Sunday back in cyberspace

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday back in cyberspace

Postby carolb » Sun Nov 22, 2015 6:33 am

Gmorning all :)

Yep, Ava, you got it right--I was absent from cyperspace! Thanks for checking on me...All is well, & I've had a great past few days...so let me catch you up:

Driving in circles: Yep, but loving this "adventure"!
In jammies: Nope, feeling healthy again & dressing appropriately ;)
Dog parks: Haven't been to any lately--poor pups :(
Bald: That's a good one, Kathy, & practically the truth!

Okay, so my adventures: On laundry day, I met a cool rver, we shared travel stories & had some good laughs. A day or so later, we ended up at the same Rest Area early in the afternoon, & continued our conversations. LSS (long story short), we decided to travel together for a few days! Should I have been worried? Well, she did admit to being an ax murder, but said she was not currently practicing nor packing  I've lived to talk about it, but at times when I was leading her (she insisted) IN CIRCLES, I think maybe she wished she had an ax to at least hack my tires! But no, she laughed at every "wrong" turn, & we both thoroughly enjoyed our travels! She took great pix, & I think she might get on our forum & post them. Hope so...

Anyway, we part ways this a.m., & I'm moving onward--or backward--to more adventures!

Hope y'all are well, as well as some sick poopers! Y'all have a great day 8-)

Good morning Carolb and all who follow!

Ah, and here I thought my hunters would gain me the honor of starting MC today. They get me up at beforethebuttcrackofdawn o'clock, but you beat me by a good half hour, gf! You say you met up with another axe murderer? Well, bring her on over here to the forum!

It's pretty cold here this a.m. but I guess that's to be expected. DH didn't snowblow the driveway so it's all rutty from his coming and going yesterday. I didn't leave the house except to go to the barn and feed/clean stalls. Just vegged out watching the LOTR movies.

Poor Shooter pup is depressed today; Daddy went hunting without him! Oh how could he? Well, Shoo, when you cut your paw then pull out all the nice (expensive!) stitches, what do you expect him to do? Paw is healing but it will be some time before he goes hunting again.

My friend Karen texted me yesterday that she wanted to bring her dog Bilbo (LOTR again!) over to play in my yard-he was bugging her to go out and she usually takes him for walks. She didn't want to walk him in that messy weather yesterday so my fenced yard was a good alternative. They came over and we got him to run up and down (my yard's pretty big and I have a nice big hill to run up and down-wears dogs out good). Then we took him in the barn to meet the horses and you should have seen what a 'fraidy cat he was, barking and growling at Cody from the doorway to the barn. She was, as usual, unimpressed with him. Next time, I will let my dogs out to meet him and maybe they will play together.

Only laundry on my agenda today, I was a slug yesterday so I have to get something done today to make up for it. Ya'll have a good day.

Everyone take care,
Kathy
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Good Morning everybody,

Carolb, glad to see you posting this morning. Was wondering where you have been. See you met an axe murderer and lived to tell about it. Sounds like you gals had a fun time, going in circles and all. Remember, if you wind up in my drive, I can plug you in and then maybe set you off in the right directions the next morning

Kathy, laundry is already in washer here this morning. So, I"m one up on you already. Sounds like your friends dog had fun playing outside. Got a laugh about meeting the horses though.

Molly wanted out about 6 this morning and boy the lake effect was really coming down. Probably got about two inches I would say. It's going to stay there too as warming up later this wee and I have other things to do today before I leave in the morning. Packing is one of them. House is all cleaned, turkey is cooked and in freezer as well as dressing. So will make it easier for Tday. Will probably go to town a bit later and get some bird suet that I forgot to get the other day. Figure it will last them while I am gone as I know the seed won't. Sky is starting to get blue and sun trying to peak out, so shouldn't be too bad a day.

Going to get a move on here, things to do. Have a blessed Sunday all :)

Good morning, all. Sunny Sunday here. No new snow overnight, just the two or so inches from yesterday. Much more to the south and west of us. But I did stay home yesterday after our iPhone class, so I need to get out some today. And, I want to go to the Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra concert today as it's close to home: last night they were in Waukesha, in a hall about 20 miles away. Today's recital is at 4:00, too, so that gets me home earlier, too. Despite being retired and no job to get to in the morning, I'm finding I really don't like the late nights anymore!
Stay safe and warm; and it's good to know not all axe-murderers are dangerous!

Good morning all. Carol, glad to see you back! Glad you are feeling good and back to your adventures! Kathy, I hate to have to start my mornings with something I have to do. I'd rather ease into it in my own time! Which usually means I don't do much until later in the morning or afternoon! Sue, you sound like you are all ready to head out in the morning, hope you have good travel weather. Looks like today is an inside day, it's windy again and cloudy. I managed to get some more done outside yesterday. Boy, am I running behind on the outside stuff! I'm about at a point of figuring I've done all I can do until spring! The last thing I need to do is get Lola covered but am waiting for a day that the wind isn't blowing so hard. I don't really want to be crawling around on the top of her when it's this windy, I'm not that comfortable up there in the best of conditions! I spent some time yesterday clearing out anything I thought critters would be drawn to. I remembered I had some dog treats in the cupboard so got those out! No use inviting them in for dinner! So I think the inside is all ready for the winter. I'll shampoo the carpet in the spring when I can open all the windows so it'll dry. The dogs in and out when I was clearing it out did a number on it! I vacuumed the worst of the dirty prints but it needs more work! Well, not much else from here. Coffee is done and the day is waiting! Have a great day and do something fun!

Good morning!

Carolb, glad to see you're doing what you do best - bringing laughter & friendship to almost anyone who crosses your path. Your ability & willingness to 'go with the flow' & be present to the moment encourages me that my time to do that will come too. Thanks for being who you are. :D

Kathy, It's just hard to beat Carolb in the morn. Sounds like your friend's dog had a nice romp in your yard even though the experience with Cody wasn't met with the same enthusiasm.

Sue, Two inches of 'lake effect' - I'll bet its beautiful! I never thought to cook my turkey ahead of time - I just cook like a crazy lady Thanksgiving morning... Fixing it ahead of time is giving me some new ideas. I'll be fixing the full affair this year for my west-coast kids - it'll be Gaby's friend first Thanksgiving day experience - so I want to have all the traditional things our family has grown up having.

Other reports of cold/snow/chilling winds - wow, it's kind of nice not chiming in on those reports.

Not much happening around here - beautiful sunshiny days, baby's still cute as ever, more learning going on with my work - same old, same old...

I did take Sadie to the dog beach last Sunday & finally let her off leash (it was an overcast & windy day so not too many people out there) - she loved the freedom to run at full speed - always looking back at me to make sure I was following. I was amazed at her ability to hear me call her amidst the howl of the wind & very pleased that she ran back to me so quickly each time. Thinking of spending Black Friday at the beach rather than out with the crazy people shopping.

Well, time to get off the computer & do something.
Hoping everyone stays safe (avoid axe-murderers when possitble) & has fun!

good morning ladies, feeling pretty darn good this weekend, grocery shopping yesterday with lots of goodies, some healthy and some not so healthy, but debatable....pineapple pie, yum adds a little fruit to my diet and goes down really good for breakfast with my coffee. Cooked a dinner last night and put up the leftovers. Kielbasa and potatoes, fried. It was just so
yummy. Over the years I've always done kielbasa with buttered noodles but had some potatoes I needed to cook before
they got too soft. And talk about EASY, slice up the kielbasa, slice up the potatoes, dump in the skillet and let it sizzle.
Do need to get some laundry done today as I skipped that chore yesterday and ended up watching a couple movies. I actually slept in myself today, it was daylight when I woke up.
Was happy to have Carolb let me know she was safe, guess I didn't really give her any choice when I texted her "don't make me send out a search party!"  ;)
A little windy outside today, but I still have some outside chores to do in between gusts, most of it will get done.
Only a 3 day work week coming up and I'm feeling no stress.
Ya'll have a great day, be safe, be warm, be healthy. :D

I didn't do much yesterday except go vote and cook a meat loaf. The man I voted for won and not the one arrested for the sex scandal. Louisiana is at the bottom of so many lists I didn't want us at the top of the list for governors that have been arrested. I don't know what kind of governor Edwards will be. The only thing he has admitted to is being a Democrat. lol

I went out to get the paper and ended up weeding my flower bed. I figured it was cold enough that the snakes wouldn't be in there. I need to get more mulch to put in there. It got down to 41 last night but not the 37 that was predicted. There is a chance of a freeze tonight and then it will start warming up.

My dad was the one that usually cooked the holiday dinners and he did most of it the day before. I don't have room to store that much food and someone would be into it. If our refrigerator ever goes out I think I will remove some cabinets and get a bigger one. I don't know why they build cabinets over the refrigerator any way. I don't even know if there is something up there. I would have to get a ladder to see.

I'm glad Carolb checked in. Good to see she is still having fun.

I was almost to the point that I was going to tell the Wildcat Foundation that I would take a couple of barn cats. They are always looking for homes for feral cats that can't be returned to where they were caught. After Zero's visit to the vet I think I will just take care of the ones we have. It was $175 to treat the abscess on his head.

Good Afternoon,

Glad to see Carolb's post. Discovered she and I got our wires crossed but will meet up at some point! Martha, I saw who was elected your governor and wondered if he was the one you wanted! Catherine, I'd take of your same ole if it involved snuggling a sweet baby! :) Ava, I think your short week comes at a good time and hopefully having the 'powers that be' finally see the 'situation', your life will be much easier.

Almost 50 degrees here but a beautiful sunny day. Suppose to freeze tomorrow night - 28. Oh well. I never hook park water to the camper so no worries there - just have to remember to turn on the furnace to keep pipes warm (I have been known to forget that).

Got my 'bedroom' cleaned yesterday! Maybe that's why I am a little achy today - from crawling around up there! Now this dinette table is next - I am such a messy person!

Have a good day everyone - stay safe and warm!

I know it is way past morning. Halfway to Mesa, AZ, and stopped early today to do five loads of laundry at a campground with a big laundry room with many machines. Why five loads? I discovered a couple of weeks ago that two of my underneath storage bins had been leaking. I seldom go into those bins and I store my winter coat, suitcase, extra towels, and extra clothing. ALL of it was mildewed. I could not dry things out in wet Texas so had to wait until I had a dry place, which I did for the last few days.

I sprayed the suitcase with Lysol, but I think I really need to wash it out when I get to Usery Mountain where it will be hot and dry. Ditto for my duffle bag that I also use as a suitcase. Both were very expensive so I can't just toss them. I dried out the clothing, tossed a few things, and just now finished washing it all. I am going to let it bake in the heat at Usery and then double plastic bag it. (It was in plastic bags, but junky ones that leaked. This time I will go overboard and maybe even tuck in some desssicant bags or something. Maybe even get more plastic boxes with snap-on lids.

So anyway, two loads of regular clothing and three loads of mildewed stuff, so I am really tired.
