good morning all :-)

It was wonderful to see so many of the forum family sharing holiday greetings! Now I look forward to hearing how you all celebrated the day :)

I had a great day with Donna, "Phoebe" and dad. Today I will drive back to my sisters. Again, sad to leave, but I know that I have made another special forum friend!

Anita and Liz, stay safe while you sit out the storm. That goes for anyone else in its path! you.

So you all have a great day, and be safe always!

Good Morning Carolb and all,

Glad you had a nice Christmas visit with Donna, Phoebe and dad Carol. Hope you pups helped Donna's pup a bit. Looks like you might be staying in FL for a while from looks of weather to west too. Liz and Anita made the right move, going farther west before the storm hits. Seems to be no end of storms this year.

Christmas was nice day here. Mass in the morning, followed by walk with Molly, then over to cousin's and enjoyed the afternoon. My other cousin and her daughter came and we ladies spent the afternoon, munching on appetizers, playing a game called Quizzler and then went and took a nice walk afterwards. Sun was out in a blue sky and for the first time we can remember, the lake was ice free. Seems funny being out with no snow and no frozen lakes. Going to be a quiet week here as other than skiing, winter sports are at a standstill.

Hope you all had a nice Christmas yesterday. I too enjoyed the greetings from everybody who posted them. Course I'm sure the groans will be starting from all the overeating once everybody hits the scales  My diet has been going well, have lost about 18 pounds, but did put one back on over the Christmas holiday binging. Will work that off pretty quick.

Donna, posted a link in Pets for you to read. Might give you a little insight into the issues you are having with Phoebe right now although she hasn't run from you, but some of the other things she is doing.

Wishing you a nice day out there today, stay safe, hunker down if in the storms path and enjoy being with friends and family if you are celebrating this weekend.

Good morning, had a wonderful visit with Sandy yesterday, we did a drive around the area scouting some places for other camping possibilities if Usery is full. Little sight seeing is always fun. I really liked Lost Dutchman state park, sets at the base of Signal butte mountain, beautiful view and asphalt pads. Drove up to the lake and down to the river but sadly the gates were closed so we didn't get to see the river. I was hoping to get a glimpse of the Salt River wild horses but , no sighting.
Will catch up on some chores today and hope for warmer temps. At least we are suppose to get some sunshine all day.
Y'all enjoy your day, be safe and be warm.

Good morning all,
Just trying to muster up the ambition to start cleaning house. I'm puppy sitting for a cute little Beagle boy today and tomorrow so I can't go anywhere too far or too long.

Had a lovely Christmas with my "family", that is, my DH's family and extended family. Christmas Eve was at DH's brother's home, so much food and a nice group to share it with. Christmas Day was at his sister's with just 5 of us. All in all, one of the nicest, most relaxing holidays I can ever remember having. Only bad thing was DH had an infected wisdom tooth pulled on Wednesday and the combination of strong antibiotics and pain meds made him very sick. So he missed out on Christmas Eve, poor guy. Spent almost all of Thursday sleeping but it must have helped because he was much better on Friday and today he has gone off with his dog, Shooter.

Well, better get going or I will just surf the Web til it's time to go walk the Beagle boy!

Everyone take care,
Kathy
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Good Morning. Hope everyone who celebrates Xmas had a nice holiday.

Woke up at 4:30 this morning sick as a dog. I often get sick when I'm feeling as much stress as I am these days. It's one huge PITA.

Guess I won't get started on my very long To Do list. Other than caring for dogs, I'll spend the day sleeping. I hope.

Good thoughts to anyone affected by flooding or other disasters natural or man made.

Good morning Everybody. This is my second attempt to post... I'm traveling through the beautiful snow covered Rockies on greyhound bus headed to Grand Junction to spend a few days with my friend, Nada.
Liz, I won't be at Q this trip. On Jan 8th I'm crossing the border at Nogales and driving my Roadtrek to Kino Bay. There will four of us traveling together and I'm looking to the venture. I expect to be in the Tucson/Benson area about the 6th/7th.
Maybe I'll cross paths with some of you heading west. Enjoy today. Peggy

It's staring to snow! What fun, haha! I'll take a picture if anything accumulates...probably overnight.

Good Morning All, Val and I went over to the SD daughters for breakfast x-mas morning. She puts on a hugh spread!! it is very good, and yes, I ate too much!
The most fun was watching the 10 month old Great-grandson open his presents. Of course, everything went immediately into his mouth!!! He loved the ribbons the packages were wrapped with. Lots of good toys for a little baby. I got an age appropriate game for the Great-grand daughter. I refuse to buy her those "girly" things as her mother insists on keeping her dressed in. I've gotten her bird books and Ranger books in the past. Want to expose her to some science in her life.
Nikki, so sorry to see you are sick. Stay in bed and rest so you may make some of those "heavy" decisions. Remember the old gambling song...you have to know when to hold em and know when to fold em...thats what is going on with your RV. You've received some good advice so I won't add to it.
Red, it is good to see you posting again.
Sarah...hope all that horrible weather down in Alabama didn't hurt you!
Donna, I thought your new little puppy was named Diva. Did you change her name?
That is all I can remember now....lyn

Not much went on here except cooking and eating. My younger son never would answer his phone so I don't know what he did. I had a ham I would have given him but when you snooze you lose.

If I can get myself gathered up I am going to Lafayette with the rest of the crazy people. I need to go to Sam's but I'm sure it won't take me long to get my fill of shopping.

I could kind of see the full moon last night. The clouds were very thin. It's overcast again today. We haven't seen the sun in several days. At least it isn't raining. The cool weather will get to us on Monday. They aren't predicting a freeze yet. It seems like Sarah has been getting the worst of all the weather coming through. Liz and Anita have fun in the snow. I don't have clothes for that kind of weather.

Good Morning,

Not sure why I am waking and 5 or 6 a.m. the last few mornings!

Snow has started - nothing serious - yet. I don't mind this really except the overnight temps are predicted to be way below my comfort zone.

What air compressor/tire inflator do you all carry with you? I bought one that doesn't work for beans. Luckily, Liz has one that does! So far I haven't found it online. I have had enough of the trailer issues so will try to get it repaired in Tucson. I hadn't done that yet because LeRoy told me to wait until he could do it - that won't be happening. Enough griping.

I have enjoyed reading of all the Christmas preps and happenings! So much fun for those who have little ones around.

Peggy, sorry to see we won't see you in Q!!

Everyone stay safe with all the strange weather! Especially thinking of Sarah!

Anita, I have a Black and Decker air compressor that I like. It works off 12 volt or electricity. You could use it in an rv park if you had an extension cord. It has a dial that you set the pressure you want and it will cut off automatically. The 12 volt ones take forever if you are trying to air up a big tire.

Kathleen, one of my cats is a beggar for food. She is willing to try anything I am eating and likes sweets. Not something you want to encourage because it is very annoying. If I can't find her in the house all I have to do is open the refrigerator door and she appears.

Thanks, Martha. The one I had was 12 volt, 275 psi and would inflate the air bags on the trailer. Yes, it took awhile. I should have mentioned that I need something that will 'lift' the 1700# of SS on the trailer to 120 psi. Liz mentioned there is an Auto Zone in town and looks like they may have something that will fit the bill. I think I'll buy one, let the air out of the trailer in their parking lot and try it!!

Glad to hear you all had a nice Christmas! We are supposed to be in the middle of a big snowstorm but I woke up to about 1 inch of snow earlier and nothing coming down since. Barely half of the lake is frozen. Saw a boat on an open bay the other day. Two people fell thru the thin ice yesterday on a barely frozen bay. Duh! Such a strange winter so far!

Christmas Eve I worked until 2pm. Was crazy busy! Then took my dad to church in the evening. He really enjoyed that. Church really isn't my thing, but the music was nice.

Christmas Day at my brothers left a lot to be desired... Everyone hangs out on the porch to smoke and drink so my dad and I just sit in the living room by ourselves. After dinner, everyone started talking about ISIS and guns, etc. Not enjoyable or appropriate Christmas banter, so I went upstairs and laid on one of the beds until it was time to open gifts. We always do the dice game where we each bring one gift to put in the pile. So we played that for about 10 minutes. Apparently, the rest of the family (brother, wife, kids, inlaws) had decided to all exchange gifts with each other as well. No one mentioned that to my dad or me. So we sat there watching everyone else opening gifts for the next hour. It was very uncomfortable for me and my dad. I felt like an outsider at someone else's Christmas celebration. :( We left right after. Sure miss the Christmases we had when my mom was still here! She made them so awesome!

The only good thing was that on the way to my brothers house earlier, my dad and I saw 13 bald eagles in the trees as we drove around the lake! I have never seen so many eagles at one time before!! It was awesome! :D They were looking for fish from high up in the trees. One had apparently caught one and was eating it in the tree. They are all converging on the lakes here on there way south for the winter. They will stay here until the lake freezes over completely and then move on.

I have today off so am just hanging out at home relaxing. Then back to work tomorrow. I did get to reserve a nice campsite on a lake up north for June with the group I went camping with last year. Will be a fun weekend! Something to look forward to over the winter. Got my new tent the other day which is bigger than my other one so will have more room to move around inside. I get claustrophobic in small tents, especially if I can't stand up in them.

Have a good day and stay warm, safe and dry! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
