Super Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Super Sunday

Postby carolb » Sun Feb 07, 2016 7:18 am

Gmorning all :)

Big day for those of you who enjoy football--or the commercials:) It's to be a beautiful day here in AZ, so I'll be outside today, although Alice offered her tv if I want to watch the game later. We had a great day trip yesterday--Canyon Lake, great burgers, & all of us to the dog park. Maggie did really well, too:)

Cheryl, I love the idea of Rabbits Roll Call! Hope it catches on:) I miss so many of our family who used to be here regularly. And I know I miss a lot by not being on fb. It's always nice to be with those of you who are so you keep me updated on our "awol"s.

Sounds like Mollie will be fine despite Lyme disease--good info from those of you who posted your experience/knowledge re Lyme.

I also like the "GTG photos" thread :)

Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Good morning ladies
Yes we did have a great day yesterday!
Today is supposed to hit 80, it will definitely feel
good after all this unusual cold weather we have had.
I'll be running the ac for sure.
Maggie isn't feeling well this morning, she's having an
issue with her teeth, it appears all her little front ones
are loose and I need to get her in and have those pulled.
She hasn't even got up yet, but she did get up once in
the night and threw up.
So, off to check on my little girl, get started on laundry
and other chores. No sign of kitty yet. Y'all have a great
day, be safe, be warm and be healthy!

Good morning! Sunny this morning and then several days of snow predicted. I went to BestBuy yesterday afternoon and took a MAC 101 class. I'm used to the iPad but some things on the laptop just confused me! I had several of the ah, that's how it works moments! Or rather that's where it's hiding! So I'm glad I went to it!

Carolb, you are up and at them early this morning! Glad you guys had a good day yesterday. Sue, I was sorry to see that you decided not to come this way this spring, was looking forward to meeting you and the pups. But understand completely, so much to see! I've said for a long time that I don't have to go far from home to see and do! Interesting that Molly tested positive for Lyme's. My vet quit selling Frontline too since she said it apparently isn't working for all that it's supposed to. And Alice is on the countdown to retirement! Yippee! Donna, signing the papers today! It'll be official and you have one less thing to worry about!

Martha, I'm with you....I figure I'm doing good too if I know what day it is! And sometimes I have to think about that! But the roll call is a good idea. Someone might want to start it out with an explanation as to why to say rabbits and how it came about! I imagine some of the newer members are wondering what it's all about!

I need to run to the hardware store today to pick up some washers for my bathroom sink that's dripping. Another one of those things I've watched but never did so we'll see how it goes! I can usually make a production of a little thing like this! Learning curve, I guess! Plus I want to put up some more plastic on the back porch. I didn't remember so much snow blowing onto the porch and didn't put any up earlier so today may be a good time to do it. So guess I'd better get a move on! Hope everyone has a great day and stay safe!

Good morning, everyone. You're right Martha, it was a quick trip. Lovely to see Birdie and Mary Jane even for a short time. Still tired today, didn't sleep well. Sounds like there's been some news about dogs and heartworm and fleas and tics? I hope everyone is on the mend. No football for me. I wouldn't even know it's Superbowl Sunday if I didn't read it here. I'm hooked on Blacklist on Netflix. Just noticed that I scraped up the eyebrow over the passenger door on branches. Need to research buffing it out. The most I'll do is take a can of spray paint to it. Betsy has become a DIY project. OK. I'm ready for my first nap of the day. Can't keep my eyes open even after drinking coffee.

Just ran into an article about some of the new finds/interpretations at Stonehenge. Makes me wish I could spend some volunteer time on one of the digs! There's just too much fun in the world.

I'm already tired of football today. Need to find something else even if it's just the weather channel. I only watch the Super Bowl for the commercials. One year I even recorded it to watch the commercials and fast forward through the game. I hope the people in the half time show can keep their clothes on. I don't know why so many actors and singers think we want to see them half naked. I'll never forget what my Grandpa said when we were watching a ballerina on TV when I was a kid. She doesn't have enough on to pad a crutch. There were some shows my Grandmother wouldn't let us watch, even Grandpa. And, this was in the 1950's. She would be horrified today. My Grandmother made most of our clothes when I was a kid. I think that's why I learned to sew. I was tired of being dressed like I was 60.

Sharon, good luck on the faucet repair. It seems like when I take something like that apart it doesn't want to go back together.

Yesterday it felt like a gumbo day so I made a big pot of Chicken & Sausage Gumbo. Froze some of it. When I went to the store they had crabmeat on sale so this morning I made a big pot of Corn & Crab Bisque. My favorite soup. Most of that will be frozen.

Harold was suppose to be starting the fire in the B-B-Q pit. He started it and now he's playing in the dirt with his tractor. I put more charcoal once but if he doesn't come back soon he can start over. I'm not really hungry after testing the soup so much.

Everyone have a good Sunday.

Good morning everyone!
Nice sunny warm day here in LA. I'm pet sitting at my son's house while they're spending a couple of days in the mountains for his birthday. I was going to go to the beach, but they have a nice sunny patio with birds singing so I'll probably just stay here all day. Sadie will be staying with them while I'm in KS for the next couple of weeks so this is perfect timing to let her get adjusted.

I'll probably be making a decision on my KS house while I'm there. My granddaughter & her hubby are living there right now & paying a little rent, but I kept the utilities in my name & they're killing me. They're young & have never been in a house before - my guess is they're using the gas fireplace alot & leaving the flue open afterwards. :o I've mentioned a few things to them to help out, but being there will be helpful to see what's going on.

I like the idea of folks popping in to let us know they're ok - wish we could send out reminders, 'cause I'll probably never remember to do it on a particular day either.

I love reading what's going on - new fur babies, travels, gtgs, countdown to retirements. :D Chicken & sausage gumbo sounds delicious, Martha!
Still think this is the greatest group of women ever!!! I know I sound like a broken record, but I look forward to the day when I can get out there more.
Stay safe!

Sunny and warming up today. Parked in my son's driveway for a couple more nights, then heading to Phoenix if the eye doctor gives me a clean bill of health.

Kids are having a big Super Bowl party today with two other couples and a couple more kids. I, however, am not a sports person, so will stay in my RV watching other TV and doing work. Can't wash my RV because of the drought, so will have to wait until I get to another state.

By the way, we are all in big trouble. The first question they ask in the hospital is what day is it? We will all flunk and be identified as over the hill and not too competent!! I go online every morning to check this blog so I know the day.

Laughing at you running to get on line to see what day it is, Judy. As I go out for the paper each morning I recite what day and date I think it is and then double check the paper to see if I'm right! I'll try to remember if I have to go to the hospital to answer "today" when they ask me what day it is.

Morning. Chilly here 37 this morning and some fog but NO wind. Going to be 61 and sunny today so I am happy. Going to continue my "clean out the storage shed" quest this morning. I am on a Project Quest. 20 projects in 30 days. So far so good Some are small projects others a bit bigger.

After many friends recommendations I ordered the NuWave oven, we shall see how it works for me. I am going to try to lose 10lbs and by doing that I need to eat a little more meat (not a big fan) and fish (I love) and veggies. Seems easier and quick with this so we shall see. I have a George Foreman grill but usually just end up pan frying my meat don't know why. I will go to the grocery store tomorrow in preparation of good healthy meals!!!!

What a glorious day in Northern Calfornia for the Super Bowl. It's being held in Santa Clara about 30 miles from my home. Glad I'm here and not there with the crowd. It's currently 79 degrees on my front deck and will be even warmer by game time.

Worked all day and got home a little while ago. Got home just when the cold front came thru with a vengeance! The winds just about blew me right off my feet and blew the front door of the apartment door right into me! Ouch! Was starting to sleet too. We are only supposed to get a few inches of snow here but the winds will be over 40 mph so will blow it all over the place. Blizzard warnings west of here.

Am watching the SB by myself tonight. Go Broncos!!

Sophie is such a crazy, weird kitten! She can be a holy terror, knocking pictures off the walls, pushing everything off the counters, chewing on wires  , climbing the window screens, and now she climbs on my head, chewing and pulling on my hair and biting my ears! What a nut! :o Good thing she calms down and gets all sweet and cuddly after awhile!

Am sure looking forward to spring and summer with camping and kayaking plans! I am also looking to possibly leasing a horse to ride this summer. I miss riding but only want to ride for fun now, rather than competing like I used to do. Too old for that! Will see if I can find a reasonable lease price on a local horse. Have been talking to clients with horses to put the word out. Might do that instead of playing on my golf league. Kind of tired of the league and the uppity women there.

Hope you all have a good rest of the day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
