Snowy Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Snowy Sunday

Postby Colliemom » Sun Jan 10, 2016 7:10 am

Morning all,

Been awhile since I posted anything with the word "snow" in it. Been a scarce commodity up here this winter. Other than about 8 inches week after Christmas, nothing been happening. Now however, Winter Storm Hera is dumping on us and lake effect is to follow, although that looks more like it's going along the lakeshore than inland here. But there's enough out there now anyway. Miss Mlly is almost up to her tummy, but it's drifting here and ther too, so hard to say how much is actually there.

So won't be venturing out today. Storm Warning in effect and winds supposed to ramp up. Remains to be seen if I get the blowers out or not. Nice and cozy in the house, have projects to keep me busy, so will enjoy a "snow day" :D

Tina, hope you got on the road and far enough south to miss the snow. Carolb, the rivers rising, hope you gals are keeping an eye out. Barb, hop they get your heating situation fixed. There are a number of thing with boiler heat that can cause it, zone valves going bad, thermocouples defective etc. Kathleen, glad to hear Princess is doing better. Animals grieve like we do and need time to mourn. JudyJB, glad your son is doing much better. Maybe they should stay in the campground for a few days and rest before heading home. Beth, glad to see you post. Hope things settle into normal for you and cold warms up to cool. Pat, congrats on retirement. You will find your way eventually and so busy, you will wonder how you had time to work. Also, hope none of our forum "sisters" are near where the tornado hit Cape Coral, FL last night.

Keep warm, dry, safe etc. today everyone. Anybody on the roads, travel safe and enjoy. Looks like the gals in AZ are having fun. A blessed Sunday to all if you.

Good morning, Sue and all who follow. Sue, you covered checking in with everybody, so I'll just say "ditto". I hope all dogs and kids and rigs and hubbies and daddies and creatures winged and hooved are well or on the mend. The same goes for houses and machinery of all types. It's big time Texas cold here this morning. Even Olive balked at going out and she loves cold. Poor Matty is just too small to have much insulation. He shivers if a breeze passes. Olive is barking so she must need to go out. Everybody stay warm and cozy. Travel safe!

Mornin' Sue, Nikki and all that follow ~~~
What's ditto x3? Sue has covered pretty much everything, but am glad to hear that JudyBJ's son is on the mend and that Pat's retirement is now officially in fun time play mode.

Never got to the DMV yesterday for Colt's plate sticker. Plenty of time for that. Not like I'm going camping anytime soon with temps in the teens, although I have booked one weekend already. Punkin's training class starts today, so hopefully can look at some more camping places for the May vacation. Trying to figure out a weekend with a friend also. Hubby bought a used truck (2 yrs old) last summer and they guy threw in his truck camper.

Cold and flurries today with some more snow expected tomorrow afternoon rush hour (figures). Yesterday's snow was not as much as expected and basically just froze everything.

Silly Punkin. I think he's a snow dog, even though he came from the south. Once the last snow melted, he didn't want to step off of the patio, but once it snowed again yesterday he wandered all over the yard and had a couple of good nut runs. Maybe he just doesn't like wet, mushy grass.

Chicago RV show is Feb 17th and planning on going. Now that I have Colt, I'm still thinking about retirement home on wheels, so can look at those a little better to see what may be on my wish list when the time comes. (Eileen - you still thinking about coming down to it at Rosemont)?

That's about it. Dryer is telling me to get to finish the laundry. Have a good day everyone and stay safe on the roads.

Good Morning Everyone !!! think its still morning, my watch quit so not sure of time anymore, boy, do I miss it. Hope all are having a good day, sun is out here, not sure what it feels like, but won't be bad I'm sure.

I have been bothered by a medical situation that I thought would mean surgery, and found out this past week there are alternatives, which I am taking one of them. I do not want to be put out of commission for any amount of time. This is what bothered me most about having surgery, so much time to recover a must or drs are ticked  and you may really mess up. What a huge relief !!!! I have too many things in mind I want to do, no time for any delays :o :D

Judy, so sorry to hear about your son, sure hope he is on the mend soon. So many with certain situations, when you read of some of the others, you find, yours are nothing, Makes me feel kind of small when I wake up enough, to find, I've been so selfishly thinking of myself and not checked on others. Sorry Sistahs !!!

I won't say we look to have a fairly beautiful day here, clouds do come over and shield the sun from time to time, but really is pretty out. Don't want to rub it in to those who are having a yukky day. ;) I will be moving on from my Sisters this next week, on the road again :D Tonight we play bingo, still have some of my last winnings to give back to them :D it was a good haul, even though had to be split 3 ways. Sure appreciate fuel prices these days, trying to take every advantage while they last. People to see and places to be, that I missed out on for past couple of winters. Most of my friends of yrs, have contacted me to see how and where I am and if I might get by to visit this year. So think I am looking at a busy winter, which is good, Right ??

Need to get moving, many things to do today, have procrastinated a lot this week and if I plan to move on this next week , must do this stuff, made a list yesterday and so much longer then I thought it was. List sure help but they're a wake up call in my case that I have neglected much.

Have a great day all, stay safe, but do enjoy every minute of it, doing what pleases you most and gives you more peace,
CArol

It's going to be a quiet day in the office today. I organized the rest of January, and will keep it so. Could start on February. Or not. :-) Only one check in booked to a casita. I'll head over and turn the great on shortly. Yesterday I booked servers things, including 3 casitas to one family, dinner reservations and trail rides for the 5 of them, for next weekend. More reservations like this and I'll really learn my way around here. I had lady come in for an RV space yesterday. We got to talking about workamping and she talked to the owner. They asked if she'd be willing to cook. That scares her, so I don't think she'll be back for that.

I'm looking forward to playing around in this area more. I love southeastern Arizona, except it has cooler winter temps. Now that we have sun again, I can deal with it.

I posted more late yesterday on that morning's blog.

Son is doing better, we are hoping he will be released today. He is now on pills and off morphine, plus beginning to eat a little. I went out for groceries last night so we would have soups and stuff. I also dumped and flushed tanks on both vehicles this morning, and filled my fresh water tank. Even if he is released, we are going to spend one more night here, at least, to make sure he is OK for driving. Lots of people coming and going in this campground, so I think we will easily be able to find help hooking up if we need it. And son can sit and direct us, in any case.

I made a big pot of chicken noodle soup last night and skimmed it today, so it will be ready to add the noodles as we decide to eat it. Other than son coming home, it will be a quiet day. Got my first set of papers coming in on Monday evening, so will have work to do this week. It has been a nice break between semesters!

Good afternoon gals! Sunny but cold here at -4 below. Watching a very cold football game!

Nikki, maybe Matty needs a doggy sweater!

I was told by the maintenance man that the thermostat isn't even hooked up! You guys turn on the heat but not connect the thermostat??? No wonder I am dying in here! Had the window open all night (below zero outside) and it is still in the mid 70's in here. He said he will have an electrician come in this week and get it all hooked up. Geez!

Nothing much going on today. Need to finally get started on my autobiography! Just so much to write about but hard to know where to start! I've got lots of notes regarding things to write about but just need to get started on something. Another thing I need to do is talk with someone about how to fix my credit report/score. I keep getting turned down for car loans and am not sure why, so need to find a credit expert to look it over and see what the problem is and get it fixed. I really want to buy a new (to me) car this spring.

Kitten Sophie is still wild and out of control most of the time! Almost worse than the ferrets! But once she settles down she is so sweet and affectionate! I really love her so much! She is getting so big now. She has the longest tail I have ever seen on a cat! it is already 12 inches long! She loves chasing it and, being so long, she has no problem with catching it!

Hope you all have a safe and happy day! Stay warm! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

It's sunny but a cool 50 degrees. At least there's no snow. The weather channel is saying 29 tonight. I sure hope not. Then it will start slowly warming up and probably rain again.

Barbie, it makes you wonder how these maintenance people keep their jobs. The owners must not watch them very closely. All the time they messed around getting your apartment ready you could have moved and they could have rented the other apartment. I think one time you had posted something about autobiographies and I was going to write it down but didn't. You better hope Sophie doesn't stay crazy like my Annie. Annie is 8 and almost every day she has to have crazy time. My son says she is OCD. If his door is open she runs in and wants him to scratch her, then she sharpens her claws in the same place on the rug, runs in the hall and scratches in the same place and then runs across the house wide open. This morning she got up enough speed to make it to the top of my cabinets.

The last I heard they have moved the opening of the spillway North of Baton Rouge to maybe Wednesday. They were going to open it today. That is to keep Baton Rouge and New Orleans from flooding. Instead they could flood the people along the Atchafalaya River. Hopefully the Mississippi River won't keep rising and they won't have to open the spillway. The river by my house goes to the Northwest. I think there is a way to let water into that river but I don't know where it comes from. In the 40 years I have lived here that only happened once and it was because of a drought here instead of flooding.

Not exactly morning, I realize, but had to tell Cheryl we are still planning on the Chicago RV show, saw the WI one Friday and used your checklist! Too bad about the Vikings, but the Packers look to be taking this one. Gotta go, more tomorrow,
