Thawing Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thawing Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Mar 10, 2016 7:54 am

Big thaw continues here, snow melting away slow but sure. Cherry and grape growers getting concerned about trees and vines budding out to soon. This happened a couple years ago and then we had a hard freeze and wiped out the tart cherry crop.

Heading to dentist in a short, then to store and back home. Need to get tax stuff ready for tomorrow although won't be able to file as have to wait for a form, but at least process will be started. House cleaning just about done. Did kitchen yesterday, got cupboard wiped out, some dusty items that are rarely used washed and put back, weeded out some things I haven't used in years. So a lot accomplished. One more room and closet to do :)

Okay, gotta go. Y'all have a nice day and hope none are in the flood areas.

Good morning ladies
Had a fun day yesterday, took a ride out to the shooting range
for a little practice, something I hadn't done in over 16 years.
It was fun, had the neighbor with us, who I found out was the
guy that built the hiking trails and set up the old Dominion mine
for the public. He also took us up into the hills where the old
original cemetary for Superior was, the town has been moved
3 times. Got a little lesson there. Tomorrow he is taking us up
where people dig for the Indian teardrops.
Also doing a little bit of maintenance on the motor home to get
it on the road this summer. Its been sitting for two years. I'm
real excited about that!
Few chores to do today, little bit of laundry and repack for the trip
to Texas. We pull out Sunday morning early.
Y'all have a great day, be safe and be healthy.

Good Morning Sue and Donna and Everyone, Sue, you wear me out all the spring cleaning you've been doing. Decided just not to get tired reading your post but to do some here at my DD's house. It needs it and hoping I don't throw something she wanted, that's been laying there for ages. With work, kids and VA activites etc. she really doesn't have the time, so hoping I am helping not causing world war 3 here. Started with frig this morning, now its clean and has room for stuff :D Her brother my son will be here in 2 weeks, and know she would like to have some of this stuff done.

Donna, you sound happy, and with a plan. Wish I could get a plan going for me. Loved your morning picture this morning, and you were out early !!

My jello plans for this winter have slowly fallen through. My friend had a stroke, another friend has mrsa,? so can't go there at all. Then my DD comes up with Spring break will be here 20th and could I keep kids, so guess its all worked out for the best. I will visit my friend (stroke) in rehab in a short time, want her to have a chance to do something for herself, she was so determined, last I talked to her. So know she would like to have a start to getting her legs going again. She'd like to be home before I leave, think that's her incentive to really work hard there.

Sun keeps coming and going this morning, which is ok, my DD is having her house painted and guy prefers not to be in sun, so good day for him. My breaks over, got to get moving, had my water, and rested back, so time to move or maybe I won't

Have a good day everyone, stay safe and enjoy your day however you choose too, that makes you happy,
CArol
our happy friend Ava, snuck in on me, I am so happy for you and your travel plans, you are finally doing something on your Spring break to really make you happy. I keep looking for a picture of this guy who is making you so happy, he really has to be something, and I don't mean in looks, in personality, character and just a caring person, isn't that what at one time we all wanted ??? You go girl and you are making so many of our days brighter too, hearing how happy you are !!!

Sue, you absolutely must have the cleanest house of all of us--with wheels or without! You have so much energy.

I had a great day at the Sonoran Desert Museum yesterday. Rode my bike the almost four miles down the road to it and felt great, but today am really feeling lousy. Started late last night when my vertigo kicked in. It was so bad last night I could barely get up and stagger the three feet to my bathroom. Made sure I was drinking lot of water and checked my blood pressure which was a little high, but OK. I was supposed to walk down to the office and pay for two more days, but called them and told them I cannot walk safely, so could someone stop and pickup my check? They will do it on their rounds.

I have had problems with vertigo off and on for about 20 years. It is just inner ear stuff, per the doctor, but it sure makes things difficult. Usually only lasts a day or so, so I just have to be careful not to fall and try not to turn my head suddenly. So, I will just wait it out and hope that it is better tomorrow.

Good afternoon
A beautiful sunny day but the wind is brutal here again today. Magic is rocking.
Am a little concerned about Nicky. He has not had anything to eat or drink since daylight. We have taken 3 short walks; he peed and pooped on first 2 walks but nothing on the last one.. Not showing any discomfort from hind leg joint problems. This is not a dog that refuses food or water. In fact he drank a lot of water yesterday. All I can think of is he might be frightened by the wind or maybe has a tooth bothering him. Wish he could talk.
Hard to believe I only have about 1 1/2 days left before moving again - this will start my slow track homeward.
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!

Judy, have you had an MRI to rule out Otic Nerve Tumor? I had dizziness for a number of months and finally Dr ordered MRI. Turned out no tumor but proved my long standing belief that I had chronic sinus inflammation! Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for the suggestions, Velda, but yes, I did have an MRI a few years ago and everything bad was ruled out. I only get this about once every couple of months, and usually not so severely. It usually only lasts about a day or two, so it should resolve itself by tomorrow, with a little luck. This morning I was really stuffy and my left ear felt a bit funny, so I took something to open up my sinuses.

I'm fine as long as I sit quietly in my chair, but I got up a bit ago and had to search in a lower drawer for something, and that set it off again, so I need to try to not bend over or turn my head suddenly for a while. Hard to remember to do.

Glad your Dr was diligent enough to do the MRI which was reassuring to me when mine was done. Do hope you feel better soon as I know so well how awful it is. My Dr at the time was not sure what was going on but I told her it was worst when I turned to the left. She had me lie on her exam table and turn suddenly to left so she could watch my eyes for movement called nystagmus. She had to move quick as I almost fell off the table. After she caught me, she had this horrified look and apologized and said, don't do that again! It was amusing when I was ok again. She tried me on a pill for dizziness but I disliked how it felt so did not continue it. Was at least six mo before that first episode was over. I still get a hint of it once in a while, so am always careful upon standing ESP if I have a cold. Once up I know I am ok.

wish I could remember the name of it and if I wasn't so lazy could go back through texts for the name but there is an over the counter
med that helps that problem...also Kerry did exercises for it...not sure how they work one was like throwing herself backwards on the bed. would think
you could find them on the net...can find everything on the net right
if I find the name will come back with it

Shiela, you are probably thinking of Bonine. That is what Harold takes when he has a spell of dizziness. Bonine is for motion sickness. I don't know if Dramamine would work. I think it has different medicine but for the same thing.

don't think that is the name... if memory is correct from what Kerry told me it is or was used for cancer treatment however they discovered that it was great for
this issue as well.. texted her Meclezine is the name of the med
