Snowy Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Snowy Saturday

Postby Colliemom » Sat Apr 02, 2016 7:34 am

Yes, winter is still hanging on in some parts of the north. But I will gladly deal with it compared to some of the weather that's been going on elsewhere. This will be a kind of kick back and relax, pack a few boxes etc. weekend. Last one to live "normal" for awhile  Papers are signed, pictures taken and listing becomes official on Monday. After that it's "show mode", 24/7 and who knows what from there. But I have a house in mind in the neighborhood and also on wheels, parked next to the garage. Watching home remodeling shows onHGTV this morning and need to call Realtor too. Fur kids are having morning nap after playing outside.

Nikki, I too am on the Walmart Humana prescription plan and am very happy with it. Don't use Walmart here either. My Medigap plan is with Blue Cross Blue Shield and has been a very good policy. Good luck looking and also with house decision. I sat on fence for a long time before finally deciding to take the plunge. One thing that does help is to take a long trip for a month or more and then when you get home, it will either feel good to be back there or it won't. For me it did, but the open road is starting to call again, hence the downsizing on my behalf.

So all's well with the world here and hoping same for all of you. I have breakfast fixings here, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast. So put in your orders :D Hope you have a nice weekend.

Good Sat. morning. Sue, I'm watching the weather too! Looks like we're going to get some of what you're having at some point in the next day or so. But as you said, I'll take this over what has been happening in other areas! If it snows like they say it will I will probably let the sun melt it off rather then shovel it!

I managed to get some more things done in the house and a couple more bags to donate. Slow but sure! Not even close to doing what you're doing, Sue!

I got a call last night from a friend and former co-worker last night and we finally set up a time to have dinner this week. We've been saying for ages we wanted to do this and schedules just didn't mesh! I'm looking forward to catching up with her!

Well, time to get moving and get the hair washed so I can get a couple of things done today. Carolb, hope you are staying ahead or behind this weather! And hope everyone else in the path stay safe. Have a good day and travel safe.

Good morning gals!
Partly sunny but very, very windy! And cold! (26* with a windchill of 10* :o ) Will start warming up again after today tho.

Went to my physical therapy yesterday. Learned more exercises and got a cortisone patch put on. Can't say that really helped much tho. Today I am going to go out and buy some Kinesio Tape to put on to keep my shoulder joint stable during work, which I go back to tomorrow.

Otherwise, will stay quiet today and listen to the wind howl!

Hope you all have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Donna, maybe you will get some cooler weather after the storm passes. It got down to 52 last night after the rain and cold front passed. I never did hear how much rain we got but it was still raining when I went to feed the barn cats at 6:30 last night. Just glad we didn't get any of the tornadoes. Our electricity went off for about an hour after lunch. Today is a good day for the seafood cook-off at the state park. I think I will just cook my own seafood.

Sue, hope your house sale goes well. You have a lot to take care of.

My former co-workers use to get together once a year but that doesn't happen anymore. It's going on 9 years since the office closed. Hard to believe it's been that long. Now I see them in Walmart.

I was going through my closet this morning and I found 3 pair of jeans and a shirt I can get rid of. Slow progress. Now they will ride around in my car for a month before I remember to drop them off.

I need to go to the grocery store but not moving very fast. I have been putting it off for 3 days.

Good morning from beautiful sunny California. No, I'm not trying to rub it in, it's just a fact. I'm trying to talk myself into doing laundry and cleaning house today. It doesn't seem right to be outside having fun every day when there's work to be done. I'm having a second cup of coffee while I think it over.

I will be in this campground outside Yosemite until my reservation in the NP begins April 17. I am going to be spoiled by the full hookups, free WiFi, and cable TV. But there is so much to see and do in the area, I doubt I will be sitting around much.

I hope everyone in the path of storms stays safe, and warmer weather is coming for us all soon.

Whadda ya know, I made it here while it's still morning. Barbie, I am so sorry that you've hurt yourself. Doing physical work for as long as you have must take a toll. I hope you heal quickly

It's the south Texas version of cool here this morning, 61F now and predicted to go only as high as 72F. Two days ago it was in the nineties.

The irrigation guy is almost finished fixing/refurbishing the yard irrigation. The old system had lots of hoses that deteriorated over the years. They're being replaced with pipe and heads. Lots of old heads being replaced. I think I found someone to maintain the yard if/when I travel. Sue, I'm sure you're right. It would be helpful to take a long trip and see how I feel when I get back. Good luck living in a model home with two dogs. Oh, Lordy! Do collies shed? And thank you for the Medicare info.

Yesterday morning, or maybe the day before, there were nine Egyptian geese in the cul de sac. A week or so ago there were four cardinals in my backyard.

Morning all. Martha you are a brave woman to go to grocery shopping on a weekend. I usually try for Fri as the fresh stuff is there but awful customer crowd not. And Martha we has hail here with the front passage yesterday morning. It wasn't a clipper so don't know if that was the you got last night. Sue, you have been working on your house for about two years...really attacking buts and pieces. You deserve to get a quick sale at a really good price. Have you considered a contingent offer on the other house? Perhaps your area doesn't practice that particular type of sale, but you might want to look at it. Never hurts to ask as the best answer is yes and the worst is no and you are already at the no point. Donna, lots of puppers are concerned about their changes until they get used to it. Proud Phoebe is working as quick as she can but she stills has ghosts and probably keeps thinking 'can this hooman be real?'. Barbara at wind chill of 10 your shoulder may be frozen in place. Good luck with that. Othersharon, meet ups with coworkers can be fun, especially afterwards when you reflect on the was and now. I have enjoyed doing that. Nikki, from your yesterday post I see you are researching medigap and script companies. Good luck with that. Throw in AARP that is administered by United Health Care. I think that Chris helped her hubby last Nov/Dec with research on that and remember his health problems. And they are in TX. She can maybe help you. Liz, go play. I can guarantee the rig will not be cleaned by that fairy, she is a lazy fairy!

Wow, wrote a book. Well sunny here today with a bit of wind. Will warm up some short ribs I cooked yesterday add some sweet potato fries and coleslaw and call it lunch. Be safe on the road. Look life in the eye and go for it! Have fun.

Turned in rental car and headed to Borrego Springs today but going to be horribly hot there so only staying two days and then heading north to Arizona.

Nikki, make sure you ask for a traditional Medicare part C, not Medicare Advantage. You don't want to be limited to locations. I went with United Health through AARP and have been very happy with it.

Have a good day, everyone.

Morning is over and it was busy.

Nikki, I had Humana Advantage program and was happy with it until they raised premiums big time for my 'home' area in Washington State. I do my doctor thing in Kansas and had no issue. Now have Regence with no issues. No matter what, you just don't want HMO coverage but a PPO.

Sue, I hope everything falls into place easily with your house sale and purchase! Barbie, be careful with that shoulder! Liz, I've been playing so much that I really have a mess (as usual), but my daughter is coming and a better house keeper than me! You continue to see such wonderful sights - including the beautiful wildflowers. Wildlife is still hiding around here though seeing a cougar one day was a surprise.

Washed and loaded the SS yesterday. After a month of no air loss in the trailer air bags, it was low this morning! :( However, when I turned on the switch, it aired right back up. SS won't be quite the attraction on the trailer now as I bought a full cover for it.

Marda (wicked lady) pulled in last evening. We had coffee together this morning. Then I got busy as tomorrow is moving day. Heading to Anaheim and daughter will fly in Monday morning. Look out Disneyland!! Also had dinner with classmate, her hubby and another couple last evening.

Break is over and time to get the clean sheets on the bed!

Safe travels to those on the road and those in the nasty weather, this too shall pass - hopefully!
