Tuesday and everyone's missing

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday and everyone's missing

Postby gingerK » Tue Dec 22, 2015 10:12 am

Well good morning,
Don't know if everyone's busy doing something, getting ready for Christmas or just being lazy. So I'll start MC.

Weather isn't conducive to a festive feeling here in IL as it's a continuation of damp, grey, dreary rain. Hard to get into the holiday spirit. Sorry, but I am such a humbug at this time of year.

Poor DH has to have a wisdom tooth pulled today. I sure hope it goes easily and he gets relief from the pain. He must have been pretty bad last night because his dog came in and slept with me instead. When I finally did call it a night, I had almost no room. His dog's a bed hog!

Everyone take care,
Kathy

My goodness! No one posts, then 3 of us post!
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

WET Tuesday

Postby bluepinecones » Tue Dec 22, 2015 10:12 am

Good soggy morning
Rain, rain and more rain all week long. We are also under a weather awareness alert for tomorrow with potential for flash flooding, damaging winds, hail and tornados. Actually the severe weather potential covers a very large part of the southeast. Sure am glad I don't have any travel plans for the week. Just checked river gauge at Ditto (on-line) and it is projected to rise another 5 feet by Friday morning. The only good thing in the forecast is that it will not be cold.
I have finished what little Christmas shopping I had to do and all wrapped except for a couple of checks for nieces. Have some small gifts to deliver plus make trip to campground which I hope to do today. Grocery shopping tomorrow morning before weather degrades even more. For the most part will try to minimize my time on the wet, slick roads.
Plenty of tasks here in need of attention if I can just make myself address them.
Those of you with clear view, enjoy the full moon for Christmas.
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!

It's Tuesday

Postby Othersharon » Tue Dec 22, 2015 10:29 am

Good morning all! Guess everyone sleeping in or out doing last minute shopping for the big day! I did make it to the mall yesterday and it was surprisingly quiet and uncrowded. Kids still in school so maybe that had something to do with it. I picked up the cd I wanted and then mostly just wandered around and checked out the stores. I don't go to malls very often so there's always new stores and other ones gone. Did pick up a few stocking stuffers but that was it. I did sit in the food court with a cup of coffee and just people watched for a bit.

Donna, I agree with what Beth said about letting Diva come to people. My younger dog is a bit shy with people and usually if we ignore him he will come up to them in his own time.

Looks like we're going to have a wet and warm stretch of days here. No chance of a white Christmas with these temps! But that's okay with me! But seeing CA having some snow which is good for their drought. You all need a break out there and hopefully this will help some.

Well, time to get moving and get something done. Think I'll make some carmel popcorn today so I can take over to son's when I go on Friday. Easy to make but time consuming! Hope everyone has a good day and stay safe.

Good morning
Just chuckling at myself cause I have 3 choices for mc. I'm sure Beth will get them merged. My doctor called late yesterday with the report on my ultrasound. It was all good news, no cirrhosis so my treatment will only be a 12 week course. I do have a couple small gallstones I didn't know about cause I've never had symptoms. Guess they are called silent stones. So, its all good. Going to go see Vicki today :D
Nothing else on my agenda
Y'all have a great day, be warm and be safe

I don't know if we will get more rain here today. The radar shows most of the rain offshore and to the East of us. I was right about it being foggy. When I got up I couldn't see the barn from the house. Everything outside is dripping wet.

Our insurance agent called and said he has a ham for us. If my son would answer his phone I would go get the ham and give it to him. The agent's office is in a town I don't go to very often. They have a Kmart and all the others have closed. I like to stop at Kmart when I'm close for a change. I'm not going to make it anywhere if I don't get dressed.

Stinky is living up to her name. She jumped up in the window and passed gas. WHEW! She is the only one that has figured out how to get treats out of the new toy. Frosty is on the prowl this morning looking for trouble. I would sure like to let him go outside but don't want a vet bill. He would start something with one of the barn cats.

Three MC's this morning! Everyone had the same idea at the same time

Ava, glad to hear you got good news! Now you can enjoy your holiday time off without worry!
Sarah, I hope your RV is in a safe place away from the flooding. Stay dry!
Martha, I had one of those treat balls for the ferrets. They got really good at it! I had a cat once who would roll the ball back and forth with one of the ferrets and they had it down to a science where a treat would fall out right in front of them and then they would roll it back to the other one. It was so amusing!

Got an update on the ferrets last night. They are doing really awesome! The husband is going to build a ferret "castle" for them all to play in. I suggested they include a slide on it and they love that idea! My dad had built a slide for my ferrets many years ago and they loved it!

We had a dusting of snow overnight which makes it look a little more "Christmasy" outside. However, it is supposed to warm up tomorrow and rain, so that will turn it back into a brown Christmas for Thursday. :(

Time to head off to work soon! Gonna be a long day, 9 hours!

Have a good one! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good afternoon,

I have been having a good time with genealogy and catching up on a few things. I get one problem solved (or at least find the solution for later) and another crops up. Got out the portable compressor and a wire broke! Can't raise the trailer without it. Thank goodness I didn't wait until the day I was to leave here!! I had already ordered a scanner online to continue with genealogy. Now I've ordered a compressor that I can pick up in the next week in Boerne. Not sure if I want to venture out tomorrow - we'll see but some groceries are getting a little low. And the finicky charging connector on my tablet has quit again. Every time I figure it will be the end. Still have to pay Verizon the next 3 months before a new one - or none.

Be it people or fur kids, there have been too many losses of late. Getting through the holidays is so hard - especially that first year.

Ava, glad to hear you got good news!! However, I guess I missed something - 12 weeks of treatment? Happy you are meeting Vicki.

Kathy, my grandson had a couple wisdom teeth removed yesterday and daughter says he's doing fine. She was pretty worried because she had a horrid time when she had hers out. Hope your hubby does well.

Sarah, hope you'll just take a breather soon. You have been dealing with way too much.

Velda, I think of you and your hubby often. You are definitely strong people!

Donna, hope you all enjoy your visit. Our doxy would cuddle up to Steven when small children or other dogs came around. Our girls were small when we got him, but he was very good with them.

Okay, if I'm going to run errands tomorrow, I think I'll go unhook the trailer, etc. Everyone have a good day!

I'm here. It has been really cold and rainy here, but then got warmer in the middle of the night. I was very low on propane and did not run out during the holidays, so got up and unhooked motorhome to get a refill. I had to ask for help from a fellow camper because I could not hold onto the water hose tightly enough to untwist the faucet. Was able to get the rest unhooked and then rehooked up when I got back, so all is well.

Gathered up my laundry and am at my son's house now doing laundry. The big item is my bedspread, which will not fit in campground machines, but will fit in their side-loader.

I am going to have the kids with me tomorrow afternoon and evening. We are going to bake and frost sugar cookies and then they will spend the night. Parents will go out to dinner, obviously.
