Freezing Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Freezing Friday

Postby Colliemom » Fri Feb 12, 2016 6:22 am

Morning from the frigid 45th,

Been up since a bit after 5 here this morning as woke up and can't go back to sleep. Breezy, snowy, cold this morning. Good day to stay in,but must venture out as will go pick up Miss Piper sometime today. She had her surgery yesterday and is doing fine they said. So it's home for rest and recuperation now. HA! Try to tell that to a 6 month old pup

Alice you are just bursting with happiness, I can feel it. So happy for you. Seems to be a lot of positive energy out there yesterday. Suppose there's a bit of spring fever going around. Been kind of quiet on here of late, so guess winter blahs are also setting in and most of you are in the "same ol" mode.

Liz and gals are really having fun down in AZ and Hardee Lakes GTG starts today. Looking forward to hearing about it. Anita, seems you are moving right along in storage place. Irma, sorry about the windshield. Hope your insurance company comes around. A branch is a branch whether dead or not. Donna, do you have to go back to PA to get anything from your house? So happy it's out of your way.

Enough jabbering here. Have a good day all.

Good morning
Still on the cool side for FL but will be warming nicely later today and for the weekend. Best of all the brutal wind has subsided. Good thing as it is moving day for me again - on to Hardee Lakes today.

Good morning ladies.

Had another great day yesterday. Tina and I went kayaking on Liz's Silver River. What a beautiful spot and I managed to stay out for 2hrs. Arms were sore last night but nothing a little Ibuprofen couldn't resolve. I even managed to get in and out without dunking myself.

Today promises to be another beautiful one here in McIntosh. I am taking a page from Anita's book and cleaning out clutter in the 5er. It seems that no matter how much space I have, I fill it. :o

I will bring stuff to Hardee Lakes in case anyone wants it, if not then I'll donate it on my way north later this month.

Safe travels to all. Brenda

Brenda jumped in moments ahead of me. Good to know that her shoulders are not holding me responsible for yesterday and it will be safe to go on more adventures today..... :)

Brenda and I have been staying warm and enjoying the sunshine when we can here in McIntosh. When my new month of data starts tomorrow I may think about posting some pictures because though there is WIFI here in the park it is unpredictable and slower than my Verizon so harder on my patience.

Yesterday Brenda got introduced to Liz's Silver River. That top loop is just long enough for kayakers that haven't kayaked much. It also is the best introduction to the wonders that can be found floating and paddling here in Florida. :)

Had another nice afternoon visit with Steve and Irmi and today is up for a paddle here on Orange Lake and/or laundry..... But first there are dogs that must get their "steps" in.....off for leashes. Audrey is just happy to be back in the walks with the group. She was walking solo or with just Remi there for awhile as she went though her "heat" cycle.....

Aw, now I'm missing my Silver River fix. Glad you and Brenda are enjoying it. Next year for me. But I do have some paddling opportunities coming up soon here in Arizona.
Thistle and I are off for a walk too.

Good Morning,

I woke at 4 again this morning for no reason. Instead of staying bed with the mind whirling I got up, had coffee, went back to bed at 6 and watched a couple recorded programs! Tomorrow morning I have to be up early and will not doubt be sound asleep when the alarm goes off!

More progress with organizing yesterday. Got a 40 minute walk in, but I waited too close to sundown to do it. I have been using Pacer app on my phone, but after comparing with Liz's Fitbit, I don't think it is too accurate. Fitbit has been ordered.

Tomorrow will be 2 hour ride to Lake Havasu for SS repair - suppose to be there between 9 and 9:30.

So good to read what everyone is doing! And another Hardee Lakes GTG coming up! I'm looking forward to visiting McIntosh this winter. Sue, I'm sure you will be glad to have Piper home. Lyn, sorry you are having to wait so long for the surgery.

Main chore today is wash and 'wax' the SS. Probably a nap later.

Make the most of this day and safe travels!

Anita, talking about washing and waxing the ss - my rv needs a bath and wax desperately. Planned to at least go through a Blue Beacon on the way here, but didn't happen. The desert winds are not helping! I'm still considering that dry wash that Sandi uses - just hate spending all the money on it, but their is an area of my rig that looks terrible - don't know why. Might end up having to have it looked at, too new for that!

Absolutely gorgeous weather here in AZ - but I think our cool nights would be downright cold to you Floridians. I love them. Great sleeping weather - then the sunny days are just perfect right now. (I say as I sit with my sweatshirt on inside the office - don't want to turn the heat on, and it takes a bit for the sun to bring the warmth inside).

Have fun at the gtg's, on the road, where ever you are.

Cold, windy and sunny here. Barely above zero :( .

Went to the Camping & RV show yesterday with the guy who fixed my popup last summer. Looked at lots of rigs and trailers. Didn't like how dark the wood is in most of them now. Too dark inside for me. He was impressed with how much i know about campers and the detailed questions i was asking the sales people. I guess i have learned a lot on here from all you gals!

Heading back home on my split now for the afternoon.

Have a good day :D

Not freezing here! We have been having at or above record temps this past week. Should be in 60's but instead in 70's! Mostly sun shine with passing clouds. Nice, but we need more rain and snow in the mountains. Been a Dr appointment week for all but me, but I'm still the duty driver! Seems all plans here are scheduled around medical stuff. Would rather go camping. Am planning to get new shoes on the van soon then take it to get generator fixed. Then maybe we can do some spur of the moment close outings. Am trying to motivate myself to declutter as so many of you are such good examples of getting that done. Good news on kitty, at just turned 11, her blood work came back perfect so she is good to go for teeth cleaning on March 1. I hope she appreciates me getting up at o dark thirty to take her to her dental appt.
Have a good weekend all. Paddle a river for me!

The Wash Wax All is not that expensive considering the number of times you can clean and protect your rig as opposed to what you'd spend a number of times at Blue Beacon. And you can clean your rig anywhere because no water is involved. If you look at that pic I posted of my rig with my new toad, the rig looks great. The day before I used the Wash Wax All and cleaned it in 45 minutes eliminating all the dirt from my previous 5-week trip to AZ. I've had a hard time convincing people here how nice the system is. The initial expense might seem a little high if you get the mop head and handle. However, if you don't get it, anything else you use to apply and dry the Wash Wax All would be way more work and take longer. In 4 years, I have paid only once to have my rig washed and that was just after I got it and before I discovered the Wash Wax All system. It might sound like I have stock in the company, but I don't. I just know how easy it is and how much money I save not paying someone. Plus, I really like how it has UV protection for the paint job on my rig. OK, I'm done!

Ran a deep Norton antivirus scan yesterday, and it somehow erased all the logins from sites where I stay logged in, so I am having to look them up from my cheat sheet! Grrrr.

It was a long three days of driving to get here, so I was really worn out yesterday when I arrived. Feel better this morning. I posted earlier that Ophthalmologist said apparently no change, except maybe in one tiny area, so wants to check me again in June, but I am free to travel until then. :D

It is going to be a HOT week here in Phoenix. High today is supposed to be 88, which is about 10 degrees too hot for me. Today is almost the first time I have had to run AC this winter. It has been strange--I have been freezing out here in the southwest and in Napa this winter so far, and spent more time in jeans and long sleeves since I left Michigan to full-time! (And I hate wearing long pants and long sleeves, like the freedom of shorts and t-shirts much better.) Now I am worried about the heat. I do not do well in heat these days! At least I am parked so the sun will not shine on my refrigerator in the afternoon. That is one trick I did learn.

Today I do inside errands and get some work done, then tomorrow am going out to the Desert Botanical Gardens. Need to go there at least once every trip here.

Sandy, can you make a guesstimate of cost per use on your rig? It's about 24ft. right? Thanks.

Looks like I missed the morning. The online art class is finished. It was the first online class I've taken and I learned a lot about collage design and blog-based online courses. I'd rather be in a traditional classroom, but online is so much cheaper and more convenient. Nothing new going on here. Dogs are tails up and life is good.

I know, Sandi. It's just convincing myself to take the initial monetary leap. I also hate washing my rig, prefer paying, eek no, never prefer spending money lol. I'm just having to convince myself.
