Wonderful Weekend

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wonderful Weekend

Postby Colliemom » Sat Mar 12, 2016 7:02 am

Good Morning all,

Looks like a wonderful weekend on tap here. Sunny and near 60 today. I"ll take it. Planning to go rake some parts of my backyard. Still have some snow laying out there, but I can work around it. Darn voles are pushing up dirt as they make their little trails across the yard so need to rake them down and also clean up the winter's worth of "doggie doo". But first, going to meet with my Real Estate agent and look at a house down the road here that's up for sale. Been kind of eyeing it since last fall, as it's smaller than this one and has a smaller yard. But also has some roof issues and I don't know condition of mechanical's or septic/drain field system. So am kind of hedging on it. But want to take a look a second time. Load of washing in washer already too, so my morning is moving right along. Taxes are done as far as we can go till I get the form I am waiting for, then they will finish them up. And I am done with spring cleaning :D Have some minor paint touch ups to do and a couple of other things, but will do that this week as looks like some wet weather coming in. Took a load of stuff to the Salvation Army store yesterday too. JudyJB, you mentioned my house is probably cleaner than those of you with houses on or off wheels, well my house on wheels is next, But it's so nice walking into the house and it smells so clean and fresh.

Sarah, that was nice of the neighbors to invite you over for dinner with them and friends. That happened to me a couple of summers ago when I was camping up in the U.P. There were a bunch of people there from WI who come up every year to fish on Lake Gogebic where I was and had a mess of fish. Got invited over for a fish fry and boy was it good.

So that's my story for today and I'm sticking to it  I've got bacon, sausage, eggs, toast here if anybody wants breakfast. Better hurry though as the kitchen will be closing before long. After that you are on your own. Have a nice day everyone.

Just checking in. I have started back to work at the seasonal scoring job and we have hit the ground running this week after training last week. I will call today "Overtime Saturday" as they have already offered us the opportunity to work on Saturday. Dog grooming will need to wait until tomorrow. The $$$ per hour is just to pretty to pass up. It can pay for a few more dog show entries and RV miles. :)

Unlike Sue, my house will not get a spring cleaning. I don't think it ever has unfortunately, and I won't really worry too much because I don't plan to be here all that much. Sue, I do admire your efforts though. Have some wonderful adventures out there. Everyday is a chance to make discoveries whether or not your wheels are rolling. Keep you eyes open for the potential!

My wheels will be rolling today, but not too far. Just about an hour's drive to Wickenburg where I have reservations tomorrow for a 3-hour horseback ride. Then Monday I'll be off to new adventures.

I've had a wonderful week here in Salome with Anita and her friends. Anita was kind enough to give up her seat in Leroy's RZR every day for long rides in the desert. She rode with another friend on the back of a 4x4, which I know was not very comfortable, and she got far more dusty than I did. There are countless trails that can be followed right from the campground to or past old mines and abandoned buildings, rock shelters, and othe historic sites. The desert cacti are beginning to bloom, and the views are spectacular. Can't thank her enough, but time to let her have her seat back.

Our weather has been perfect, and I hope it settles down for those in places it has not.

Good morning. Well, I think I'm back in then world of the living. I managed to pick up something that's had me down for most of the last week. I've managed to do what had to be done but not much else. I didn't even enjoy the couple of warm days we had! Feeling better so far this morning but probably won't push it! I see I missed Irma and Sandi's birthdays so belated good wishes to you both! Liz, sounds like you had a great time with Anita. And loved the photos! Sue, you have just to much energy for me! Now on to planning your fun times! Been watching the floods in the south and hoping everyone down there stay safe and aren't getting flooded.

I've got to remember to change all the clocks tonight. I'll probably do what I usually do and change the ones upstairs when I go up to shower and make my bed so they'll be done. I'll worry about the ones in the kitchen later today. Then I just have to remember if I changed the one I'm looking at or not! :D That may be the only thing I get done today! So not much else to report here. Just wanted to check in and say good morning. Have a good day and if you are traveling, be safe (Ava, you jumped in here and a pic of the man in your life! So happy for you!)

Mornin' ladies ~~~

Minor things on the agenda today, vacuumed already and off to Mom's shortly to refresh her memory on the talk with the financial guy last week. The rest of the house will have to wait. My to do list is 1) find a landscaper to pull those dead bushes and freshen up the front of the house and 2) find a painter for the outside (minimal because of siding) and to do the great room (funny name for a front room, dining room, kitchen combo). No way I'm doing the 14' ceiling again or by the basement stairs since I fell down them when I painted there. Let a pro do it. Sounds like I'm prepping for a house sale. Maybe in a year or two, but these 2 items really need to get done.

Happy looking friend you have there Ava. The smile in your posts reflects in his smile. So happy you have a fine guy to do things with.

I think Sue should plan Spring trips going to Tina's and my house to help with Spring cleaning. I already did the winter yard clean-up a few weeks ago, so it's wouldn't be that bad

That's about it for today. Have a good day everyone and stay safe on the roads.

Good Morning Everyone !!! Sharon, I do hope you are on the mend, sounds like you had much the same as my grandson last week, poor little one he didn't really move, so you know he was really sick. When we are older this crap hits us harder so sure hope you feel better soon !! Glad I had a flu shot, hoping it kicks in and I waltz away with no effects  I'm planning a weeks get away at HL again next week, to do a wee bit of organizing, bought a 3 door plastic drawer unit with hooks where doors don't slide open, fits nicely right behind drivers seat. Want to get small stuff that lays everywhere in it or gone. Then will be back here the 20th to babysit for Spring break and then my son will be here shortly afterwards. Wanted to be heading out of the state right after the dr visit the 4th but not looking like those plans will work. Oh well !!!!
Tina, I love your thoughts , I play to much to do really much cleaning let alone spring cleaning, I sure admire Sue though. She has an agenda and when or if she decides to sell, there will be no problem or rush to do anything there. Going smaller though Sue, sounds like you will be starting all that work and repairs all over again. Taking your fun time and funds away. And Liz, think we all have a wee bit of envy for your past week and fun with Anita. Thank you so much for your blogs, what a beautiful and interesting area you all have explored. Ava, now he's a hunk, no wonder you are all but off in lala land girl. And he is so caring of you, that is great !!!!!! Enjoy your holiday, I doubt it makes much difference where you go or what you do, as long as you are with him, right ???? Have fun, you surely deserve it all !!!

I need to get moving, some things I wanted to do here my last day for a week, and this is not doing them :D Have a great day everyone, those in stormy areas, please take care, those on the road, even for a short time, watch the other guy, he's the problem

Stay safe,

Good Morning!

I am going to hate to see Liz leave! My ride was much dirtier on the 4x4, but it washes off. The anxiety of traveling over some of the terrain was a little disconcerting at times, but I trust Terry - maybe a little less than I did before he tipped his quad over a couple weeks ago! It really has been great fun. I had planned to stay home today, but last night they announced where today's ride would be to. I've already been there twice this season, but it's a favorite so off I go. Liz, you can have my seat anytime!!

Ava, thanks for the photo - nice choice! Sue, spring cleaning just isn't happening - yet. Tina, always good to have $$$ for fun! Sharon, sorry you've been under the weather.

Liz just came for goodbyes :( Has been a joy to travel with her this winter.

Make the most of your day and stay safe particularly if you are in the bad weather zone.

And now Cheryl and CArol have snuck in while I was goodbying!

Darn, it is raining again or should I say still. I thought it was going to move off but it just keeps coming in off the gulf. North Louisiana is getting more rain and that is just going to add to their problems. I went to the Dutch Oven cookout at the park this morning. They only had about a fourth of the people that were there last month. It was only raining lightly off and on this morning. The heavy rain started after I got home.

I doubt there will be much spring cleaning here. I'm doing good to do maintenance cleaning. I really need to get on the tax work. I hate that so much. I will be happy if I can just get the shades replaced in the living room. I measure the window, look at shades on line, can't decide what I want, lose the measurements, forget about ordering shades.

I need to finish hemming some jeans so I can put all my sewing stuff up.

Verified that my shades were in, so I am on schedule to get them installed on Monday. Yea! Will be glad to get rid of the old crap.

I moved to Picacho Peak SP this morning, moving very slowly while trying not to kick off my vertigo. I am mostly a lot better, but still get dizzy if I bend over to pick something up. I had to fill fresh water tank, and managed to get parked. Only thing to hook up was electric, but I forgot to drop off trash this morning. It is a long walk to the campground dumpsters. However, just looked across the way to a nearby picnic area and saw they had dumpsters, so am going to walk a ways through the desert instead of all the way back to the entrance. I don't want to lose my balance and fall. Managed to change towels in bathroom and wipe down sink and floor, but had to be careful. So now I am sitting in front of TV and relaxing.

I did talk to my cousin who is an expert at vertigo since he has it very often, and he gave me the names of a couple of meds he takes. If I am still having problems on Monday, I will try to find an urgent care center.

Went Kayaking on one of the rivers here in WI on Sat. who would have guessed that the weather would be that nice in WI in March! :o
A friend and I have made reservations in a couple of the MO parks for the middle - end of April for kayaking and hiking. She just bought a van and is remodeling that for camping, so we both are excited about the trip.
Today (Sunday) I have some friends coming back from their winter trip to TN, that will be spending a couple days. So now I have to clean!

Everyone have a nice day and safe travels...
