My new house...update

Well, I will be renting a room in this house but get full house privileges. I move in on June 1st for only $300 per month! Will be able to cut my salon hours back and also pay off some bills. This also includes a garage.
Will be going back tomorrow to get pics of inside including my room (need to measure to see what will fit).

Good to see and hear. I guess this means they are letting you out of your lease. Yay!

Here's hoping you like the people you'll be sharing with. House is really cute and so is the yard.

Nice-looking house -- and yard with real gardening! Was that the edge of a hoop house I saw in one photo? Veggie garden?

Have fun!!

The house deal fell thru... I went over to look at and measure the room for my furniture. I met the other roommate and her dog...a large, young, unneutered male. He was friendly but kept humping my legs and wouldn't stop jumping on me. The other dog is a Doberman/mastiff mix, also friendly but high energy. I felt very uncomfortable about having Lola in the house with them. We agreed it wasn't going to be a good fit.

I found two other places for rent on CL so will check into them.

Oh, that is disappointing! I'm so sorry.

I know you'll sort something out. You are good at finding solutions.

Oh Barbie, so sorry it didn't work out but I sure understand. I wish people who get big dogs would take the time to train them. Its annoying enough when my little dogs jump on you - I use a squirt bottle and it works like a charm.

Be super careful on CL. They are prone to the scam where someone rents you a house or room who doesn't actually live there or own the property. They take your deposit and first month's rent and you never see them again.

Those CL scams have happened here in Sacramento area as well. Several variations, one of which was to copy a real estate listing, advertise using it, take the deposit and first month, and client shows up to move in only to find other people also there who thought they were renting or buying and none of them had legitimate contracts so all were out of luck! Buyer or renter beware these days.
