Insurance Confusion

When I originally bought the TT last year, I (minimally) looked into Good Sam Insurance, but went to my home owners insurance Company (Farmers) instead. Well the annual premium has come up and I'm debating again.

Looking for some 'what do you have' opinions for those that own a home and have an RV (TT specific would be nice). I took a quick look at Coach-Net and Good Sam today, and the initial coverage on those seem to cover the tow vehicle, but not necessarily the RV for damage, etc.

Obviously I get a discount on the truck and RV because they're bundled with the home insurance, wondering if I should switch and to what type of coverage.

All opinions welcome. Sorry if this is a duplicate of some other post, but a quick search of 'insurance' brought so many topics (64 pages on 1 thread), so thought I'd just start a new topic so any other newbies could learn also.

I have "damage" coverage attached to my autos.
It's really very inexpensive (I think like under $100 year).

My homeowner's offered roadside assistance for the trailer and car, but comparison shopping showed that, for me, Coach Net was the best bang for my buck. I've been very happy with the Coach Net service, and luckily, have never had to use the other coverage. Hopefully, never will!

I have State Farm insurance and I have my TT, truck and house all under one umbrella. They have been very good at settling the two claims on my trailer that I have had to file due to storm damage on my trip west and the little tree I bumped and broke my awning support bracket off with. Fast and efficient service. So I am staying with them even though I have thought about switching.

I carry Good Sam Roadside Assistance and like Mitch hope I never have to use it.

I have my TT under my policy with Liberty Mutual. I have a separate deductible for the TT and separate coverage. Cost was very minimal

are you full timing? when I canceled my insurance on the truck I asked if the rate on the trailer was the best they could
get and she said for full times...so guess if you full time there is a different charge???

Most insurance companies don't ask because they think it's recreational only. But if you do full time, you best ask, because you need an insurance company that will cover you. And you need slightly different coverage which those who cover it should realize.

Hi, Irish -

Our TT is insured through our tow vehicle - it's an addendum or "rider" to the insurance on our truck. We use CoachNet for roadside. CoachNet is $90 per year and the TT rider was very reasonable - I want to say it was less than $100 for the year.

I also do not full time (yet). Thanks for the information everyone. I have a weekend planned of looking at my current policy and checking out other for roadside assistance, etc (right after getting the taxes done ughh).
