One solid plan for Spring at Giant City SP. Have 1 weekend booked and still waiting to coordinate with a friend for a weekend ~ or maybe just us girls since he works a lot of Saturdays.

Hard to make summer plans since our busy time is May, June & July (plus that pain in the arse project), so will be concentrating more on a Fall trip (waiting to see if Sue is thinking of Midwest GTG again too.

No plans. I'm in research mode and that could extend into spring and summer.
Lots of work to do if I want the option of selling the house.
Too many choices.

Gettysburg sounds great to me and not too far away so can plan on the fly if weekend dates are involved.

I will go to Assateague Ntl Seashore as much as possible for weekend trips - I like it best during the first come first serve seasons (Nov 16-Mar 14). I have trouble reserving a spot since they fill up so fast. They just raised the camping rate - still worth it for me at $30 a night but better for my parents who get a site for $15 with their Fed Park Pass (Golden Age I think?). I think its pricey for no hookups but it is my favorite place to be....They also charge admission now, which they did not used to do for campers, but I have the Fed Park Pass and don't have to pay that. I took my mom in Dec when it was so warm here and it was delightful. We sat on the beach in our t-shirts IN DECEMBER!!!

I am flying to Lake Mead in March, where hubby will be training for a week. I am not sure of dates yet. If anyone has any travel tips for the area, I would love some info! Really excited. Will be on my own during the day but not sure I will have a car every day. Hoover Dam for sure and I told hubby I wanted to take a helicopter ride if we don't bust the budget (just had two huge car repair bills that may cancel my fun)

Love reading about all the plans!

I have a Spring plan! I've been wanting to see Yosemite and know it books up fast, so decided to go online and see if anything was available. I was lucky to get a reservation for 5 nights starting April 17th. There were a few other sites available for 4 days that week if anyone wants to join me.

Cheryl, I would love a Fall GTG someplace.. Have thought about maybe WI but I'm sure there are places in Midwest that some would like to go see that haven't been to before. Need some ideas out there gals. Back to Shipsey?

Am also looking at possibly going to far western end of U.P. to Lake Gogebic SP or maybe to J.W. Wells SP which is down toward Green Bay area in MI. Not sure just when as yet.

Right now I am planning a trip to the Amana Colonies end of April(ish). Also want to check out the campground near Galena with thoughts of a possible GTG there in Fall. If all else fails, I will be camping weekends at my club with DH.
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Thanks for the ideas Sue. Not sure I'd so Shipsey again soon, I have too much to see! Maybe another time. I'm going to check out Lake Gogebic SP and J.W. Wells SP for a fall trip.

I love visiting Galena, but have never done so in the rv. I'll love hearing what you find. If you made a trip there around Halloween, they have great hayrides.

Cheryl, there's a lot to do around the western UP.. I see Lake Gogebic as a base and went waterfall hunting along the Black River over toward Ironwood area, then drove up and did same at Porcupine Mts. It's a very remote area on the far western U.P., but beautiful. There are some really neat sites right on the lake and they tell me this park never fils up. By fall it is probably pretty quiet other than fishermen. J.W. Wells is another one I have not been to. Hence the thought of staying there once. There is also a beautiful state park in WI, just north of LaCrosse, begging a visit. Up on the Mississipi River bluffs.

Cheryl, here's a post I did last year I think it was, on the Keweenaw Peninsula. Might be a bit farther than you want to drive maybe, but good change to spread your wings out a bit more.

I now have the following dates definitely lined up. July 11-14th, Wilderness State Park, Mackinac City, MI. July 31, Indian Lake State Park, Manistique, MI in the Upper Peninsula, August 1-5th, McLain State Park, Hancock, MI, in the U.P. and August 5-8th, Van Riper State Park, Champion, MI in the U.P. Anybody want to come join me, you are more than welcome but get your reservations in ASAP.

Will be making more as I decide which parks I want to go to for a few days at a time.

Keep planning Sue - I'm keeping an eye on your plans, but depending on my project go live date, plus I can't request vacation time until the 1st of our fiscal year (July 1st), I can't make any solid plans yet. Remind me again about the pass that's needed to camp in MI and the price.

I often think that planning and dreaming are almost the best part of RVing. I had hoped this would be the year that we traveled to Alaska, but hubby does not want to be gone that long. Since we bought our home a year ago he worries about the house if we are gone for months at a time. Me, I don't worry about the yard because a company takes care of it. We take care of our own pool, but I would hire someone to do that. So....it looks like I will be traveling while he stays home. Next weekend will be my first time driving this motor home without him when I go to Hardee Lakes for the GTG. So at this time I have no plans beyond Hardee Lakes. If driving this motor home works out OK, I'll be making some solo plans.
