It's Saturday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It's Saturday!

Postby Othersharon » Sat Feb 27, 2016 9:58 am

Good morning! Looks like everyone is sleeping in this morning! For some reason I was up early, week end doesn't much matter to me! Retirement does that to me , I guess! Looks like a nice week end here with something moving in mid week. At least this late in the winter the snow usually doesn't hang around long! Days are definately getting longer, clocks change in a couple of weeks!

Nothing much happening around here. Decided not to go to the rv show in Harrisburg but will probably hit the one today in Altoona.

Donna, saw yesterday that your house here in PA finally is all taken care of! Congrats! Does that mean you won't be coming back up here now? Glad I got to see you last summer! A new adventure for this summer for you! Sue, glad your pups are back to normal! It is sure hard to keep one dog quiet when you have more then one! Liz, love your photos of your travels! And just think I lived out there and never got to see all the things you're seeing. Of course, that could have something to do with how young I was! Had to go where the parents went! Ava, countdown to a couple weeks off and an exciting trip!

Well, time to get started here and since the coffee is done guess I should stop procrastinating and get my day going! Have a good day, stay healthy and travel safe.

Good Morning,

Donna, excited for you that house deal is done - I remember the feeling! Ava, countdowns to great times ahead! Sue, catalog ripping up? You have no worries that this will lead to tearing up something that shouldn't be? You obviously have more patience that I do. :) Liz continues to find great places to explore! I think I'd have tagged along longer if I didn't have all these maintenance issues to take care of plus cleaning out storage. Hardee Lake gals had another nasty weather warning, but so glad it didn't turn into anything serious.

2nd cousin, hubby, son (30) and girlfriend made a stopover here Thursday night. Dinner out and cards was fun. The GF has a Yorkie that is adorable.

Trailer is to be fixed Tuesday - a little anxiety over it. Ordered floor mats and a taller windshield for the SS - those who have ridden would probably appreciate the taller windshield. So far I have only have 2 negatives about my going across country - an aunt and the cousin who was just here. Maybe others are just not telling me I'm crazy! :)

I'm still desert riding most everyday. Told L to stop the other day and then said, 'No, that's a rock' but it was a smaller tortoise.

Hoping you all have a great day/weekend and safe travels.

Yesterday was a long day. I went to a funeral that was about 30 miles NE of Alexandria with a friend. Another friend's father had passed away. I didn't get home until 8:30. I was sure stiff after all that riding.

I don't know what I'll do today. It's a nice, cool, sunny day. It looks like the wind has calmed down some. Don't you know we are suppose to have another storm coming through on Tuesday. I might ride over to see what the Louisiana Belles that are camping are up to if I can ever get moving.

Good cold morning; got down to 38 here last night. Definitely something wrong when it is that cold in south central FL this time of year.
Guess the extended Hardee Lakes gtg is officially over as I am the last one here. Carol ad Brenda left yesterday and Soos pulled out this morning. I will be heading over to Melbourn tomorrow. Might see if I can start something else over there - at least I know Donna will come by to visit now and then and Soos is planning at least a day visit as she has some other business in Melbourn next week.
I'm hoping for warmer weather and looks like it might happen. Getting tired of living in sweat suits plus need some sun exposure to get my vit. D up.
Have a good day. I need to do some cleaning in Magic today.

Yes, I’m still alive. I don’t want to bore you to death with all the mundane details of my life so I usually just read and not post! We’re having some very nice weather and it’s supposed to be in the mid 60’s today. We can hope for and early Spring but we are all holding our breath for the March snowstorms that inevitably come every year.

While my retirement hasn’t been full of excitement I am enjoying it. I pick up Bronc from daycare every Tuesday and Thursday and have him from about 4:30 to 7. Ashley has taken a job cleaning a business after school and is using the money to get her college loans paid off. She’s pretty excited that she has it whittled down to $4,000. Since she is teaching in a low-income district some of her loan amounts are forgiven every year also. She is on cloud nine because next year she was given a position in a regular classroom rather than in SPED. The burnout on SPED teachers is high. She’s been bitten, kicked and given a black eye and she has lower elementary age students.

Yesterday I went with Missy to start getting the greenhouse in Mitchell ready. We took up a van load of cardboard flats that the bar saves for her that are used for customer sales. Saves Missy a lot because she doesn’t have to purchase them. Then we headed to Sioux Falls to a wholesaler and picked up a partial order of pots and other supplies, back to the greenhouse to unload those, tag them and get them on the shelves. Sounds like next week we’ll be doing it again. Martha, I can sympathize with you on the riding too long in one day. I was so stiff when we came home!

Didn’t end up working at the flower shop over Valentine’s Day. Both of Carol’s parents have failing health and she needs to help them a lot. Plus the flower shop in a neighboring town closed and she is getting all the business from the area they serviced and the funeral homes. She hired a full time designer after the first of the year. So she was covered help wise.

Wednesday my 96 year old mom had to have teeth pulled, so my sister and I took her to the oral surgeon. She was still pretty loopy when we got her back to the nursing home but when I talked to my sister the next day she was doing fine.

Bronc’s second birthday is Tuesday. Where did that time go? Grandma needs to buy a potty chair because the training process is going to start on all fronts. Sometimes I think that little devil has it out for me. When I pick him up the daycare provider laughs and says he must know that you were going to get him because he hasn’t pooped yet today! Sure enough we get home and he does his business.

I’d better get my grocery list made and get to post office since I didn’t do either yesterday! Hope this finds everyone happy and healthy.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Just barely afternoon here. Slept in late again. Not sure why I am so tired lately. Or maybe just lack of motivation.

Sarah, we barely got down to 38* last night way up here in Minnesota! You gals ARE cold down there, for this time of year! We will get close to 60* today with sunshine! Need to get outside a bit today!
Our apartment complex is having a potluck tonight here, so I need to pick something up to bring for that. I usually bring a dessert thing. Also do a white elephant gift exchange, so will figure that out too.

Hope you all have a fun weekend! :D

Record breakng 70's here in northern California ! It's nice but we sure need more rain. My friend Brenda Berry, a member here will find out shortly whether her new to her Roadtrek made it through the tornado in Florida. She just got there to her Moms house after harrowing air travel with mechanical delays and horrid hotel stay.
Gotta get out of here to pick up RX soon for son and pick up few groceries. With flu rampant in California and 9 other nearby states, I am not inclined to stay out among crowds.
Have a good weekend all.

Hate to say it, but it is 85 and sunny here! I just got back from my second urgent care visit in four days. The last few nights have been horrible--wheezing, coughing, sore back and stomach muscles from all the coughing, and hardly any sleep. Averaging maybe 2-3 hours per night for last several nights, so I am exhausted and aching and just plain miserable. Called the 24 hour insurance nurses line and nurse said I needed to find another urgent care center, but since I have moved campgrounds (drove 225 yesterday_, nothing is nearby, so this morning I got up and drive 60 miles to Green Valley, AZ.

PA gave me codeine cough syrup and a breathing treatment, and advice about all the over-the-counter stuff I have been taking. So I am back home and set up, and collapsed in my recliner, which is where I am staying for the next several days to rest up and recover!

Anita, I'm guessing the negatives are from people who would have been initially negative about you being a full-time rver! Probably part jealousy. I think it'll be an awesome trip.

I rode over to Butte LaRose to visit with the campers. There is a nice little campground that is only $10 a night but it's first come. I bet to get a site this time of year you would have to get there on Wednesday. All the sites back up to a bayou and there were people kayaking.

Pat, one of the local grocery stores saves the cardboard flats and sells them for Good Friday crawfish boils. I think they want $1.00 for 10 flats. It's hard to believe Bronc is already 2. I don't think my younger son would use the bathroom at school. You didn't want to get between him and the bathroom when he got off the bus. lol

Judy, I hope you are feeling better soon. Be careful and don't end up in the hospital.

Thanks, Martha. I am doing a little better. The doctor diagnosis was acute asthmatic exacerbation of acute bronchitis due to parainfluenza virus! I can't believe that after getting flu shots for 20 years, I ended up with the flu. I know they have been saying the shots for the last couple of years have not worked well for seniors, but I did get the stronger senior version.

The news down here says Arizona has the worst rate of flu in the country. Yuck.

I am not even planning on going outside for the next couple of days! Which reminds me, I have to get into bed to rest.
