You will be about 2 hrs. from where I live -- not to far away from where you will be working, WI has reintroduced Elk and the herd is now about 90 strong -
If you have never been to WI before, there is a lot of great areas to explore. Enjoy yourself!

Sounds like we should be planning something 8-) I used to go to visit my ex's relatives, in St. Croix Falls. I loved going to WI! Have always wanted to see more of the state. I'm sure I will enjoy.

Sounds like a WI GTG in the making here! I plan on spending a few days with Linda too but don't have a date in mind yet.

Linda, just saw your post. When will you be there? I'm going to be in the U.P. On and off this summer, so can just add a few more days. Need to look up where you are.

Rosemary, I have crisscrossed back and forth across WI but there are places yet to be discovered. Am pursuing a travel guide right now, or was till I got busy with spring cleaning  I will be in MCLain State Park in August as well as VanRiper State Park. Might add WI right now that trip or do separate. Some want a fall Midwest GTG, so will have to figure it out. Linda, how long will you be there into Fall?

You are close to where I stayed at the Stevens Point South KOA on my way home from the Utah west last summer. Really nice area.

I'm up for a WI GTG, too! Will watch for details and see if it fits our plans. Selling house, moving smaller & buying an RV this spring/summer so all dates are jello.

There is a lot of great places in WI and the UP, as well as MN. My summer always depends on work-- I will stay in touch and see what everyone is up to in the coming months.
Sue are you still planning on going to Gettysburg?

Not right now. I've put it on the back burner at the moment. My travel funds are low and want to build them up first. So if I do, it will be a fall thing. IN the meantime I will be camping in MI, Mitchell State Park in Cadillac, June 19-22, Wilderness State Park south of Mackinaw City, July 11-14th, Indian Lake State Park, July 32, Mclain State Park, August 1-5, Van Riper State Park, August 5-8, those are all in the western U.P., well, Indian Lake is in the central. Those are all the reservations I have made at this point.

Does anyone know how Pinterest works? I use to not be able to see some of their stuff because I wasn't signed up. Lately I have been getting emails from them and I don't remember ever signing up. Just what I need is more recipes. lol

It's a pretty simple sign up on Pinterest. And it's not all recipes, but if you look at things on Pinterest they will send you an email of things in the categories you looked at, based on what categories of things you spent time looking at. I do a glance and delete on the emails. Sometimes i see something i want to look further at, sometimes not. I don't add anything to Pinterest of my own. I just look and pin stuff I like so I can find it again under categories that make sense to me. It's like having a bulletin board I can look at, organized so I can find stuff again. Did you have a specific question Martha?

I was just wondering how they managed to get my email. I'm pretty sure if I looked at something it was on Facebook and more than likely it was a recipe. That is mostly what is in the emails I get.

I bet it's a setting on Facebook. If you went via a Facebook link to a Pinterest recipe, your Facebook could be set to share with Pinterest. You really have to pay attention to facebook because periodically they change something and it resets certain security features which could open something you don't want. Take your time and go through all Facebook security settings and think carefully about what you allow shared. I am much more careful also about what I click like on in Facebook because that like can have further reaching consequences than it used to. I figured out that many of the like buttons linked to sites created to gather likes to earn money and others simply wanted to gather your like so they could send you advertising. While I appreciate my friends right to like everything that comes through their Facebook page, it doesn't mean I want to connect with those items so now I often click the ^ in the upper right corner and wait for it to open the panel and I tell it I don't want to hear from that person or site my friend had sent via their like. I can still hear from my friend but cut out Joe Shmoe who wants me to like that picture of that disabled child or the million other things they try to entice you to sympathy like. Slowly but surely using that ^ has cut down on junk while letting me see what I want and connecting with my friends.

That's strange. I can't imagine how Pinterest got your email, but it sure sounds like you have an account there now. I suppose you could find it and close it, if the emails annoy you. I typically delete their emails without reading; their algorhythms aren't good enough to reliably choose pins that interest me.

I like pinterest, though. It's like cutting articles etc out of the newspaper or magazines -- without all the messy storage/organization issues!

I like some of the recipes on Pinterest and their emails don't bother me. Just one of the other thousand I get. lol I just remember in the past I had tried to view some of their posts and I couldn't. Most of the time I'm not interested in something that I have to join.

I have learned on Facebook that most of the posts that have the word Sponsored under the title are junk. They are seldom what they say they are and are trying to sell you something. I have even had them freeze up my computer and had to get my son to show me how to get rid of them.
