Wednesday already

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday already

Gmorning all :)

Wow, lots of good stuff going on:) Barbie, your "new" place sounds/looks great (money-wise especially!) & what wonderful memories of it from the past! Sue, any new offers on the house? Soos recovering well? & Lyn, I'll bet you're up & moving on your bionic knee ;)

I'm still in MO, & soon on my way to IL for a stop at Kathleen's! Got delayed with the yard project here due to rain the other day--was too muddy to work on Monday. But I did get to the library for tax forms. I started to file online, but don't have all my info re insurance. With paper forms, I can submit what I have at the moment, then let IRS notify me of what I need  Do this every year, & they probably think I'm a real idiot--they're right!

Not much else, so wishing y'all a great day & be safe always! 8-)

Good morning
Wow, middle of the week already, and just two more to go till the weekend. Had our monthly safety meeting yesterday, turned out to be a good meeting, met the new supervisor and lots of positive things going on for our dept. Too bad it didn't happen years ago but at least when I retire I won't feel so bad for my friends that have to stay.
Time to get dressed. Y'all have a great day. Be safe.

Good Morning, getting ready to start the trek north. Before packing this up thought I would pop in and wish you all a great day. Those on the road, stay safe, especially out west, weather is not good in some places. Going to rain here this afternoon, so I am hoping to get to my next stop before it starts. Have been calling fella to wash and wax my rig and can't get ahold of him. Sure needs to be done before summer sun really sets in.

Well, need to get moving, have most done, kind of waiting for hair to dry :) Not anxious to get to NC, will miss my Maggie sniffing out critters if some have invaded us. Thinking of cleaning everything out of my bedroom, and finding out for sure before sleeping in there    I've been having nightmares

Enjoy your day, please stay safe,
CArol

Quick good morning here before I head out the door. Real Estate agents from the office are coming to tour my house in about an hour, so been busy spiffing up. Also have a showing at 8 tonight. Bit later, but hat's okay. So heading to town to run some errands, grab some lunch etc. No Carolb, no new offers as yet, but showings keep coming. Figure people will be out long with weather getting nicer now.

Alice, new supervisor sounds nice and maybe a breath of fresh air for all of you. Safe travels Carol. Gotta go. Have a nice day :)

I have to find my suitcases today. I'm flying to Tampa on Saturday to fetch a car back to Michigan for my nephew. I've decided to come north on the Blue Ridge -- it won't be camping, but it will be a great drive! Does anybody know when the azaleas are in bloom this year?

Good Morning! Full pot of coffee and some flavored creamers...help yourselves.
Haven't checked in for awhile. Seems like I'm always busy but I can't say that I have accomplished much! I think Spring might have finally decided to stay! But it's been so darn windy that I have avoided doing much outside because we need rain and it's so dusty that I'm afraid that my allergies with flare up. A definite sign of Spring is reading that many of you are heading North. Glad to hear that Soos is doing good. Yes, I read everyday just don't post...I'm a lurker. A sign of Spring around here is branding the new crop of calves born in late winter...picture attached is Bronc experiencing his first session on Sunday. Yesterday I bartended at our friends bar from 1-7. I sat there by myself reading and watching TV until about 3:30...then people started strangling in after work and I ran my butt off until I left. My legs are sore today. Tomorrow I will probably being going to Mitchell to help Missy get some planters ready for Administrative Assistants Day. She has quite a few employers who buy seasonal planters for their secretaries rather than cut flowers. I would prefer that myself...something that lasts all summer....if they remember to water them! When that's over we'll start on Mother's Day planters. They tend to be larger and more in the high price range plants. Then it will be Memorial Day planters...have to have all sizes and price ranges for those. She wants me to design some flowery gift-certificates/cards for Mother's Day too. That might be a project for today. Design and print off a few so she can decide which one she wants. So I'd better get my shower taken and get to work. I have a list of things that have to been done...that are above and beyond the normal chores and I plan to try to do at least a couple a week. Today is going to be purging one of the kitchen cabinets that has accumulated a lot of junk that I don't use.

Have a good day.

Talked to my Mother in Franklin NC yesterday and she said the azaleas are starting to bloom. Blue Ridge drive is beautiful!

Sounds like everyone is busy, either traveling, getting ready to travel or selling their house. Congrats to those who have sold or have offers. Sue, sounds like you have found a great place on the water-

Weather is supposed to be warm this week and next, spring finally :P
I am busy getting the trailer ready for trip starting this weekend with my friend Kathy. We will be heading down to SE MO for kayaking, hiking and sightseeing. Hope the storms stay away.

Safe travels to those on the road, have a great day everyone.

Pat, your retirement sounds like a lot of work. I'm in Keystone now and talk of rain and even possible snow this weekend, so hopefully the rain will come through and head west to you. I'll be I a sundress today, though.

Barbie, sorry about the house :( I have confidence that you'll find something. Hopefully even something better!

Time for me to start doing work. That's what I'm here for, right? But day before yesterday I did something that caused major pain in my leg. Researching leads me to believe it's my sciatic nerve acting up. It did once years ago. And I mean years abs years ago. It's been improving, so hopefully I'm on the mend.

Pictures definitely from the Blue Ridge. I love that drive, but have only done it in the fall.

Stay safe and have fun all.

What a good morning! A post from DPF and a picture of Brock, the cutest little cowboy. I love the way he is copying the way the other men are sitting.
Hope everyone has a good day, I think the weather is finally starting to get back to the idea a spring, it was distracted there for awhile.
The Azaleas are already in bloom in southern AL but farther north they may be just starting. Our lilacs are out and smell wonderful. Some of the older ones are starting to die out so need to see how to maybe cut them back some. They are taller than the house.
Have a good trip back CArol, hope you don't find any unwanted company in your house. Company reminds me of the video I saw this week on FB where the comedian was doing a skit about the difference of company at the door 20 years ago and now. Funny but sadly true. Carolb, glad you are stopping to see Kathleen, I'm sort of in the neighborhood you know. :)

Good morning! Sunny and warming up a bit but still pretty windy. The wind always kind of wrecks the nice sunny days and make them colder. Hope they die down this week when it gets in the 70's.

Well, my room rental fell thru last night. :( Just wasn't gonna work with their two very large, very unruly and undisciplined dogs. Gotta make sure Lola is safe and happy! I have a couple other leads so will see what happens with those.

Off to work here. Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Carolb, give the IRS all the trouble you can. I hate getting everything ready for the CPA. Our federal and state returns are 38 pages. I don't understand what half of the pages are and I use to work for them 30 years ago. Our CPA told me one time that the local IRS office is hard to find. They are almost hid in the back of a building with a security guard.

Barbie, sorry the house didn't work out. I would be afraid to leave a cat in that place too.

PeggyinCT, I thought of you this morning. I put some Camellia Cream Peas in the slow cooker this morning. Have you been cooking the beans you picked up?

Yesterday when I picked up Annie the vet wanted to know if we had chickens. He found a bug on her that looked like lice. After I left I thought of what it probably was. Harold gets something called Fly Predators to control the flies in the barn. They are tiny little wasps that he spreads at the barn. They eat the fly larva in manure. We get a shipment every month in the mail. We had just gotten a shipment and I bet some got out in the house.

We must have gotten a lot of rain last night, there is water standing in the pasture. It usually takes about 3 inches for that to happen. It looks like most of the rain has moved off to the East except for some in the Gulf. I hope the rain South of us is going East and not Northeast. The wind has finally died down. I need to go fill the Hummingbird feeder. I was only putting a cup at a time and they are going through that in a day and a half. I'll see how long 2 cups lasts.

Martha, I had not heard of Camellia Cream Peas so I looked at the web site. Looks good but I may have to order online as I've not seen hem in stores. How do you usually cook them?

Velda, I usually start beans or peas in the slow cooker about midnight on low. Today I started them on high about 9:00 am and they are just now soft enough to eat. We usually put some kind of smoked meat in and some cajun seasoning. I think I like their Blackeyed Peas the best cooked with smoked ham hocks. Harold puts ham pieces when he cooks beans. Peggy had been through Louisiana before and she likes the Red Beans.

I do pinto beans, red beans, navy beans, black beans, and the other day a package of heirloom canallini beans which were different but good. Hubby doesn't like black eyed peas so I'm cautious about any related which those creamers are it said. But I may give them a try if I can find them. Lately I am using my Instant Pot electric pressure cooker for beans and it's worked well. I use ham bone if I have one or ham hocks I buy smoked. Lots of onion. Garlic, bay leaf, thyme and other herbs depending on type of beans. Mel likes cornbread where I prefer over rice and we both like fresh raw onion mixed into the bowl.

I like cornbread with my beans too but Harold wants his cornbread with syrup. I don't remember his mother being a baker so that was probably their dessert when he was a kid. If I think about it sometimes I put the frozen mix of onions, celery and bell pepper. I'm too lazy to chop all that. There is a fruit stand near here that sells frozen beans and peas. They come in their bags but I don't know if they shell them or they buy them somewhere. Their stuff seems much fresher than the national brands.

I fell asleep after the news and now I'm up at 3 in the morning.
