Wednesday, Jauary 6th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Morning,

Nice to see so many posts yesterday. Seems like you are all keeping busy. Things are busy at my bird feeder this morning too. Birds, squirrels and even a bunny. Love watching the colorful Blue Jays, Chickadees, Nuthatches, Downy and Hairy woodpeckers and Doves. Also have a pair of Cardinals making visits. Molly of course has a fit when she sees the squirrels.

Speaking the which of, Miss Molly has developed a fear of my Pergo and vinyl floors all of a sudden. Must have taken a few slips. She can run around on icy road though and think nothing of it. So guess I am going to have to lay some more rugs down.

Carolb, I concur with BJ about he rising waters. You gals had better prepare to move as the surge is moving downstream toward Baton Rouge. This flood is of historic proportions and there is concern that levees may not hold. I see that CA is getting pounded as well. The rain and snow so much needed, but not too much too fast. I have always believed that nature will take care of itself in time. Man needs to stop interfering and learn to work with her. We must use our resources wisely.

Off to town this morning, project to work on later and of course our daily walk. So will be a good day here. O'Sharon, sent you a PM. Have a nice day everyone, stay safe in the rains, on the road etc.

Good morning, Sue and all who follow. Another beautiful opening, Sue. You really paint a picture. Sorry Miss Molly and the floors.
Grumpy and sick of rain, so I'll just finish my coffee and keep quiet. Harumph! (There's no grumpy Smilie. That's just wrong.)

Safe and dry travels to all.

Good morning from CHILLY Southern Oregon. Left the Casino RV park yesterday and unloaded the Motorhome and collapsed in my recliner. Fell asleep about 7:30 so was awake at 4am.....sheesh. Will not let that happen tonite for sure. Sure is nice to be home tho after 4 months in the RV and working. Today I need to take the MH in to be winterized then will unload a few more things and tuck it away for a while. Need to put my Drizit in so hope I dont forget. Then will move on to putting all the crap I took out of the MH somewhere??? Need a Salvation Army run for sure.

So glad to hear Sarah's Magic is in good shape YIPPEE

Hope all our travelers in CA and AZ are able to dodge the deluge of rain predicted.

Good morning, another sunny day but it is cold out there! Been out already to get my hair cut and it was so pretty. All the trees were white and with the sun they just sparkled. So glad to hear that Magic is okay, Sarah. But sad for the other people. Crazy weather all over the country, hope everyone stays safe. Carolb, know you are watching it! Donna, hope the vet visit goes well today. Sue, sent you a message. Loved your description of all the visitors to your feeder! I went to son's last night for his special dinner. It was interesting but certainly not something I would want again! We decided it was better "camp food"! Luckily, his wife made another dish that the rest of us ate! Good effort though! Much to heavy for my stomach! Well, nothing really planned today so better get to it! Have a good day, everyone!

Good morning gals!
Just a few more days and we'll be back home to the 5th wheel. It'll be good to be home. Spending a few days with my dad in Biloxi. Love the seafood here.
Waiting to hear from Donna regarding the vet visit. Hope it went smoothly.
I too enjoy the opening picture that Sue paints every morning. I read the posts but just don't have much to write about.
Have a great Wednesday everyone :D

Mid afternoon here in So. Cal. and it's pouring! Again! They say rain all week! I cancelled my nail app't because I didn't want to drive the freeway in bad weather. Guess I'll stay with the Christmas red nails with silver glitter tips awhile longer! I'm just hunkering down reading, etc. Hope everyone else manages to stay safe, dry and warm.

We are still in Bakersfield and my son is still in the hospital. His blood test numbers went up, showing still lots of pancreatitis, so no release for a few more days. I have cancelled some reservations for LA and San Diego. Thank-you, Orange County Parks for NOT having a cancellation fee!! :D Boo-hiss on San Diego Regional Parks for charging the FULL amount for cancellation. :x They did give me the option of rescheduling them within 90 days for $5, which I did, rather than lose the $137 original cost!! All of this means we are doing Disney in late March, so I made some other tweaks to my schedule to free up more time then. Luckily, most campgrounds were not really confirmed, so I lost only a small amount there.

My daughter-in-law does not know how to operate the trailer systems, and my son had not hooked up the sewer because he thought it would be a one-night stop, so I used my sewer hose and dumped both of their tanks yesterday. Don't know where his are stored and did not want to bother getting them out. Kids are with other grandma, so only one person staying there so she should be OK. She has decided she does not want to take trailer all the way back to Napa, so she has arranged for storage for three months here locally. Then they can just drive truck back and son will not have to hook up and worry about driving when not feeling well.

So, I think we have everything under control. Son has a little pain but is mostly bored. I am comfortable here, so that is OK. Too cold and rainy for Disney or San Diego anyway, so March will be better.

I just got back from taking Stinky for her shots. She lived up to her name. She pooped in the kennel and on the table. She gets so nervous that she drools and pants all the way there and back.

Judy, glad you all are getting things figured out. This is a good example of why women should be able to handle a trailer or motorhome and not have to depend on the husband. I have been thinking of the problems my sister had that led up to her being in the hospital with pancreatitis. My younger son has stomach problems pretty regularly. I told him to look up the symptoms of pancreatitis and see if some to them were what he has. He is so hard headed that it's hard to get him to do anything when it comes to his health.

The weather was nice today and almost 70 but we have more rain coming from Texas.

Mardi Gras starts today but I have been seeing King Cakes at Walmart since New Years. The cake I like the best is from one of the donut places in Lafayette. Like I need cake and fried at that.

It looks like they are blaming the pancreatitis on his gall bladder, since this is the second time this has happened with him, so it looks like he will get the gall bladder removed, maybe on Friday, and then be transferred to another hospital that has a free bed afterwards. This hospital is a big one but has been overrun with patients since this is right after the holidays.

We are still working out what to do with the kids since school starts on the 11th. It looks like the other grandma will take them home to Napa sometime this week and stay with them. I will relieve her after the gall bladder surgery and watch the kids and take them to and from school. (Can you believe there is no bus transportation for kids in Napa??? Either kids walk, sometimes along very busy roads with no traffic guards, or their parents drive them. My other grandkids in Ohio get picked up right in front of their house.)

And yes, I strongly believe every woman needs to learn to drive and to operate systems on RVs. I have heard of too many instances of where husband has heart attack or gets sick and woman has to call in someone to hook up and drive for her!!

Judy, the schools here in Mountain House, CA don't have school buses either except I think they have small ones for handicap kids. Good luck taking the kids to and from school. YAY for grandmas!! Also agree with you about the wives learning how to operate the RVs - never know when something might happen.
