Spring Cleaning Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Spring Cleaning Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Mar 03, 2016 7:59 am

Good Morning,

Cold here, bit below zero but going to warm up and keep warming up. Into 50's next week. That will take down more snow. Lost a lot last week too. So now that spring is coming, am into spring cleaning. One bedroom and closet done and today is my bedroom and closet. Be awhile before I can do anything outside, so time to do it in here. Want to get ready to lists in case something smaller pops up this spring.

Was nice seeing so many posts the other day and saying hi. Loved reading what some of you have been doing. IrmI, you and Steve are certainly into the better health routine. Good for you. I'm now down 28 pounds but every so often, hit a little plateau. Haven't been able to do my long daily walks either, due to icy roads from melting snow. Can do my road here, but not the same.

Birdie, I hear ya on the hitch itch. Same here. Can't wait to get going. Velda, sorry about Mel have a bit of pain. Hope it goes away shortly. Yes, it is hard to stay positive when setbacks occur, but you two have come so far. This is just a bump in the road. Martha, sounds like you have some fun times coming up. Barbie, that night walk sounds like fun, hope you go.

Time to move on here and get busy. Have a nice day everyone :D

Mornin' Sue and all that follow ~~~

Yup, a case of hitch itch here also. Have the appointment for Colt to get dewinterinzed in mid-April. Should be good weather according to the long range because of El Nino. Expecting much dryer summer also after the, what seemed like, continual rains last summer.

Work was on lock down yesterday because of a stalker ex-boyfriend of an employee. Cops in the parking lot all day. Today ~ nothing except the building manager sitting at the front desk. We'll see what happens today.

Mini-snow last night maybe 1/2 inch, and supposedly 60's next week. Can't wait.

Well better start working, have a good day everyone and stay safe on the roads.

Good morning all. Sunny here right now, supposed to cloud up later and snow in the forecast for tonight and into the morning. Only about an inch and as Cheryl said, warmer next week! I scheduled Lola's dewinterizing and a couple of little things that need done for early April. Hope I'm not rushing it but I too am getting anxious! Sue, I'm trying to get some spring cleaning done too! Just not sure if it's this year or finishing last year's! I never seem to get everything done that I think needs done! Cheryl, hope things are quieter at work today! That sounds a bit scary! Irmi, sounds like you are having a good winter!

Son called me yesterday and wanted to know if I wanted to take a little road trip. Got to ride in his new to him truck! Apparently it is GS approved! Kid likes that this truck has a bigger backseat and doors in the back, something the old truck didn't have! I always like taking these little trips since it gives us time to catch up! I need to go back to town agin today, I bought a purse and it had a security tag on it. I watched the clerk pop it off but for some reason there was a second one on it that we didn't see. I imagine there is a way of taking it off but I'm not willing to try it! I'm not even sure why it was on it, it wasn't even that expensive. Oh well!

Coffe is done so time to get a shower and get my day started! Hope everyone has good day and travel safe if you are on the road.

Sue, I wish I was as ambitious as you are with house cleaning. We have to put the trash out on Thursdays so I try to throw some things away. That's how I got a lot out of our old house. After we put our household trash in the barrel I would finish filling it up. It didn't seem like much but months of doing that made a big dent in the junk.

Cheryl, a stalking ex-boyfriend or ex-spouse is dangerous. I might have been sick today. My first husband drank and ran around all the time. When I finally had enough and left I had to get a restraining order. I had to call the police once and he finally got the message.

Sharon, I wish I enjoyed riding with my older son but he makes me too nervous. He was in the Air Force and I say he drives my motorhome like a government vehicle. If you have ever watched someone drive a fork lift that's what his driving reminds me of. And he drives too fast and tailgates. I am so glad we don't have to go to Florida to pick up my grandson this summer. The plan now is for him to fly. Sure hope that doesn't change.

It is overcast and gray this morning. It's already 71. I don't see any rain on the radar so don't know what the weather is up to.

Good morning ladies
Another early release day today, will give me little extra time
this evening to get things done. Still have a few things to pick up
for vacation, but I'm really so excited. We're taking crockpots to
do some dinners so we aren't always eating in restaurants. The rooms
also have microwaves and mini fridge so we will get groceries too.
Y'all have a great day, be safe

Good afternoon. Another beautiful warm day in SE FL. Sadly allergies are still on the wild side but meds have slowed some of the sneezing. Had planned to get my step count back up a little while here but that is not happening - walking and sneezing are not a good mix.
On one of our short walks yesterday I spotted an RV I recognized from when I was here two years ago, Cynthia - aka miss Mermaid. She winters here and has a unique older rig. Nice to visit with her for a while. When we arrived she was putting a donation bag together from products she reviews on line. She gets to keep the products but frequently gets things she cannot use. Nicky was the benefactor of one such item - a bright pink lighted dog coller. We got to try it out last night, works great. Thank you.
I have failed badly at all attempts to photograph all the little bunny rabbits running around here in the evening. Have also been watching for an interesting sunset to photograph, nothing yet.
I had reached the point of not being able to face another frozen dinner, sandwich, boiled egg or anything else in my little pantry. To my delight was able to find a place that delivers to the campground. Ordered eggplant parmesan which arrived pipping hot within an hour. Very good and much larger portion than I expected especially since it also included a salad and box of garlic knots. I've already had two meals from it and have enough for another one. Only ate one of the garlic knots and gave the remainder to Cynthia as a thank you for Nicky's gift.

I too, am getting anxious for spring and summer and get out camping and kayaking! I ordered a sweatshirt last night that says "I don't need therapy, I just need to go camping!"

Cool and cloudy here today. Had some snow flurries this morning. We are on a warm up tho into the 50's by the weekend and all the way thru the week to the following weekend! Yay! Not much snow left around here other than a few snowbanks here and there. Even saw an eagle last week!

Frosted my hair last night and looks really blonde, but missed a small spot on one side, so trying to decide if it is worth buying another frosting kit to fix it or just leave it. Not really too noticeable. Ordered new glasses last week too, so should be getting those in a few days. Zenni Optical is so cheap! Love their glasses too! Paid less than $50 for these and that includes the super anti-glare lenses and clip on sun shades.

Am home on a split today. Just ordered lunch on the way home at the drive-in diner down the street. Very good food! We have no fast food restaurants around here so it is nice to have that open again to stop and pick up lunch!

I need to do a lot of housecleaning and organizing around here! Gotta get on that!

Ava, I hope you have a wonderful trip! You sound so excited!

Hope you all have a great day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Glad to hear Spring is coming to the northern states!

I got ambitious this morning and changed my bed linens and towels, in preparation for doing laundry today. Got everything ready and in big bags. Also decided to stop at Walmart for a few groceries. Well, I have not been out at all in the more than a week I have been sick, other than to walk 200 feet to take out garbage, so by the time I got done walking through Walmart and waiting in line to check out, I was shaky and sweating, even though it was not that hot.

So I ditched the laundry idea. I have enough stuff for a few more days. I thought I was doing much better, but obviously not, so I still need to rest. Good thing I have TV and work on my computer to do, as I can do all of that in my comfy recliner. Managed to get back to campground, set up, and put out awning for shade. Got the AC working and feeling better now. I have to drive north to Catalina State park tomorrow, and I will stop at a mission on the way, but I think that will be enough physical effort for tomorrow.

I got some lemons, so I am going to make up some iced tea from scratch and have some orange juice right now. Need to force myself to keep drinking stuff because I think I am still dehydrated. And I still have a substantial pain in my diaphragm from coughing that is slow to go away, so it hurts to roll over in bed. Even getting the flu shot this year, certainly did not deter this flu and bronchitis I have had!
