostly a good day away with a good friend! So the next few days will be at home and I'm going to attempt to get a start on cleaning up the winter mess outside! I need to pull out the little trailer and start filling it with all the yard debris. At some point I need to do some painting on the outside of the house too. The trim on the front door is really bad, it gets hit with all the bad weather and is a mess this year. So I have plenty to keep me busy! Barbie, sorry the house didn't work out but bet something else will be out there for you.

Well, coffee is done so need to get busy and quit talking about what needs done and just get to it! Hope everyone is doing well and hope you all have a good day. Travel safe! (CarolB, Lola needs cleaned up and loaded, still not ready to go anywhere yet! And yes, waiting for your visit! Looking forward to seeing you!)

Carolb, our federal return is 28 pages and the state is 10. Most of it has to do with the farm. I am so glad to be done with that for a year. I wish our water heater would come in so I wouldn't have to worry about that while I'm gone.

Peggy, years ago when I still gardened I planted some kind of peas that were so good. I am still trying to find some like them. I can't remember if they were cream peas or lady peas. The last time I went to Lowe's I was looking at plants but managed to resist buying any. We have tried to grow tomatoes in containers but they never do any good. I don't do enough for them and Harold does too much. He will mess with them until he kills them.

It's going to be a long day. I went to sleep early for me and woke up at 3:00. I was still awake at 6:00 when one of Harold's friends called. I think I might have dozed off for about an hour. I really need to get my motorhome ready to go. Still trying to decide when I will leave. Guess I will know that when I pull out of the driveway. I tried to update the computer I take and finally gave up on it searching for updates. If I don't update it at home I can't use it on the road because it will keep searching in the background and makes every thing so slow. I think it has Vista so it will probably be the next one they stop supporting.
