Latest is that he is finally moved to a private room after spending two full days in the emergency area in a small examining room because the hospital is so full. On IV and nothing else, and waiting for levels to go down enough to have his gall bladder removed which they think is causing the problem. Maybe tomorrow, maybe next day. but no one knows. Anyway, he is comfortable. I have cancelled all reservations for next few days, but need to get to Napa by the 15th for an ophthalmologist appointment for myself for dye test of retina. Plans are for me to take over from other grandma with kids. Will park in their driveway but stay inside.

Hopefully he will be home by then. Daughter-in-law is going to try to store trailer here so son does not have to drive home. Son might be able to drive, but we may have to get help to hook it up or do it ourselves since I doubt if he will be able to do anything manual. Will wait until he is released, however. If we need to, will get help from someone in RV park. There is storage lot about two miles away--going to visit tomorrow and check it out. That way, daughter-in-law can drive truck home with son as passenger. Her dad has also offered to come down and help out if we need him.

Will reschedule Disney and a couple places on my own near San Diego for later in the spring.

That's where having the Good Sam medical assistance would have come in handy Judy. They will supply a driver to get the RV home since he could' do it and spare he family a lot of worries. Also where daughter in law needs to learn to drive with it too. Could have happened miles and miles from home.

Glad he is improving and the doctors seem to have found the cause of the problem. But wo days in th emergency room sure doesn't sound like fun.

Good point. WIll ask them to check their insurance. They have Good Sam, but just the basic stuff.

Looks like the fire is fading. I don't have time to catch up with all I've missed since my last post, as I'm using my Hotspot for internet. I will see some of you in Quartzite. Had a busy peak at Amazon, in KY. Literally walked my butt off Headed from there, down through TN and AL, ahead of nasty weather. Parked on a friend's cul de sac, near Mobile, AL. Got there on Christmas and stayed a few days. I used to work with her, back in IA. She eventually got my old job. She sold her house, quit, and moved in with one of her sons and his girlfriend, in AL. It was so good to see her in her stress free state of mind

Stopped to see my nephew and his wife, who live in Lake Charles, LA. He's in the Coast Guard. He's the one who's barn wedding I went to, in IL, June of 2014. I boondocked at the casino and his adorable wife, Jackie, picked me up there. Henry had duty, so we picked up dinner and took it to his work place and ate with him. Had a nice visit.

Went through a little snow in NW TX. Think that was a first for me and Myrtle. We've been in snow, but not had to drive in it. At least it wasn't sticking to the road. Stayed in a couple of rest areas, then at Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino, in NM. I stayed there, last year, on my way to AZ, too. The weather was cold and blustery, this year, so I splurged on an RV site, for $15 (water and electric). There is a dump station at the Horsemen's Entrance, so made use of that. I even ate in the casino.

Got to gtg with Liz and Anita in Tucson, at Desert Diamond Casino. That was nice A new friend, Gretchen, from Amazon, is staying south of Tucson, at her mom's. She drove up and had dinner with me one night. Then, she came back up the next morning and we volunteered at a cool place that serves a hot meal to the homeless, in Tucson, every Sunday. Decided not to wait for Sandi and Beth and headed up to Apache Junction. The weather was turning nasty and I'm not much into the casino life.

I'm staying with Ken, again, and have Myrtle parked in his storage space, here in the park. I have redecorating plans and have already bought peel and stick flooring. Got a great deal at Lowe's. It was on clearance and we talked them down from .69/sf to .50/sf Got the bedroom emptied. I'm excited!

Meeting in Tempe, tomorrow for lunch, with dear Iowa friends.

Hi Linda, great to see you back. I've got hitch itch right now, but of course not going anywhere's. Sometimes wonder if it's telling me I should sell stick and bricks and hit the road. But I love MI and want to keep my residency here. In order to do that, must have property in state with legal address. No P.O. Box. But by same token did feel good to get home after trip west for awhile.

Grumble of the day: I had to call six auto parts stores to find one that carried a circuit tester for trailer lights. Worse yet, in four of the stores, the employee who answered the phone didn't know what they were! Listen, when I know more about a part than the parts store employee, the world is in really bad shape! Grrrrrrr

I fear I am becoming a curmudgeon.

Louise, that's the way I feel. If I know more than someone working in an auto parts store we are in trouble. One kid tried to sell me some anti-freeze for the engine cooling system instead of the pink rv anti-freeze. Then wanted to argue with me. I had to go get it off the shelf and show him. He could kill someone that didn't know any better and put that in their rv.

I haven't yet met an rv salesperson that I wasn't more knowledgeable than. I hate to think what someone new comes away believing. My first was bought from a private party and they helped me quite a bit. The rest I learned by trial and error. Lots of trials, lots of errors. Then, of course, this great group. Oh, and rv.net when I could get post the testosterone in many parts.

But in rving or anything, it's frustrating when the people who should know don't.

I confess to already being a really grumpy old lady! I get really tired of incompetent people in stores trying to tell me what I ought to have when I know better.

But at least I am a little better than before I retired. I was getting so grumpy, I was chewing out the drive-through people at fast food places and giving a large piece of my mind to store personnel. Decided I had to retire or I was going to have a stroke.

I painted my bedroom, last winter. I removed those gaudy window box things, with the day/night shades. Hung those old fashioned roll blinds and made curtains from my sari that I wore in my son's wedding. I removed the RV bed that lifted up for storage underneath and put in a lightweight metal bedframe (full size) and comfy lightweight mattress. Put a colorful quilt on my bed. My bedroom still makes me smile when I walk in Looked at paint colors, today, for the front living area Getting excited to have a change!

Met up with Iowa friends, today, for lunch in Tempe. Decided to go somewhere else, after meeting at a Caribbean restaurant that didn't have any personality. Ruth (in her 90's) was walking slightly behind me. All of a sudden, I heard her making some weird sound and turned to see her falling down I think I grabbed her before she hit her head on the stairs, and she did grab the handrail on her way down. She said she's OK, but I'm betting she will be sore and probably bruised. We did end up having a nice visit and she brought me some citrus from the house in Sun City. You may remember when Ken and I went to visit her and her husband (now deceased). She recently sold the house to her DIL, who brought Ruth and her DIL's granddaughter. 4 of us in all, today. They fly back to IA on Friday.

Linda did you paint the walls with that kills something can't remember the name of it first?
I'm sure I can have the help of the kids but I've seen them paint so will want to pre tape ....a lot
that is a neat idea with the bed but I do store stuff under the bed but perhaps I could put that stuff in under the bed
bins will have to ponder that idea...I like storing some of my more breakable Christmas decorations under the bed

think I've taken the valances off but not sure if not they weren't there just a sorta curtain that really needs to go away

Shelia -- It's Kilz that you were trying to remember --- Many of the paints now have a primer built into it, which is what my daughter & I used to paint their house. Worked really well. But if you had any water stains, I would definitely use some kilz, which is a primer and blocks stains.
