Sunday, day of rest?

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday, day of rest?

Postby carolb » Sun Dec 13, 2015 5:43 am

Gmorning all :)

Crikey, Donna & I have been going non-stop! Yard sales were few, but we hit about 5 thrift stores on Fri, then yesterday spent all a.m. at the dog beach, then we moved over to Wickham Park for the afternoon. Today will be a day of rest--well, that's after we do some yard work!

Started Tigg on the prednisone, as directed by vet, & after only one day, his cough has subsided significantly! Thanks for advice & concern from many of you--vet & I had ruled out anything contracted from the environment, since anything that is "contagious" would surely be passed to Ape & Pipe. But if this round of meds doesn't do it, I may get him another chest x-ray--could be heart, like Andy???

I love the wet catnip toy stories! Sue, glad your little Mollie is quiet the cuddler:) Let's see, it's been a couple days, so I don't remember what y'all are doing  Oh, the Cmas shopping thing  BJ, now remember, the spirit of the holiday is to give to others, but I'm glad you're finding stuff for yourself ;) ;) Certainly not a bad thing to give presents to ourselves, right?

With that, wishing y'all a great day, be safe always, & YES buy yourself a special gift this Cmas! Hmmmm, should I mention that I've "convinced" Donna that we should visit the humane society tomorrow???? What could we be shopping for there :? 8-)

Good Morning Everyone, I've moved to a CG up near my sister. Needed to do other then camp driveway as Donna refers to it :D I've been in this one before, right across from the pool, and its a wee bit too cool for me haha sure is a nice big one though. I'll be here for a week, she let me do the PA for a week, which is really nice. Laundry and major housekeeping are on the agenda.

I have a lot of catching up to do on here, my time is about out on my Ipad until the 16 th. So haven't been on much, plus at my DD's granddaughter had her 11th birthday, which is a big deal, you know, for me anyway :D :D Not to sure how good this wifi is here, couldn't get on last night, but was in hopes it would let me while everyone may still be asleep, Sunday mornings, people sleep in don't they

I have no real news, moved and in different area, with many to see up here. So will get in touch and let them know I am here and see what we can arrange about visits.

Have a great day everyone, so glad you and Donna are having such a good time Carol . Carry on

Stay safe,
CArol :)

Good Moring Carolb and all,

Boy, you and Donna are really out and about Carol. And an upcoming trip to the Humane Society :) Maybe a Christmas present in her future. I've been debating the same thing for Molly, but o far haven't been able to get some cash handy. Plus the debate about do I or do I not want another dog. Food and vet bills are getting expensive anymore. Glad Tiggs cough is getting a little better.

Not much going to happen around here today. Rain moving in for next two days, so won't be an outside day for sure. Don't even know if Molly and I will get our walk in today either. Will have to see what it looks like this afternoon. Got things I can do in house. Refrigerator needs a good cleaning before the health department condemns it , load of wash to do etc. First off, heading for Mass this morning, a quick run to Wally World maybe and then home. Sarah, I hear you about not being able to find what you need at Wally World. Same here, so I quit shopping there unless it's something I know I can get for sure.

Martha, sure likes some rough weather heading your way today. Hopefully no tornadoes anywhere. Not good this close to Christmas when people are gathering, homes are decorated, the presents piled up and children dreaming of what's under that tree. Don't want to see all that scattered across the landscape. Barb and O'Sharon, agree with you about lack of snow, green grass, open lakes etc. Nice but as you say not so for those who rely on it for their winter paychecks. Looks like we are in for some white stuff by end of week from the lakes.

Well, time to go wash my hair and get ready for church. You all have a nice day out there, stay safe, enjoy the warm temps and mild weather while you can, if you are on the road, steer clear of the storms. :)

CArol, you snuck in before me. Glad to see you. Was wondering where you are. Sounds like a nice spot. Hope you can get the WiFi to work when you want it.

Good morning ladies
Very cold this morning, 38, not used to this. Was thinking my heater was getting
wore out until I checked the temps. Its just having a hard time keeping up.
Don't have any plans for today other than routine organizing, sorting and cleaning.
Guess I'll get my little gifts wrapped for the family.
Y'all stay warm and have a great day

The rain is between here and the Texas state line. It is moving very slowly so that means we will probably get a lot of rain. I haven't been watching the weather this morning so hope there hasn't been any more tornados. I don't see any red boxes on the radar.

I gave Harold the day off of cooking and baked some stuffed pork chops I got at a meat market near the campground last week. The stuffing was a little too spicy for me and they need to back way off on the salt. Harold had bought a big container of dehydrated hash browns at Sam's so I cooked some of them. They aren't bad. That would be something that could be carried in an RV. You just have to soak them in hot water for 15 minutes and then fry them. Hopefully they are sold in smaller containers than the 50 serving size. lol

CArol, that was nice of them to let you have a good rate for a week. Most parks advertise that they have Wifi now but most of the parks I have been in you can't use it. I could get on in the park last week but as soon as I tried to do something it kicked me off. The state park near me has as good a WiFi as any park I have ever been in.

Carolb, it would sure be boring around here without all the entertainment from the cats. Frosty found out when he had to wear the cone of shame for so long that we could sure give some good ear scratches. At least once a day he comes by for a good scratching. I hope Donna can find another dog. I get weak sometimes and think about taking more barn cats but the vet bills are just too high. We get attached to them and you know you will take them to the vet if they get hurt or sick. My son and his girlfriend have taken in another dog they found in their yard. They have tried to find her owner but no one has claimed her. They are trying to find a rescue that will take her. They can't really afford the dog they have and don't need another one.

I better go get my Sunday paper before the rain gets here.

Sun is finally out for a while in Napa. It rained last night and this morning, but I can see that Texas and Washington State are getting drenched again! You folks there must be floating these days. California needs a lot more rain, but it has been getting a little lately and the grass is finally green. At least this will help the trees and shrubs that have been so stressed from the drought.

I got into Napa a couple of days early, so had to spend the night on my son's driveway on a slant last night. Now I am at the Napa EXPO--the county fairgrounds. I am parked right next to the animal barns, but this is a very, very nice RV park. Sites are paved, plus they are wide enough for cement on both sides even when slides are out and long enough for a car in front and almost one in back, which is nice. Full hookups and lots of grass between sites. Expensive ($45 per night with Good Sam discount), but within walking distance of downtown restaurants and shops. I like it here because I can ride my bike all over town for shopping, doctors, and such. That means no driving and no rental car.

Got only a few things to grade and will be able to turn in grades tomorrow morning, maybe tonight if I am lucky. Son is coming over at 3 pm to pick me up for dinner, but I will not stay long afterwards because kids have school tomorrow. After I turn in grades, I will have 2.5 weeks before next semester starts!
