Patty, I'm not sure what to write, this awful "C " doesn't leave anyone alone and everyone has different battles with it. I just hated to hear it had caught you too !! I will keep you in my prayers, please keep us posted , we all will be thinking of you, praying for you and those of us who have not met you will be doubling those prayers so we will have that chance of a GTG with you.

So glad your family are there to help you, having any of them around will be a blessing at this time,

Patty - There's no right or wrong thing to say - just that we all care. I'm always asked "did you smoke" whenever I have a bout of bronchitis, etc. I started smoking in the hospital at the birth of my first son, and my OBGYN used to bum cigarettes from me! None of us knew there would be problems 50 years down the road. We were told if we quit smoking our lungs would rejuvenate and be "good as new". I quit in 1972, but where's the good as new part? Now we see younger folks who smugly convey that we brought our medical problems on ourselves. Please don't buy into the attitude. And try every new procedure you can. Cancer is a formidable enemy, but with the combined prayers of women all around the country, we will be present with every new attempt you make to kick it. We will whoop and holler for every step forward, and boo and hiss for each one back. But mostly, we will stand up and cheer for a feisty, daring gal we call Patty K.

Patty you will be sorely missed at your spot in the Ruby Mountains. Enjoy your family. Give lots of hugs to Sammie. Fight like crazy! You will be on many minds and hearts and lots of prayers for your well being will be said over and over. You have been an inspiration for many of us and you will continue in that role. May God be with you, help you and sustain you during your journey.
