Hello Winter!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Hello Winter!

Postby Colliemom » Mon Mar 21, 2016 6:47 am

Morning,

Well, Cheryl started yesterday off with a Hello Spring banner and since we got a light dusting of snow last night and have snow in our forecast for this week, may as well say hi to Winter again. Typical weather for this time of year. I always say, winter has to have one last hurrah and I think this will be it. When Easter falls early like this, we can usually bank on winter weather. They are calling for rain this Sunday though. Phooey. I always look forward to a glorious sun rise on Easter morning. Fitting for the day.

So nice to see so many posting yesterday. Some on the road or want to be, some baby sitting, some enjoying spring weather etc. Sounds like all is well in your world for the most part right now.

Well, I have some news from here. Made the decision to list my home for sale. Has been on my mind for a few years now and I'm sure many of you know i have been talking about it. Time to downsize. It was the one big reason I have been doing so much "spring" cleaning here these past few weeks and clearing out more "stuff". Called my agent yesterday and we will get together after Easter. He and his family are going to be out of town this week and weather is going to be nasty anyway. He will get with me after they get home next week. Wants a nice sunny day to take pictures anyway as wants to show off my curb appeal in good weather. So this week I am going to finish up loose ends around here, take some things to Habitat for Humanity and get the place into "show" mode. I have my eye on a house around the corner here that's on the lake and am going to try to buy it. Smaller, only 1000 sq ft. but would be just right size for me. Needs a new roof and some cosmetic upgrades, but you know me and my ambition Well, not the roof part, I'll deal with the painting. Girls are going to have to live with a smaller yard than what they have now, but they can watch the waterfowl and what ever else is on the lake, so I think they will enjoy that. i will enjoy the fireplace in the living room come colder weather :) So, will be busy packing up stuff little by little. Not going to do too much too soon as don't want boxes sitting all over and having to carry them up and down basement stairs. I'm getting excited but aprehensive at same time. Big decision, hope all goes well etc.

So that's my new for today. Going to head to town in a little while. Need to pick up some things and check on some things, drop off some things at Habitat etc. so can spend rest of week doing the stuff in here. You all have a good day out there.
:)

Wow Sue, congratulations on the decision! I hope it all works out well for you and the girls.
Winter came back here too, although briefly, yesterday. I was on the computer happily writing an email to a friend about our lovely full blown spring. When I finished and turned around I saw the biggest snowflakes pelting down I could hardly see through them and the ground was almost covered!! By afternoon the sun was back out and spring had returned.
You make fast decisions Cheryl, next time I trade cars I'll call and have you help. Sounds like you did 'good'!
Time to get the day rolling here, need to groom on a dog for awhile and get ready for yoga class.

Good morning all. Congratulations, Sue, on your decision to make a downsize move! I'm working toward that! Just no time frame yet! So much to do here to get ready for it! Both in getting rid of belongings and ongoing things with the house. It will come when the time is right! I managed to get some cleaning done yesterday and then DIL texted that son was making soup for dinner if I wanted to come. So off I went, stopped at the store to get his special noodles for soup. They said since I knew where to get them! Last time it was a hunt for me and the store staff! Plus I got smart and took a couple of containers for leftovers! So now I have a couple of small servings in the freezer for another time! He can't make a small batch of soup, it always grows! Family trait? :D

We didn't get snow here yesterday but apparently they did in some of the higher mountain areas. No complaint from me! The sun is out today but it sure isn't going to be warm today. But I'll take it, sun is good!

Ava, sounds like you do have lots of good things happpening for you! And Catherine, I couldn't agree with you more. People are so much more important then work. Work will be there, people, you never know. Beth, hard to believe its been 2 years since you got your new RV. I realized its been almost the same for me, come next month. I just don't know where the time has gone. Well, time to get a move on. Need to finish some laundry and cleaning upstairs. Have a good day and if you are on the road, be safe.

Good luck on the purchase and sale, Sue. Exciting news.

I need to do a few last minute things here then will be on the road today. Only headed to Tucson for a few days, but so happy to get back into travel mode. After Tucson, north.

Good Morning,

Sue, congrats on the decision. The smaller house on a lake sounds wonderful! Catherine, that snuggly little girl is now going to give you a run for your money as she gets around! Beth, safe travels and enjoy this time on the road.

I was having an afternoon cup of coffee yesterday when a rig pulled in next door - Sandi!! We had a good visit last evening and I got to meet Bindi. I think I'll be desert riding today, but thinking we might take the SS up toward Prescott tomorrow. I need some curve driving time!

Make the most of your day and safe travels!!

Good decision to sell your house, Sue. A smaller house will give you less to clean and fuss over, so you will have more time to travel! And being on a lake is nice.

I am spending day at campground near Disneyland. Kids are gone for the day and I am trying to get my last things graded so I can turn in grades on Thursday. Got also to get ready for next semester and syllabus has to be open on Friday! I want to be free to enjoy next three days at the theme parks.

Oh, and I discovered a windshield crack. Just reported it to insurance--when it rains it pours, I guess! More money to be spent, I suspect.

Sue, congratulations! It's been hot here in south Texas, but the last few days have been cooler and I've spent some time in the backyard. Hope everyone is doing OK despite life's ups and downs. You're right, Judy, when it rains it pours.

How exciting, Sue 8-) My friend, Ken, got his house in Mancelona sold and has bought a house in Florence, AZ. It's in a fancy Del Web community, with the golf course and tons of amenities. We had a little housewarming get together on Thurs. afternoon/eve and tested out his oven with Papa Murphy's pizza. We took chairs and sat out on his patio. I think he is going to be very happy there.

While Ken was off to the dermatologist and some other errands, this morning, I groomed Rags. I paid a groomer (only the 2nd time I've done that) awhile back. That is such a splurge, so went back to doing it myself. I had my clipper blades sharpened when I was back in Iowa, last fall. Wow! What a difference that made! It was so much quicker and easier. He looks so handsome ;) Guessing I will probably have to bathe him once more, right before I leave here, as he gets so filthy from the desert dirt.

I have been reading again. Kind of got away from it for awhile. The Nook that my daughter handed down to me, and the books she put on it, were haunting me. Read all of the Hunger Games books, so I'm now in the process of watching the movies. Just read "The Orphan Train" by Christina Baker Kline. I remember suggesting it to my mom, for her book club selection, as she was an orphan. I could hardly put it down! I rarely watch TV anymore.

Well, better walk the boys. We're going over to some friends' for happy hour. They're heading out for Minnesota, tomorrow. Oh...and pick up my movies :D
