A lesson learned about hiking in the desert, even in March.

One dangerous thing, as I learned, that it is important to be hiking when a lot of other people were on the trail. You were starting out when the others were returning, so if you had gotten sick or injured, you would have been in trouble. Any cell service in that area? I am always taking my cell phone from now on, plus a flashlight, in case I get stuck somewhere after dark so someone can find me.

Glad you were smart enough to turn around and not continue. Nice that the trail had a bench and some shade, though.

There were still a lot of people in the parking lot when I started out, so I wasn't sure how many were on the trail or planning to be. I did pass another couple while on my way back. But if I'd been really smart, I would have stuck to my original plan and done the hike early in the morning.
