Cold Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cold Saturday

Postby Othersharon » Sat Jan 30, 2016 9:04 am

Good morning! Yes, no surprise, it's really cold out there this morning! But no snow today so that's good! I had a fun day with the grandson yesterday! But I was brain dead by the time I took him back to his dad! We had an ongoing conversation about the truck and what he thought his dad should do about it! Let's see, we discussed the merits of diesel vs gas, tire size, and how older trucks were built better then new ones! I swear he can argue with himself! I whispered to his dad that he really needs to decide what to do soon so his son can settle this in his head! I stayed noncommital during these conversations! That little brain is always thinking!

When we were at the chriropractor I mentioned your trip, Sue, and said that we may have a gtg with some of the gals from the forum. She said to keep her informed about it because it sounded like fun and she and her mom might enjoy it! And Peggy chimed in too, I see!

I just read Anita's post about her and Liz's adventure! That could have been scary! Guess that comes under the heading of lesson learned!

Well, not much happening here today. I think I'll run the car through the carwash today and get all the yucky stuff off it. At least it'll stay clean for a day or two, until the next round of snow! You all have a good day and stay safe!

A quick good morning. Nicky and I got ride to local campground around 8 last night and spent night in Magic. Will start making our way south in just a little while. I'm moving very slow this AM.

Morning I am up early. Need to go get a few groceries and drop some stuff off at the Salvation Army. My mission is to clean out something each day. Also need to take some stuff over to the Motorhome that belongs in there. Got a boo boo on my car a while ago, thought I might just pay for it myself but the damn boo boo is $2800 so turned it in to my insurance and have an appt on Tuesday to get it fixed. Glad I have rental car insurance. OK off to the shower.

Good morning gals
A day of (sort of) rest for me today. Do need to run to bank to deposit a business check but that's about all. I WILL work on cleaning this house!!!! It's been hanging fire for way too long.
Got my new eyeglasses day before yesterday and while I like them (finally!) they need adjusting. I don't feel up to going to the store where I got them to get them worked on today so I guess that will be put off til Monday or whenever I can fit it in. They shipped the glasses to my house which was a surprise to me. I figured they'd just call when they came in and I'd go pick them up. Not sure what the advantage is to them shipping the glasses directly.
Anita, you and Liz had better be a bit more careful! That was a scary story!
Sarah good journey on your way.
O'sharon, it's funny what kids think about. Sounds like your gs is a deep thinker.
Karen that's too bad about your car. What we think might be just a little damage often turns out to be much more expensive than we think!
That's all from here, everyone take care,
Kathy

Good Morning,

Another beautiful day but winds are on the way for tomorrow and Sunday. Liz and I have extended our stay until Wednesday. The town of Ajo has things happening next weekend so we will check that out. I have an appointment the 13th to have warranty work done in Havasu on the SS. This morning I have decided to just bite the bullet and get new batteries. More $$$$.

Liz and I both agreed that if we had known of the border activities yesterday, we wouldn't have gone. However, unless the bad guy was unfamiliar with the area, I don't think they would have come that way.

Karen, sorry about the boo boo. I did that once and turned the $1600 into insurance - they raised my rates so I paid anyway! Sarah, so glad you are on your way south.

Carolb, looks like we aren't going to get our Dome Rock visit (or anymore at all this winter). Sorry I can't hang around here until you all get to Organ Pipe.

Sharon, some of these kids are maybe too on top of things these days!

Time to get ready to go hiking! Make the most of your day and enjoy!

Good morning, everyone. What scary adventure? I'll find the post. No mention of injury, so I guess everyone is ok. A beautiful morning here, sunny and dry. Anita, it's what Tina says, "money now or money later". It just never ends, does it. The few kids I know amaze me. They're so articulate. Sharon, how old is the grandson? Travel safe, Sarah. Kathy, I'm with you on the glasses. Seems easier to go to the shop, pick them up and have them adjusted in one go. But what do I know? Karen, sorry about car boo boo.

Almost caught up with assignments in the online art class. A couple hours today and I should be current. Next week is the last session of this class, and then I start another in two weeks. It'll be a bit more advanced. Just a bit.

Everyone travel safe.

Warm and sunny here today supposed to be near 60 for 3 days then drop 30 degrees  Yesterday must have been a bad day for automobiles! My friend took her very ill 16 year old dog to the vet. She decided she should take her old car as his issues were of the kind that an accident could occur any time. Her old car had a stick shift, new car is automatic. So she forgot, put the old car in neutral and forgot to set the emergency brake. Her car rolled into the vet techs brand new pick up truck. So she has this dog that is crying hysterically because he dislikes the vet, they had to wait for the sheriff ( she kept telling them it was a parking lot and they didn't need to call anyone)...pick up had a scratch, her car was not drive able. Her son brings her the new car, she heads home and on the highway her front tire exploded!!! She kept control of the car and no one was hurt but her nerves, which are totally shot!! Talk about a bad day.

I have half of the house vacuumed, the dogs fed, two sent theirs back to the kitchen. :) Too bad, kitchen is closed until dinner time!

Good Morning Everyone !! Back at my sisters, have appointment for service on the Rv Monday. Making a noise I don't like, usually doesn't make any noise really. So I'm hoping its not much or if so they have parts or whatever is needed, in other words, I am hoping its a fast fix, so I can get moving again :D Plus it will help if I don't have to leave much $$$$ there for the fix  I always think fuel for miles you know :D

We are having a sunny day so far, but think clouds will be moving in maybe sometime today. More rain coming I think, but it is what it is, can always find something fun to do. Back into my reading again, since getting my eyes fixed and really enjoying that. Seem to always have a book going now, loving it.

Sharon, sorry you have cold weather but where you live can't be helped, that gs's conversation, reminds me of many I have had with mine, I love it, but sometimes you really don't know what to say as parents need to come up with the info they are fishing for.

Kathy, you started out with going to have a day of rest then you're off into what you probably will do, didn't sound all that restful  :D

Glad you and Liz ended up safe in your adventures, Anita. Have missed quite a bit of news, just hoping all are well and doing what you want or as much of it as you can this time of the year. Sarah, have a great trip, enjoy and be safe !!!

CArol

BJ you posted before I did and oh wow, what a day your neighbor had, I feel sooooo bad for her and don't even know her, but could visualize her day as you told us, what an awful day So sorry for her, how is her little dog after all of this ??

Good morning, all.
So sorry I don't get on her more often - just when you think things should be slowing down, you get busier than ever.
Love seeing what evryone is doing - all the comings & goings keep me dreaming of being able to meet up with you all sometime.

DIL is on 'bonding leave' so I dont' have the baby each day, but I still spend long hours keeping up with work. :( I love certain aspects of it & am frustrated with others. I'm heading back to KS for a 2-week visit to the house & office in mid-Feb. I hope things become obvious to me as to what I should do - stay here or go back there. While housing costs are crazy out here, you can't beat a so Cal winter or being so close to my sweet baby grand. Decisions, decisions...

Glad to see Sarah is on the road. BJ, the story of your friend's car has made me wonder if I really need beachtime today or not. Anita & Liz, glad you two are safe - what a cool adventure though. Will have to go back & read up more on what's happening but better get moving for now.

Hope everyone stays safe & warm while having fun. :)
Take care,

Still in Willow Beach, near Hoover Dam, but will be leaving tomorrow for Boulder Campground. Going to try to cut down on my expenses since I have had so many maintenance costs this fall and winter. Yuck! Am even planning on spending three days in son's driveway next weekend since his trailer is now in storage.

I've been planning out my travels for 2016, and looking for COE and federal spots when I can. Now that I have a working water pump and a 12v extension cord, plus my converter is new and working better, it should be a lot easier for me to do.

Got my step sanded yesterday. Need to glue down the rough stuff, and then mask off area so I can spray paint it. Not as soon a job sanding as I could have done with power equipment, I just don't have power equipment with me. So it will have to do for a year or so. At least it will look better than it has with all the rust.

Good afternoon ladies! It is 40* and raining here in MN. Our January thaw!

Am at work now. Been crazy busy today so I finally got lunch at 3:00. Guess the warm weather brought everyone out of hybernation!

I decided to join a local 24 hour fitness center. I need to get in better shape and am hoping the exercise will give me more energy to get other stuff done. Just been feeling tired, lazy and unmotivated lately. Just gotta make sure i actually get there enough to make it worth while.

Have a great rest of the day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Drove from home to Florence, SC today. It was a long day but I am travelling without the trailer. Tomorrow I get to the traler, set it up so that I can travel to Florida on Monday. I will be at Sportsmans Cove until the 15th. Come on by for a glass of wine. :D Safe travels to all on the road. Brenda

Brenda, I am planning to head to McIntosh tomorrow after the show. I couldn't pass the chance to paddle Orange Lake and walk the dogs around town. I think Sarah may be there for a week. Irma is just down the street a few miles. Looking forward to meeting you again. :)
