The only way to preserve an entire field uncovered would be to build a building around it to keep out all the elements, etc. The footprints have degraded considerably in the short amount of time they've been exposed and they have been covering them every night. The first rain uncovered and they would have been gone.

I still think everything should be done to preserve it. If it takes a shelter over it then they should do it. Sorry, archaeology, history and geology are my loves. Maybe they should get in contact with one of the universities in Arizona for some suggestions and help.

The universities already are involved. I think you'd understand if you were there.

It sounds like they are so fragile there's no guarantee building would be able to keep them from disappearing ...it's like footprints in the sand as soon as the first tide comes in they're gone...

How exciting to get to see this. Sad they can't preserve it but at least they have this opportunity to study it!
