went to an RV show today first in a very long time many years in fact...unless you count Quartzsite even at that rarely went in one
might walk pass that was about it...
pretty much just looking did see a 5th wheel that I'd be willing to trade in mine on...until I was walking pass it and noticed that the rear window was
pretty small then went back and and looked couldn't remember seeing it realized that the tv covered the window...now why???
another thing I noticed was the lack of carpet...good move for sure although they did (most of them in fact) had carpet under the slides..
Linda (Bikerchic) has replaced her carpet with peel and put type of squares...looks from the picture like real hard wood..
did find a couple of motor homes that I'd be interested in
and there is a couple out there called retro...some of you might like them

I'm debating whether or not I want to go someplace out of state this summer or stay here in MI for the time being. Had two big trips last year so funds are a bit depleted. One of the places I thought I might go was out to Gettysburg, but there is a lot to see if one wants to chase the Civil Way sites a bit. Other issue is, trying to pick out a route from way up here in northern MI to get way down there. I want to avoid the turnpikes and also the major cities. There are roads going in all directions, through OH and PA but nothing really direct without winding all over the place to do it. Maybe the brain is saying I should stay home this year or wait till fall and see if something pops up someplace as far as GTG's are concerned. I already have reservations for July and Aug. here in MI. Looking for something for June. Decisions, decisions. I know I will be going back to Shipshewana sometime this year as I want to get some more cheese and meats for the freezer.

This is why the turnpike or Interstates are actually a good deal going through PA. When it comes to states like PA and the North East wandering the backroads can be full of surprises with a trailer in tow. When in the mountains, roads wind around with low overpasses. Areas that were settled later like out west tend to have better roads for going through the mountains. Also the maximum grade is limited on the interstate which is not always the case on secondary roads. Truckers maps list low clearances. Not sure how tall you trailer is but with mine, I basically stick to approved truck routes to be on the safe side.

I agree with you Melissa. Trouble is the darn turnpikes cost a small fortune by the time you get from point A to B. I give myself an 12 ft. Clearance for my trailer as only things high on top at the Max Air vent covers. it will clear at 11,but better safe than sorry. I can take I-80 over in PA but getting there from MI border across OH needs some figuring. 3, The Lincoln Highway looks good for most part to, but getting around Pittsburgh a pain.

Made it to Patagonia Lake, AZ, after a 225 miles drive. I am still feeling absolutely lousy, and have gotten about two hours of sleep each night for the last four nights. Taking tons of medication, but does not help much at night. This is the first time even my back and torso muscles are sore from coughing. Also, I had to stop and pick up some panti-liners at the drug store for obvious reasons due to coughing!!

Sore throat is better, but cough is still bad. If not better in a couple of days, I am going to find another urgent care center.

Judy, I suggest a teaspoon of honey before bed, and if you're coughing in the morning, one then also.

I am back in Ohio, trying to keep warm and running errands before starting back to work next Wednesday. Josef and I drove up to Columbus area so he could see his first Mamma, and co-owner, Cindy, and show her what a big boy he is. He and Audrey are planning on entering the Louisville Dog Shows at least on Saturday and Sunday. That work thing keeps us to only two days. It is difficult to earn money and spend it at the same time.

And another camera of mine has been misplaced. Surprise, Surprise..... Somewhere between Charlotte, NC and here.... Not that anyone will believe me but I had taken pictures of the Ziplines and the ropes course that my daughter talked me into going on. The ziplines are fun. The ropes course was another story. I reminded her that I was not on Amazing Race and there was no million dollar reward for completing the course. It is nice to have a daughter with so much faith in her mother's abilities..... I survived but, alas, will not have any pictures to show.

Kate complained that I wasn't smiling in the pictures she took of me. I was concentrating on survival. Yes, I know that the harness would keep me from getting hurt but I could only imagine the bruising my body and pride would have taken had I needed rescuing.

I'm a honey cinnamon fan also. I make a hot drink most mornings from water, lemon, honey and cinnamon. I swear by it when everyone around me is getting sick.

I want to see the photos too, Tina! Sounds like lots of fun.

I had a grand time at the orchid show yesterday. They're such beautiful flowers and have such astonishing variety. There was an associated plant sale -- and I didn't buy anything! I am so strong-willed! I did take a look at the Cypripediums, which are supposedly hardy in our zone 5 winters. I'm planting ferns in the shaded corner of the yard this spring, and if they do well, I might add some orchids next year. I love the idea of an orchid that can take care of itself!

Must wait for the camera to come back to Ohio. It wanted to stay in Charlotte a little longer in the back of Lucas' car..... That was one of my choices of best places to look after unloading the rig this week.

if they will again or not...
