Midweek Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Midweek Wednesday

Postby Colliemom » Wed Feb 17, 2016 7:12 am

Good Morning,

Middle of the week already. Day 6 of Piper's recuperation and this little one is hard to slow down. Right now she's busy ripping up some catalogs in here, Boredom setting in. We just need to get through the next 4 days and they can have their freedom. Molly has been playing with her in the house here, so that has helped.

O'Sharon, I've kind of been a bit of a slug too and keep telling myself it's time to get some stuff done although I'm pretty well caught up right now. Been working on the scrapbook from last year and now have all the pics from trip west mounted etc. Hobby Lobby has a big 50% sale on scrapboking stuff this week, so I can have a field day in there today. Like a kid in a toy store. Will get the album and other things I need to finish up. Want to have it all done by end of week.

Lots of cheery news yesterday, gals having fun at Hardee Lakes, O'Sharon cleaning up icy mess, maybe not so much fun, but Alice is the happiest one and I see a bright future ahead.

Going to get my day underway here, "payday" today :D Shopping list made out, so you know what I will be doing. Have a great day all.

maybe not so much fun

Good Morning!

Enjoying the photos and reports from Hardee Lake! Sue, I'm sure the scrapbooking is great fun tho I could never quite get into it - probably because I was overwhelmed with trying to be creative. Hope we'll get to see photos of at least a few pages. Alice, keep on smiling!

I had an invitation to ride one of my favorite trails yesterday with LeRoy (strictly platonic on my part and he isn't pushing). Usually it is experienced drivers with proper machines, but yesterday we had an extended family with various ages, driving skills and machines. Made for an interesting day when they didn't have 4-wheel drive on some machines - always good for loose rock climbs, boulder climbs, etc. One young man really got in some bad situations so it was a bit frightening, but no one would listen that one machine in particular wasn't made for that trail.

My FitBit arrived yesterday. I had started walking in the desert thinking snakes weren't out yet - wrong! They killed a sidewinder and a rattler just down the road the other day.

Today I'm off to Yuma in the SS with friends in their SS. Weather is gorgeous for riding! Tomorrow will be back to chores.

Make the best of the day and safe travels!!

Anita, I don't like the pictures of where some people go on ATVs. I fell out with a good friend because he wouldn't listen and got us in a bind and almost turned over. I was single and on my own with my son. There wasn't someone that was going to step in and take care of us if I got hurt.

I never could get into scrapbooking either. I'm doing good to get pictures into an album with pockets that all you have to do is slide a picture in. I still haven't labeled the pictures in my old family album. There are only 4 of us cousins left that would know who the people are in the pictures.

I went to Walmart yesterday so no plans for today. I got an email from Garmin that said it was time to change the batteries in my Vivofit but I can't find the batteries in Abbeville. Best Buy probably has them but I'm not driving to Lafayette just to look for batteries.

It's a little cool today but the rest of the week is suppose to be in the 70's and no rain until next Monday.

Good morning, all! We were up bright and early to be ready when the painter showed up at 8:00 AM. NOT our usual start to the day now that we're retired. But, all our prep work over the past few days paid off, as he was able to get right to work. Three days of disarray and upheaval, then a week to get all the first floor furniture out to the garage for the floor refinisher. We have a college kid coming next weekend to help with the heavy lifting for some pocket money, beer & pizza. Still wondering how to deal with the piano: I'm sure 3 days in a garage in February/March won't do it any good, and we don't seem to have any takers for it, even for free!
All this to prepare house for sale to move to smaller digs, buy our RV, and hit the road.
Be safe, all of you on the road, and I'm watching the Hardee Lakes GTG with interest. Chicago RV show with Cheryl on Friday.

Just under the noon wire here! Slept in this morning and heading to work this afternoon.

Was sunny this morning but clouding up now. Only in the 20's today but supposed to hit 50* by Friday!! :o Yay!

Am feeling lazy and unmotivated lately. Yesterday I brought my car into my mechanic shop since my friend Steve never showed up to look at my car. Cost me $275 to get it fixed and hopefully no more issues for awhile! Keep thinking about what I would have rather spent that money on...plane ticket to California, new couch, pay off another bill, etc.... Grrr!!!

Have been growing my hair out all winter but decided to go back to my stacked bob again. It just wasn't looking good no matter what I did with it, and the bob is easy to take care of and looks good on me. Just need to accept the fact that I will never have long hair again. Need to frost it again too. Am seeing gray hairs again!

Glad the weather is good again for the GTG in FL! Makes it so much more fun when you all can get out and active! I can't wait til I can get my kayak on the water again. Two more months to go!

The autobiography is slow-going. Brings up a lot of emotions, especially about the adoption, so I have to put it down for awhile until I feel like tackling it again. Probably need to start writing about fun things for awhile.

Ava is in love!!! Enjoy and have fun! You deserve it!

Eileen, maybe you could donate the piano to a school or church? Or post it on Craigs List?

Hope you all have a good day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good afternoon ladies. Just dropped in here to let you know I've added a tiny update to the Hardee Lakes adventures under the gtg section.
After a totally socked in morning of dense fog, today has been a prefect weather day, even the wind has slowed down.

I know I am late, but I have changed campgrounds, stopped for some warm bagels, and been to an RV repair place to order day-night roller shades. Yes, I know I am supposed to be trying to save money, and have been pretty successful--no meals out, cheaper campgrounds, etc. But I have had broken cords on almost all the cheap, cheap, cheap blinds on this motorhome. I decided a year ago to replace them with good stuff, NOT the junk Fleetwood sells. (They tried to sell me replacement shades in October when I was in the factory customer service. No way.)

So, I ordered MCD dual roller shades for all four of my windows that take a shade! Cost with installation is going to be a lot on top of all the unplanned maintenance stuff I spent money on in January, so I am going to have to go on a super-austerity budget for the next few months. The good news is that almost all of my camping for February, March, April, and May is already paid for, as are the two weeks I am camping with my California kid and family in July. AND, I have cut down on my groceries for this past month, also, and had only one restaurant or fast food meal. Thankfully, gas is really cheap these days.

It is really hot here today, but temps in Phoenix area are going down to 82 tomorrow, so I will get out and do some bike riding. Too hot to do anything today other than huddle inside with AC.

Oh Judy, you are going to so LOVE those shades. Every time you pull them down, you will surely smile and say ooohhhh bless me! They are great for helping with the heat too. The night shades are black outs. I love that in parks that have to have night lights! I am excited for you!! Oooohhhh bless you :D

It has been in the mid 90's here in the RGV of the Texas Valley and I am loving it!

Birdie, I have hated the shades I have since I got this rig four years ago! The strings keep breaking, which means they do not pull up well, plus they are so loose they flap and rattle while I drive. And they have a fabric covering that does nothing but collect dust which cannot be wiped or vacuumed off easily. Would like to strangle person who designed them.

I get migraine headaches about once or twice a week and having to put the shades all the way down is a pain. With the new ones, I can make it a little darker inside while I work and still see outside.

I will probably just toss these in the trash, but I would really like to drive back and forth over them as a fitting farewell.

Being from Michigan, heat and I do not get along well. It was 87 today, but only supposed to be 81 tomorrow. That is better but I really like mid-70s.

I too got sick and tired of having to pay someone to restring those damn shades. I bit the bullet and got my whole rig fitted with the MCD's ( 8 shades....set me back a pretty penny.) I still have the curtains on the front but I like those so I am good with them for now. This year I looked around for a smaller rig thinking I might downsize BUT after looking and pricing decided I better keep what I have and do some upgrades. I bought new tires, remote control fantastic fan, new Traveler satellite dish (I hated the Kingdome) and 2 new flat screen tv's. Was still cheaper than buying a different rig LOL (I tell myself this).

Karen, what model is your Voyage? I was curious and looked last night on Google and found the brochure.
Good for you updating instead of taking on new with their bigger payments and stuff that always needs fixing on new these days.
