Thursday, goodbye March

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday, goodbye March

Postby carolb » Thu Mar 31, 2016 6:36 am

Gmorning all:)

Second morning of waking to 20some degree weather. Thankfully, furnace is pumping out some good heat! I've slowly made it to Albq (just west of), trying to keep out of passing weather fronts. Did El Morro NP yesterday, had snow off & on, but fortunately the wind has died down a bit, actually a lot!

Sounds like all you "purgers" are making headway:) It's a tough job! Nice feeling to be "moving on" though? Crikey, looks like I could do some purging here in HB--how I accumulated stuff on the road, I'll never know!

Waiting for daybreak to get on the road. Looks like a nice stretch of old Rt 66 I can travel to Albq. Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

I did find a picnic table with a shelter top... shared my chicken with Pheebe.. took a ride around the campground seeing what sites might be available and booked one for Thursday and Friday... Carolb, hope you can stay between the storms. Last night the wind was really noisy. We have a metal roof and metal overhangs and the wind can really make noise with them. It looks wet outside but most of the rain missed us.

A Panera Bread opened about a year ago in Lafayette. I picked up some food there and it was all tasteless. They are building another one in the Costco area. I need to give them another try to see if the food has improved. I guess we are use to food being well seasoned.

I need to do some purging in my closet. I was reading somewhere that you should take all the clothes out and only put back what you want to keep. I can only think that would be a mess.

Martha, it might depend on what you get. Panera bread is a place I used to like. Long time since I've gone, though.

I still prefer the regional park outside Fountain Hills, but there's nothing wrong with this one... Judy's favorite. Just personal preference. Going to join a guided hike this morning. Will see how that goes.

March sure went by in a flash! Hard to believe tomorrow is April!! We had such an early spring I'm afraid it may be summer way too soon.

We have a Panera I don't eat there much, but will go for coffee with friends. If you go on their web site and search you can find a list of ingredients, if you are watching your salt it is very high in everything. Even the bagels are in the over 700 range! I sent a message to them one time asking how they could say their food is healthy with all the salt it contains. Their reply was, they were working on it. I notice they do put the calorie content on each item now which is shocking.

Has anyone kept in touch with Judi, I haven't seen any posts from her in some time. Last I read she had bought a cottage on the beach in Oregon and planned to live there part time and travel part time. Would love to know how she is doing.

I do not eat at Panera Bread often... but I do like their Greek salad and I forgot what kind of sandwich I used to get so I went with the chicken and it was very good Fontana cheese was on it and some kind of sauce it sounded spicy but it was not the girl said it wasn't she was right I don't like real spicy... I have to agree it does look like a rubber chicken at first glance anyway everybody got a good laugh over it... we are now set up at Wickham Park campground... snowbirds are leaving and there are sites available but in the middle of April the Brevard County veterans take over the whole place for 2 weeks but by then I hope I am getting my cataracts done and I won't have to worry about coming over until after that

Good Morning,

Carolb, glad to know where you are! The weather is playing havoc with many - right now for us it has been 4 days of wind! Plus the temps have dropped. My route to Washington had snow the other day, but I don't head that way for 2 weeks.

Lyn thinking of you as you prepare for surgery tomorrow. Hoping all goes well and you can be back on the road soon!

I leave here Sunday for Anaheim and daughter flies in Monday morning. Looking forward to Disney time! After that I'll stop at Sharon's for a couple nights so we can ride!

Can't get my brain in gear this morning, so hope all are doing well!

Still morning here is California. I got a rental car so yesterday I went over to visit the other lady (my aunt's niece) who will jointly be responsible with me for supervising the care of our aunt and uncle who live in Georgia. They are getting older and we are trying to get them to move to their condo in Florida. Beautiful home overlooking a valley and mountains!

And tomorrow, I am headed out to visit an old friend who lives in Laguna Woods. Will meet for lunch and then I might head for the beach to check it and a state park out. Been cold here but supposed to get warmer. Since I am headed to Borrego Springs on Saturday for a few days, it will be really warmer--90 degrees! Then I will head to Arches and some other places in Utah.

Going to do some reorganizing and cleaning today, so got lots to do.
